Anyone have the codex? I'll have to see if I can find it because now I'm curious.Tidra wrote...

Actually many modern day missionaries put themselves in harms way, so yeah you'd think they would at least try. So what you are saying is if say...a modern missionary was killed by a random thug in a neighborhood, the organization that sent this person would consider everyone else in that neighborhood that might actually *need* help a lost cause? If so...I'm not sure I want part of that religion.
For one...if the Chantry really was hoping to have a presence in Darktown - they would go with Templar guards if they knew it was dangerous down there but still wanted to bring food/water to the needy. If one of their sisters randomly went missing that would have caused quite a stir. It makes me feel like those remains are really old or something, given the fact that the guy you return them to is "Archivist Plinth" you would think he would have buried a relative o.O
Half the reason Anders has no trouble getting spotted by Templars/Chantry priests is because they're never there.

Wait... were the remains supposed to be recent? Considering someone lost them, I figured they were relics. You know, dead body bits that churches keep? The Kirkwall Chantry is mentioned as having human relics, so I figured the remains of Sister Plinth were either being stored in Kirkwall or moved to another Chantry.
But maybe, being Catholic, I'm just used to seeing gobs of remains sitting about in large churches so I didn't think twice about the remains.

^ Dunno. The remains are there before Danzig is, so it's probable that slavers did not kill her. IIRC, the guy you turn them in to is "Brother Plinth," so perhaps it's a relative?

I think his full name is Brother Plinth the Archavist (spelling might be off) according to the wiki.
@Aeowyn: Thanks for the screenie!
Ouch. Wonder how many people they lost that way?

No offense but...that just seems...odd.

So the Chantry people, fearful of losing more of their beloved basically ignore Darktown.
And the people there go without.
Logic says, they could use some Templars to help as they adminster to the needy. Or all they too busy beating the mages into submission? <_<

That's one of the problems with Kirkwall. The Chantry is not about faith and salvation, it's about politics. Kirkwall has always had a strong templar presence, and Vicount Dumar was chosen largely because he was willing to do whatever Meredith wants. I'm not saying this out of anti-Chantry sentiment. The very first guard you talk to tells you that the Viscount would not dare go against Meredith. So, with most of the available resources committed to secular government, what does the Chantry have left to devote to the care of the people? They give sermons... that further the Chantry's political agenda. They devote their energies to politicaly relevant goals--Qunari, mages. Little things like Darktown refugees get pushed to the sidelines, and Sister Plinth's bones moulder in the Undercity.Melca36 wrote...

Oh no, I'll admit to it being weird, so no offense taken. Anyway, pieces of clothing or body parts belonging to saints are generally kept as memorials to those saints in churches. Some churches even have reliquaries where these are displayed. I've seen supposed finger bones and all that of dozens of saints out for display with little name tags. Some churches also keep especially notable saints buried under altars or such. For example, the Basilica di San Marco in Venice supposedly has St. Mark's remains contained within the high altar.
The Kirkwall Chantry notably has the remains of Deverina the martyr, as mentioned in one of Seb's side quests.

The latter, I think. In the quest where you hunt the apostates for Meredith, and there's that one mage who was from ferelden who was taking care of the orphans. When she turned herself into the Circle, the templars nor Chantry did sh*t for the orphans, even though she asked them to look after them for her,. They blew her off, the orphans remained abandoned and ignored by the Chantry as well.
I mean, I know the templars jobs are mainly rounding up rogue mages, but it really wouldn;t have killed the templars to make a quick stop by the Chantry to let them know the situation, and that there were some kids in need.

Huh. That's...yeah I don't really know what to say. Though the little name tags sound interesting. Are they like dog tags or just stripes of paper?
Wonder where they put her?

The Chantry is a military body disguises as a holy organization and they are hiding things from the people. I can't wait to see their hypocrisy exposed.
