I think that might be part of the appeal of the rivalmance for me. It's a lot more angsty. I want a happy ending but since I can't have one, I might as well add to the angst.panamakira wrote...
Anders is a tragedy. I can't see any relationship working with him. Maybe that's why we love him. Because we WANT to make something work for the poor guy.
Ms. Jennifer I hope our tears taste really good in your morning coffee. Mr. Gaider should know about that too.
It's just so hard to create a serious character that gets him to 100 rivalry when even things like telling Thrask that you'll help him drag the Starkhaven mages to the Gallows to avoid a massacre ranks a smile and an approval bump (the only one I got that entire game).
Yeah. lol I like the rivalmance too. Even though I hate angsty romance. Ugh~ Cannot stand it but I like Anders. He's a very interesting character and when I was given the choice to fight our opinions I took it. It's like I care for you but I don't agree with everything. Deal with it. Rivalry -10.
Can't complain about the looks either. He's had a not so great life and it all drove him to this point. I'm fighting a loosing battle in trying to make my Lady Hawke make it work for him but you know..
heh~

I thought there was a mention of it in game. Lord knows younger Anders did enough things along that line.

Yeah, everything that he's been through would definitely have an effect on him. He would probably be upset about what happened during all that time he was with Justice. But I imagine the part of him that was a hotheaded revolutionary would be gone.Sarah1281 wrote...
I doubt that (even should a miracle occur and they could be seperated without the kind of damage Marethari warned about) Anders could ever go back to being exactly like Awakening!Anders. He wouldn't be the same as the conglomerate he is in DA2 but going through something like that would leave its mark.If they were separated, I'm not sure what would happen to their relationship. Justice would be back in the Fade, and Anders... would be the same as he was in Awakening.

Yes Anders. We'll cross a "who the hell knows what" mirror and be happy on the other side.

Ball gag? He had a ball gag? I'm sorry, I can no longer think intelligent thoughts. Ball gags?
Uh-oh. I think the Anders thread is once again teetering at the brink of mania. We've been through the depressing serious discussion, and now we will begin to madly rave about kinky spirit sex. XD It's a roller-coaster in this thread.

By the way, did you all hear about the innocent healer that didn't pay his exorcism bill?
He got repossessed.

We always do that. This thread does reflect Anders. 2 pgs of "SRS BSNS" and we go back to crack.

I bring a drive-by fanart of m!Hawke/Anders, and also a question.

I was planning on going for the Anders friendmance with the guy in the picture, Mr. Archibald Hawke, fellow mage. But I really wanted to play him as angsty as possible, and now that I've lurked this thread it seems like rivalmance is the way to go for angst! Problem is, I'm already slanting towards friendship because I made Hawke nod and smile with everything Anders said. Would you say it's worth restarting to go for rivalmance? :/

Now that I think of it, this thread reminds me of my Kane Amell's mental state after he spends too much time talking to Isabela. He's normally all depressing serious with some sarcasm thrown in, then he'll randomly ask Kaya if Anders or Justice is better and joke about glowy spirit babies. But then if anyone goes in detail he's all, "I don't want to know!"leggywillow wrote...

Ah Payroo - gorgeous as always. Are you still taking commissions? Oh and if you're for the angst, rivalmance is probably the way to go, although to be honest there's PLENTY of angst in a friendmance too.
Ahaha, technically yes, although my attention span is in WHEEE DA2 mode at the moment
Dangit, looks like I'll just end up making multiple playthroughs. I feel like there are actually 8 romances in the game with this friendship/rivalry business!
...well, maybe more like 4 + 4/2 = 6.

Though I am sure as it happened with DAO, I'll eventually try 'em all, they're just not in the cards at the present.

Yeah, maybe he and Sebastian will nag on another to death while their taut buns warm the bench.

Can I say I hate Sebastian? Quietly and politely. Cos I really, really hate him. A lot.
He annoyed me quite a bit at the end. When I'm trying to deal with the business of Anders you just blew up a chantry and he's all KILLLLLL HIMMMMM. It was like, he kept interrupting and everyone just kept ignoring him. That at least made me laugh.

My dislikeof Sebastian doesn't even have anything to do with Anders, I just don't like preachy, "everything happens for a reason" people. In that banter with Fenris about the little boy Danarius killed for blood magic lulz to impress his buddies.... I wanted to reach into my screen and slap him halfway across Kirkwall. Or when he was asking Fenris when they should turn in the maleficarum, when my mage Hawke was standing right there along with his abomination boyfriend...
Just like, srsly dude? Srsly? Good for you that you found the Maker, but dnw to drag a priest around when I have a much better (and sexier and funnier) archer already
