I once had a boyfriend who my cats did not like right off the bat. They despised him. And it turned out he was a waste of space. He broke my VCR, dishwasher, playstation, totaled my car, and then I discovered he was cheating on me with his 500 pound exwife, who he was supposed to be seperated from and getting a divorce.

I should have listened to my cats. Thats why now I use feline approval as a measure of whether or not someone is worthy of my time now. It served me well, I ended up with my husband, who is my darling. And cats love him. :)

He....broke...your....PLAYSTATION!!!! :o D:<

Barely 4 hours after totaling my car. It was then I told him he could leave of his own volition, or in a body bag. I didn't even care about him porking the ex at that point. He was lucky I was out ammo for my 12 gague at that point. Used it up the previous weekend skeet shooting with some friends.

not that I'd have wasted good ammo on him when there were perfectly good blunt and shapr objects in abundance around the place.

Moral of the story: listen to your pets. They are often smarter than you. :police:

I'm finely playing my first Anders li play-through. I likes it...a lot.. I like Hawke's line to Varic..." In all the years you've known me..when have I ever not been attracted to crazy? lol" or something like that.

so this makes it 2 for 2 in liking the male li's in DA2. :)

I'm just into act 3 and Anders has asked my Gail Hawke to help find the ingredients for you know what. I'm playing Gail as a woman that has always looked after her sister (who is sadly in the Circle at the moment) and now is trying to protect Anders. She's also not stupid and has figured out these stuff sounds kinda obvious after all she's a rogue and she uses poisons and bombs a lot. She just hasn't figured out what Anders is being all secretive and what he's planning to do with it.

LOLing at people who insist that a benevolent and philanthropic Chantry was populated by thousands of invisible refugees.

Yeah, I don't get that part. Seeing how Anders blows up the Chantry some 7 years after the story begins, which is like 6 years after the Blight, I'm pretty sure the refugeee numbers in Kirkwall just ain't what they used to be.

The entire point of that whole sequence was to leave room for ambiguity. It's a pre-rendered cutscene. If the developers wanted to show hundreds of people packed in there, it would have been easy to do. They show swarms of looters during live game-play, after all, so an in-game movie would not have been as resource-intensive as that. No, they wanted people to see how few people were affected by Anders's actions. It's the fans who blow the thing out of proportion.

I agree. I remember in DAO, the two Chantry's you visit, the Lothering and the Redcliffe Chantries, were filled with ambient people. You saw groups of people, mainly families, huddled around or praying. In Kirkwall's Chantry, all I saw were clergy. Nor during that entire 7 year period did I really see the Chantry doing much of anything to help anyone, really.

The fact that Anders does this at midnight says alot to me. If he was going for max collateral damage like some claim...he'd do it at noon.

Edit: He says midnight rivaled, not sure about friend though. He says "The clock is ticking, it will be midnight soon" or something similar.

never saw a point to belittle someone elses favorite LI. I really don't have a favorite for DA2. I've been playing other games so I haven't gotten through DA2 many times to really have an opinion. (been playing a lot of Lord Of the Rings Online lately) so far I seem to like Anders and Fenris equally, but for different reasons. I am pretty well known as a Zev fangirl, but I never belittled Ali fangirls because I really liked his romance too. I just happened to like Zev's better.

as for the conversation at hand I do think that Anders doing that at midnight when random people cannot even visit the chantry (try to click on the chantry at night unless there is a quest there...you can't go in) is on purpose.

Exactly. Different strokes for different folks. I don't know about the romance paths for the other LIs in game, since I've only played once. However, I'm quite happy with Anders romance and general character. Haven't tried the other LI's, nor am I likely to (except maybe Isabella) but if other people did them, what's the problem? If I don't like your LI, it just means theres more of that LI for you to squee over and love.

And yeah, I'm an Ali fan, but I really liked Zevran, as a friend and even LI. I was disappointed that I missed Zev's cameo and quest in my virgin playthrough, because I didn't know where to pick it up (I do now). Even though Zev wasn't my romance, he was still my Warden's friend.

yeah, I agree here as well. It was at night. Given what we know of Anders and Justice, even at that point, I think this was deliberate.

I think many people do it simply to make themselves feel better about their choice.

Same as bashing another brand of car, or computer, or beverage.
Putting something down, makes your choice feel better.

Does he actually say the midnight thing friendly? I don't remember but I don't think he does. Doesn't change it though, he does rivaled. I doubt that changes @ friendly.

Nevermind, he doesn't because the QB and the post-Justice convo are wrapped in 1 for friendly. So only rival.

Not that I recall. I do remember the "It's almost midnight" line, but I interpreted that in the metaphorical sense. But, as you say, it's night-time one way or the other. I don't play through rivalry if I can help it, so any knowledge of that would have come through my friendship playthroughs.

Right, this is the conversation right after helping him with the Chantry thing. He says "the clock is ticking, it will be midnight soon" or something..I really should load it up and see exactly what he says. Or I might have a you tube up...

Whoa, yeah, maybe it was only on a rival playthrough. And cute Hawke! Love that bandana hair thing. You must be on a PC because you have mods, but your anders looks a bit different than I'm used to. Is it a video issue or are you using mods? If it's mods, they aren't as obvious as most.

Just on rivalry.

Edit: Actually, I don't have a save far back enough to check, so maybe he says it on both.

Thanks XD I think it's the video compression though, she wasn't nearly as dark eyed as it looks. And no I am an Anders purist, other than the ocassional reskin of his robes. But I don't think I had any in for this. Key word *think* :P

Edit: Yeah pc. I'm normally a PS3 gamer though. Mods brought me here ^_^

Oh, this is so funny. We're all such Anders purists here. OK, some of us use costume mods and a rare few use mods to blondify his stubble, but we want his face the same.

I adore his vanilla appearance. I tried a mod that lightened his hair but it came out in about 2 minutes...

Good this whole time I thought I was crazy. :wizard:

I see some people like AMG I need a mod so he looks like his Awakening self!! I'm sitting here looking for a morph so his  Awakening self looks like his DA2 self....and no luck so far. Oh well.

The only DA2 character I have a mod for is Avaline and it just softens her just a bit. it still looks like Avaline..oh, and I have a mod that takes the piercing out of Izzy's face. lol. Fen and Anders look the same though. Oh, I do have the mod normal noses so all of them look slightly different, but I really like that mod. It's amazing how much better the elves look with a tiny mod like that. of course Zev and Ali..oh, and tegan HAD to be fixed.

which is odd, because I modded the heck out of DAO. lol. everyone and their mother was modded in that game.

Yeah...I had to mod Orana because seriously who does makeup @ Bioware for NPCs? Other than that, I have probably 50ish mods for DA2. But most are cosmetic for Hawke. Anders won't ever get tweaked though I <3 him as is.
