Ooo, posts from David Gaider in the Fenris thread. Sweet.

And a new screenshot! I need to run another Mahariel through Origins-neither of my two ones had happy endings.

Edit: Figures this would get ToP. Anders getting ticked at Merrill!

That reminds me of the "Well, I am now" line you get if you make him a blood mage in Awakening.

I know, right?

Please tell me I'm not the only one who jams the Print Screen button to catch decent facial expressions or cool animations.

I think I ended up with about five different pictures during the bit where Anders heals Batrand because I was trying to get just the right shot.

LOL I spam my screenshot button like nobodies business. Unfortunately most of my screenies are Fenris. I do have some good Anders ones though. I covet lovely screenies, and the DA2 characters just make such beautiful expressions. I seriously love the animators forever.

Oh, Andraste's ******, you should have seen me PrintScreen-spam when I was playing Fallout (3 and New Vegas).
I look at my DeviantArt submissions folder now, and hang my head in shame.

So no, daaaaahlink. You are FAR from the only one who does that. >.>

I'm worse than you are! I actually run FRAPS while I play just so that I guarantee that no matter how slow I am with the Print Screen button, I can always go back and try it again.

Aw, my screenshots of my city elf lying in thin air while stabbing at an armored ogre that fell the other way didn't turn out very well. Sadness. I've heard about FRAPS. Does it cost anything?

The ability to screencap is the only reason I wish I had DA2 for the PC. Thankfully, this thread has provided me with an ample supply of Anders screenshots. Where would I be without a million pictures of Anders face to use for horrible photoshopping?

I'm glad I have both DAO and DA2 on PC because I can take screenshots and get mods that fix bugs, especially the endgame ones (I'm looking at you, Alistair. You're not always king.).

I'm sure if there was a toolset, people would be doing all sorts of bizarre things to the characters.

Edit: Well, and fixing bugs. But mostly they would be doing bizarre things to characters.

No and yes.

The trial version is free, and you don't have to upgrade if you don't want to, but you can only ever record 2 minutes at a time. Scenes like Tranquility are longer than that. Plus, with the registered version ($25), if the video terminates for some reason (like one cutscene transitioning to another cutscene), you don't have to restart the program. So I shelled out the $25 and got the registered version. Also, the trial version has a watermark.

It's also great if your memory is less than it could be. I'll be cruising along, working on the fic, and completely forget how a dialogue went. FRAPS to the rescue!

You mean to suggest that people aren't already doing bizarre things to characters?

Hmm. Interesting. Thanks! I've seen the watermark on some Youtube videos, which is always annoying.

Speakiing of Youtube videos, I know I have (and I bet someone else has) posted this before, but any video that includes Bann Teagan's jazzhands, Anders, and Nate is worth posting multiple times. *dances*

@YamiSnuffles: WHY DID I CLICK THAT. MY EYES! *whimpers*

Heehee.

Oh, and I love that video. I heard that song while I was driving today and I instantly thought of Anders.

You know, I used to have quite warm feelings toward you...

Seriously, you're still the greatest, but if you do that to me again, I might have to say something unpleasant.Posted Image

We might have discussed this before, but I think it was hundreds of pages ago. When Hawke meets Anders and asks him about leaving the Wardens, he says the "hopelessly tainted by the darkspawn and plagued by nightmares about the archdemon" parts don't go away.

But I thought Wardens only dreamed about the archdemon during a Blight-Alistair says "That's how we know this is really a Blight" during the conversation about bad dreams. So the only people who had nightmares about the archdemon should be Alistair and the Warden, not any of the Awakening recruits.

And nobody should be dreaming about archdemons at all unless another Blight has started somewhere. Isn't there an Orlesian Warden ending slide that says something about that?

There's a number of continuity errors in the games - that may be it.

The only one I've really noticed relates to the Dalish Elf Warden. In Origins, all the possible Wardens exist regardless of whatever origin you pick (Dwarf commoner body found in cell, Dwarf noble mentioned, etc.)  If you're not a DE, in Witch Hunt Ariane mentions that two hunters found an Eluvian. One of them was never seen again (Tamlen :() and the other died (the potential Warden). And yet, in a DA2 game where you didn't import a Dalish Elf, Merrill says that "a" hunter -Tamlen- found the mirror and never mentions Mahariel.

So there I was, shelving books at my place of employment, minding my own business, WHEN SUDDENLY!
Anders walked in through the front door.

Seriously, this guy came in who could have been his non-pixellated twin. Average height, kind of skinny and gangly, dirty blonde hair pulled back into a messy ponytail, brown eyes, aggressive stubble.
Granted, he was wearing motorcycle gear rather than a crow in the middle of anting, but STILL.

I wish I had a camera, but in retrospect, I'm not sure I could have photographed him without coming across as a gigantic creeper.
Mind you, I might have done as much anyway, though I was doing my best not to stare.

I almost asked him if he was still in the market for a cat... but in the end, I opted for "Would you like your reciept with you, or in the bag?"

@Ashwraith. Ha! Weird. Yeah, taking a picture would have been a bit creepy.

I don't remember who it was, but someone posted in here ages ago that her husband was basically a dead ringer for Anders.

Don't they make smart phones for this very reason? Nonchalantly sneak a pic while your pretending your texting or something, LOL.

I saw a guy the other day who had the perfect Anders build I thought. He didn't look like Anders, but he had that physical build that I imagine when I think of Anders. He was tall, thin but not too thin, slightly muscular, and a bit gangly. I've always had a habit of studying people. It's like a thing I've done since highschool. I got over people thinking me a creeper.

Plus people have actually come up to me a couple of times and said "omg you look just like one of my friends! Do you mind if I send her a pic?" -- I'm actually.. flattered?

LOL... I suddenly had this image flash in my head of this special I saw once where people would actually take a picture of a celebrity to a plastic surgeon and go "make me look like this or as close as possible..."

I can only imagine going in there with a Dragon Age 2 pic and going "make me look like THIS!" -- I would seriously die if I saw an exact Fenris or Anders or Isabela or Merrill on the street. I think I've actually seen a Varric before -- course he wasn't very short but the facial features were there, and he was a tough motorcycle guy too, LOL.
