Was it seriously that glitchy or was the guy just having his own epic problems?

The only one I could say I really had was the party banter one.

I think he was just having his own epic problems. First of all, he probably needs better speakers. And some expectation adjustment, perhaps.

I didn't actually watch the video, trololol, but I haven't had any glitch problems with the DLC.  The only one I had was the party banter glitch where Anders and Hawke have a nice discussion about Carver's absence... while Carver stands there and listens.  XD  Other than that, it was remarkably glitch-free.

Why does it seem most the people with bugs and glitches or complaints on how something looks are playing on a console?

I am not saying all of them do this, or have these problems, it seems they are some of the first to point it out or to complain.

True, I don't mind it really. Mostly with what they did with DA 2

And...  Anders... no crotch?  lolwut is this a Justice-butt joke?

Finally posted the first chapter for my fanfic. If anyone is interested.

Must read. From what I've seen of Correm, he sounds like such a fun Hawke. I always feel hideously guilty for not reading more of other peoples' fanfics. I want to. <insert trite whine about poor time management skills>

Yeah I've been stuck reading SurelyForth's fic, but mostly at bedtime and I get about four pages on my Kindle before I pass out hahahaha.

Anders is cute in it tho.

Carver and Anders just got into an argument which involved Anders going, "The plight of every mage is my burden." So dramatic. And then Carver sniped at him for going on and on and Hawke stopped it with "Less complaining, more survive-the-dungeoning."

Huh. I can't recall meeting a single glitch in legacy that didn't see in DA2, and the one I did see I saw only once. The particular glitch where the game still runs when I put the meny up and pauses when I put the meny down, making it hard to do anything other than being turned into meat confetti and mother of God I hate it.

I just finished DA2, I bought it, pre ordered for the signature edition and everything and put the game down around act 3 and it's been sitting there forever, unfinished. (Couldn't beat that stupid high dragon with my mage and I remember getting frustrated and putting it down) So I had time and decided to start fresh and try again.

Man I just hated Anders in DA2 :( My first playthrough I tried to romance him first because I LOVED him in awakening. I almost wished Alistair wasn't so swoony so my grey warden could swipe Anders up in that one. So I was super excited he was in DA2 but I feel they ruined him. I started to hate him! I couldn't stand him. He was still in my party for heals but ugh I absolutely hate what they did with his character. He was sooooo loveable in awakening :( I'll just try to keep his memory as the ser pounce-a-lot lovable guy rather than the whiny blow things up guy.

I'm really not happy with what they did with his character. Don't do it again Bioware >:{

You know, my main problem with the transformation is that I would've liked to see more of it.  Like, if Anders had started out in Act I as his fun, loveable, Awakening self, (I know he still made a couple of jokes in Act I, but most of his humor in DA2 just fell flat for me) and then got worse and worse as the game progressed and he was exposed to the injustices mages faced in Kirkwall.

The problem with that idea is that he is freshly merged with Justice which was a horribly traumatizing event for him. His ability to deflect using humor was nullfied almost completely right off the bat. We see a decent amount of his descent already, especially on rivalry.

...but this is exactly what happened.

he didn't just make a 'couple' of jokes in act 1; about 2/3 of his banters have punchlines, sometimes mixed with mage stuff, sometimes not, and his commentary except in the direst of mage situations is pretty light-hearted. in act 2, he's still cracking jokes, but he's also becoming more paranoid, and his commentary is more confrontational. by act 3, almost all of his banters are grave and aggressive.

hell, there's even a specific callback. in act 2, anders and varric dick around about killing bartrand, but when varric tries to start the joke up in act 3, anders glumly shoots him down.

it's... pretty damn obvious.

edit: and also what @beckaliz said. maybe starting out exactly like awakening anders would be viable if he merged with justice in-game, but he doesn't, so that makes no sense at all.

Sorry, it just wasn't a slow enough burn for me.  He starts out paranoid, when he jumps all over you for coming into his clinic.  My main complaint is that he is a completely changed character from the start of DA2.  I know he makes more jokes in Act I, but all of his attempts at humor seem half-hearted, like he's trying desperately to be his old self, but not quite pulling it off. (ETA:)  Which is actually a neat idea, but I would've just liked it so much better if there had been more of the old Anders at first, so the decline would have been that much more drastic.

Or, barring that, I'd like to see just how bad it was for him in the short time between leaving the wardens/ending up in kirkwall.  Well, not really, I still like the gradual change better, but it would be interesting.

Hello Anders fans! I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer. I'm doing my first Anders rivalmance, and I'm in Act 2 right after Dissent. When I did the little talk with him after the quest, I confronted him about Ella and then picked the aggressive option after that, which didn't lead to any romance options. And then when I went to do Questioning Beliefs, that also didn't have any romance options. So when I went back and redid the convo after Dissent, I confronted him, then picked the sarcastic option, and that let me pick a romance option. And when I did Questioning Beliefs after that, I got the romance options, but it ended up giving me +15 Friendship. Is there a way to get the romance options and get rival points in those conversations?

I'm not exactly sure but I think you have to have high enough rivalry to trigger his QB before Dissent. You won't necessarily have to actually do the QB but it'd have to be in your journal.

This is a guess. I am not an expert.

EDIT: Either way, it's really easy to get rivalry points with this guy.

Idk, is there different dialogue for act 2? And my Hawke was like rarely responding to the party banters.

Most of the party banters I hadn't heard. lol, the Hawke responses are all from a sarcastic one though. I need to redo it on act 2 and make my Hawke sarcastic, my Hawke in act 3 had become more diplomatic.

For those bits where Hawke responds to Anders (after he freaks out the kiss thing, etc) I imagine you are going to have to have it just be you and he. For example, to get his dialogue facing Idunna, he has to be the only one in the party. They go in order...if (A) is in the party then it plays this, if (B) is in the party it plays this...etc. If they put Hawke's responses high on that priority list, none of the others would ever play because Hawke is always present. So s/he is going to be last on the list. So if someone wants to brave Legacy with only Hawke and Anders I think they might get some of that dialogue. I hope that made sense..

You have to remember that Anders differs from a lot of other characters who undergo drastic character changes in that it's not a gradual change over time.  Things change immediately and irreparably for him once Justice is inside him (heh).  What we get to see is him wrestling with this forced change, like the bolded part.  I think the game conveys that change very well, as influenced by Hawke depending on whether you go friendship or rivalry.  The change from Awakening Anders to DA2 Anders happened pretty suddenly, so there is no "slow burn" for the game to convey.  It's how Anders deals with his new self that the game covers.

I played a good chunk of Legacy with just Hawke and Anders and didn't hear a peep.  I definitely passed one dialogue trigger point, and Hawke hilariously ignored him when he started freaking out over the voices.  I still wasn't able to trigger the "kiss" dialogue from Hawke or the "you don't want all this ugliness" convo.  If anyone else has managed to, I'd like to know.

All I really remember is I believe the diplomatic option during his QB rivaled does not lead to romance options. Both aggressive and humorous do. I can't really tell you on rival/friendship points since I usually have him maxed either way by then.

Even Carver is worried, and he doesn't even like Anders that much.

Anders: I'm not listening...I'm not listening!
Carver: Anders? Anders! Maker, it's like he doesn't even hear me.
Hawke: *is busy looking at rocks*

Sometimes he'll freak out and nobody will say anything, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

I'm been trying to hear Merrill's banters with just Hawke, but haven't had any luck with those either.
