Checks thread title... Anders thread... im shocked at you! All this Templars praise, for shame!

Lol... I loved messing with Cullen on my Warden, but that whole sequence in the circle was like "what...you still feel that way? But... but.... "*derpface*

Though my Warden was 100% loyal to Alistair she genuinely liked Anders and if she hadn't been Alistair's would totally have gone for it, lol. To bad Anders didn't feel the same. Then well ... one day I will do that Anders romance PT .... one day...

Edit for TOP and cuteness and relevance...

Never been a Cullen fan myself...Maybe because my Amell is my only male Warden, so I didn't get the stammering crush part. He was always just a disturbed Templar to me.

Question though: does DA2 check for the gender of your Amell? Because it would be chuckle-worthy to have Cullen refer to my Amell as a 'she'. I'm guessing the majority of people here have F!Amells, but hey, it can't hurt to ask.

As for Anders, ever since I got the Awakening "love bug" with my Mahariel, my headcanon is that he carried a torch for her, but never acted on it because she was otherwise spoken for and got stars in her eyes when she received letters from Zev.

yes it does. It only fires for a female mage Warden, because Hawke is a distant relative. Not to mention the codex for Cullen gets an extra entry.

And yeah, the tone was still lovesick. Veeerrrry creepy.

But I still can't help lol'ing at Cullen, especially if you try to shop Anders to him after Anders starts making his poo-bomb. He says something like "the templars suspect Anders, but are unable to locate him or find him".

Like, the templars can't find Anders, who is currently and openly shacked up with Kirkwall's most prominent and favorite citizen. Something that everyone in hightown is aware of. And the templars can't find him?

When the recruits mentioned Meredith's dangerous inititation ritual for Kirkwall's templars, I'm beginning to wonder if that ritual doesn't involve beating the recruit/interCircle transfer with a bat of epic stupid +12.

It's true sometimes the Templars of Kirkwall can be insanely stupid. Can't find him? You mean all those times you saw the scraggly looking apostate robe wearing rebel mage sporting gentleman beside me you assumed it was someone else?

I chalk it up to Cullen at least being the down-lo kind of guy in that he is like "we can't find him" *wink wink nudge nudge* sort of thing. They know where he is and could obviously do something but because of Hawke they do not. At least that was the spin I took on it even if sometimes the dialogue is *facepalm* *derpface* silly.

I'm still going with the epic bat of stupid +12 theory, given he couldn't even identify my mage as such, even though she dropped a lightning storm on his head when I rescued him from Wilmod.

Hell, given the general clueless dumb of the templars in Kirkwall, i could have made Hawke a blood mage, stabbed myself and raised an army of undead, and Cullen would have probably thought Hawke was just some emo kid engaging in self harm for lulz, and would probably recommend a therapist.

I think this classic comic pretty much sums up Kirkwall's templars:

It still gives me a case of the lulz, cuz it's so true. :)

Apparently a Grey Warden might be able to have children with a non-Warden. Two together is the impossibility.

But the length of time they've been a Warden is important, too.  That's why Riordan isn't an option for the Dark Ritual in Origins.  By the time Anders and Hawke tried to have kids, Anders will have been a Warden for close to 10 years.  His swimmers are probably pretty blighted by that point.

Still, I guess it's not entirely impossible.

I think Riordian isn't an option because he wouldn't go for the 'dark ritual,' while Alistair would be convinced by a friend to sleep with Morrigan. However, The Warden can impregnate Morrigan even without performing the dark ritual.

I'm pretty sure Morrigan explains that she needs someone who hasn't been a Warden for long if you ask her about the specifics of the ritual.

Also, love that comic Posted Image

But a male Amell Warden is also related to Hawke, no? Sure, I can understand that Cullen would have a special line for a female Amell, because he had a crush on her, but he would also have been acquainted with a male Amell.

I don't know, I thought it was sweet not creepy ^_^ I didn't get the impression he'd spent the last few years obsessing anyway, just seemed like a bit of a throwaway comment to me, like how you'd talk about an old friend you'd not seen for a while.

My Amell warden had only the vaguest clue that Cullen liked her, and she didn't find that out until she heard some apprentices gossiping after her Harrowing. Curious, she poked Cullen, but his stammering confused her. She had never really considered the templars as people, they were kind of like heavily-armored furniture, so his obviously tumultuous emotions were way too human for her to comprehend.

By the time she got to Alistair, she had figured out that non-mages were people too, a lesson she learned from Duncan, who defended her against Greagoire and literally saved her life (in Ferelden, Harrowed mages who rebell are executed, and she didn't understand shades of grey too well). She fell hard for Alistair, and loved him enough to help him become more independent. When the time came, she was disappointed to find that he could not make her his queen, but she settled for becoming his mistress because fidelity and royalty had nothing in common, at least in her mind. If he had to marry for dynastic reasons, so be it, but love was too personal and too human to give up for the throne.

She liked Anders and would probably have banged him, but he held back. She figured that it was probably the threat of Alistair finding out. In any case, she wasn't too fussed when he turned her down. It was no more than a passing fancy anyway, old Circle tower licentiousness returning like an old knee injury. She and Alistair drifted apart, over the years, but she never stopped loving him. Not really.

Edit: Nobody wanted to read that as one paragraph.

Goodness.. *fans herself*

Different scenario. Cullen only has it on for a female mage. Male mage is different. Dunno if he says anything for a male mage import, since I do not have one. But I doubt it would be that creepy.

Yeah that Dragon Mage comic is classic lulz. I remember the old motivationals poster thread, and I laughed so hard at some of the creations on there. And saved a few faves.:wizard:

Still on the Cullen talk... that's why. Scaring off all the good sparklebutt and Anders rabble.

As a side note... Anders keeps showing up in my dreams. He is always some random creeper in the corner. One time he was a bum living in my basement (don't ask). Another time he was this guy who kept following me when I was doing other things. This last time I literally turned to my friends in my dream and said "oh, that's just Anders... don't mind him." I mean W.T.F. my subconscious is haunting me.

I wish it was Fenris instead of Anders. I would KILL for a Fenris dream or two, LMAO. Unfortunately Anders seems to be the one always hanging around.

It's funny.. he's usually wearing his black rebel mage robes and carrying the staff of Parthalan. In a modern setting dream he seems really out of place, but for some reason I just laugh it off like he belongs there. I wake up going ... WTF was that?

I would not want Anders in my dreams, because they are often about really disturbing things. I'll stick with my more tame daydreams involving the staff of parlathan, a couple hundred pounds of his special explosions, and his kinky lightning tricks. :)

That scene makes very little sense if you didn't do anything with Sebastian.  The first time I played the game, his achievements were all borked and since I was a rogue myself, there was no reason to bring him anywhere.  He parked his butt in the Chantry the entire game and I don't think his rivalry/friendship meter budged in either direction.  And yet he still said to Hawke: "If I'd been in that Chantry today, would you still be waffling?"

Hawke: "I'm sorry, do I know you?"

Hahaha. When he said that, I was like "No, I wouldn't be waffling. Had you been in the Chantry as well, Anders would have gone beyond his cool point allotment for that day, and I'd have been forced to take him right then and there and had mad, passionate celebratory sex. Right there, in the Gallows, in front of meredith and her goon army."

That's about my first Hawke's reaction.  "Uh... and you are?"

But I've taken him more places this time because he does have good banters.  Still not killing Anders, though, just to keep him around.

I've tried so hard in each playthrough to really switch up companions, since my first playthrough I really didn't and missed out on a lot of banters. I don't even hate Sebastian as a character, and he does have some good banters, but he's just so redundant. If I'm going to take an archer, why wouldn't I take Varric? He has even better banters. I wish Sebastian had been a warrior instead.

But yes, same reaction from my Hawke's so far. It's like, okay, I'll choose between the dude I'm shacking up with and...you. Your name was...? Yeaaaaah.

Yeah, I'm more worried about not killing Fenris this time.  Sebastian will always get pissed at me since I can't kill Anders.
