I have a confession to make.
I... don't own a cell phone. So that would make using one in that context a bit difficult. >.>

Clearly, this is part of Meredith's plan to distract and capture male mages.  "Behold my bod..."  "WTF, crazy woman!??!"  "Gotcha.  Off to the Gallows for you."

Guh that caption and those sketches are the best.

And thats exactly how I see Varric's views on the whole thing. I'm sure he tends this way, but he also strikes me as that "everybody's friend" guy who has sworn to never publicly discuss politics.

Blech. Totally underwhelmed about the new DLC. Apparently, it's a Felicia Day DLC. I don't want to watch Hawke frolic with a LARPer in elf-ears. Especially not one who's described as a cross between Varric and Isabela, because there's no way that could wind up as anything other than a horrific Sue.

(sigh)

Why couldn't they, you know, have come up with this awesome quest instead of beating us over the head with somebody else's idea of sexy? Yeah, they do say "story-based," but they don't say much at all about the quest beyond the setting. Legacy's build-up was all "Hawke's dark past" and "Warden connections". This one is all "Look! Felicia Day! And a new fighting style! And stealth comes back! And items!" Blech, blech, blech.

On the other hand, somebody important said we can bring Anders. Well, not Anders, specifically, but you know, the generic "companions" thing. Since it features Orlais and the Qunari, my guess is that Fenris & Isabela woud have the most to do with it, but I could be wrong. Oh, dear. I hope this doesn't mean we'll have to deal with Leliana again...

Is that supposed to be encouraging?

My main problem with it is that they already told us to expect less DLC than we had for Origins. One cruddy one represents a larger percentage of the whole.

When Legacy was announced, I was beside myself with excitement. I could not wait for the release date. With this one, I do nothing but dread the fanboi squee.

Ah, well, there's always Item Pack III to look forward to. Maybe this time, they'll give us alternate iconic looks for the companions. Not that I object to Anders! I'm especially fond of his tan/green coat. The black is sexy and dramatic, but I like the way his coloring works with earthtones. And maybe with the next item pack, they'll actually give him a useful item, rather than just "Here, have some more superfluous mana points and an extra +8% in healing." I swear, the people wh make up the DLC items hate Anders. They never really give him anything useful. Well, the +3 to all attributes and spirit damage on Malcolm's Honor was nice, but since I play mage!Hawke, Anders gets stuck with the Staff of Parthalan. Or maybe they'll give us a nice cold- or nature-damage staff. That would be nifty.

I am looking foreward to see the cheveliars. No to happy about Tallin( Or whatever her name was), but I am really looking foreward to se what an Orlesian party is like.

I liked Anders belt in the last item pack.

Plus more party banter is always good.

I'm also, less then enthused. Not so much by Elfelicia, but because.. well.. I'm a FENRIS fan, and fancy orlsian parties + tiny smart mouthed elf + Fenris? How are you going to explain away why the Champion of Kirkwall (or whoever you're pretending to be) has so many elves, unless they're "servents". You know how well That is going to go over if I drag Fenris with me.. and Anders? Will be a smug **** about it, because.. you know.. Fenris hate..

:(

Actually I'm starting to look forwards to the idea of ****!Anders:innocent:

Nevermind, I've convinced myself!

@SurelyForth: Nice screenshot!

Chris Priestly also said we'd see other DA characters in the new DLC. I hope it's at least as good as Legacy.

Someone mentioned Anders' belt-was there companion-specific equipment in the last item pack?

Hey, that might actually make me buy it, thinking about how Anders would gloat over Fenris asking Hawke if his drink needs refreshing. 'Cause you have to keep up appearances, you know. Disguise, subterfuge, and all that. It's all just make believe, really. You do undertand that, right, Fenris?

Actually, I've mellowed about it somewhat. I've got a cat giving himself a bath on my lap (as opposed to biting my nose and walking on the keyboard, brat that he is), and it's hard to stay grumpy when you aren't fighting off a bored "outside" cat who really wants to go outside but can't because he now lives in a city with busy streets he'd get squished on.

Edit: LT123 said "Someone mentioned Anders' belt-was there companion-specific equipment in the last item pack?"

Yeah, just like the first one. And I do mean JUST LIKE. Same bonuses to the same stats, pretty much. I bought it, but it so wasn't worth it. The new Hawke gear is ugly and the companion equipment is just like the first set.

There was a belt thing in the last mage item pack intstead of the necklace he usally gets. I quite liked its stats.

For those who asked about the item pack here is the exact stats.

Visonary Girdle (Item pack II, Belt slot - Hawke level 26): + 24mana/sramina, + 3 mana/stamina regneration rate + 10% electricity damage, + 10% spirit damage, + 21% healing by this character, improves with level up

Ring of the awakened (Item pack I, necklace slot - Hawke level 26) + 3 magic. + 6 stamina regeneration rate, + 17% fire damage, + 17% cold damage, improves with level up

Seal of Dumat (legacy, necklace slot): + 1 magic, + 2 mana/stamina regeneration rate, + 22% healing by this character.

For me it was the +healing by the belt thing that made the deal. That meant that I could actually use ring of the awakned which I couldn't before hand.

As Berilinde said the look for mage Hawke in item pack II is really, really.... eh... special, and not necassilry in a good way.

I'm not nearly as excited about the new DLC as I was Legacy, but I'll still get it for new companion banter. Since he played such a big part in the last one, I doubt if Anders will have a huge amount to say this time around. Doesn't mean I won't drag him along, but I'm not expecting him to be integral to the plot. At the very least, it seems highly appropriate for my Izzymancing rogue.

I think I just meant that I did enjoy the Origins DLC, and Legacy far surpassed my expectations - I enjoyed playing it as much as the original game, and maybe I have low standards but I don't expect DLC to be that good. I doubt the new DLC will be as good as Legacy, but that's because Legacy set the bar really high.
I haven't bought any of the item DLC so I'm definitely not looking forward to a new one of those, although maybe new companion armour would interest me - I don't care about stats, seeing as I kept Morrigan in her standard clothes right up til I defeated Flemeth in DAO but new looks could interest me

As a whole, I thought the Origins DLC was really underwhelming. Leliana's Song gave her so much more content than the other companions that it felt oddly skewed, especially if you happened to dislike her. Witch Hunt brought no answers whatsoever, despite being heralded as the resolution to Morrigan's storyline (I did replay it for storyline purposes, but it's the only one of the lot). GoA was bizarrely disconnected from everything, and Darkspawn Chronicles was just throwaway slaughter and felt like it was written for people who hated the original cast. I distinctly remember cringing when my ogre was punching the living daylights out of Zevran, or when my shriek was gutting Alistair.

So I guess I'd be happy if they got out more DLC in the same vein as Legacy. But throwing in extra party members that we don't really care about flavours disturbingly of Origins DLC.

On top of that, I won't be holding my breath for Anders-related content. He did get spoiled by Legacy, especially compared to the other LIs, so my hunch is that they'll be giving other LIs the time to shine. Given the developer hints about Orlais and the Qunari, I'm guessing Izzie and Fenris will be getting the spotlight in this one.

Still, reserving judgment until it comes out.

I shall reserve judgement as well, but I actually liked the DLC look. It seems that Tallis is actually going to be an enjoyable character. However, I do hope that it isn't so centered on this new "companion" that all the old companions get the shaft. I am going to be PEEVED if Tallis takes up a companion slot or something. Or all the cutscenes are Tallis this.. Tallis that.

I don't mind new characters, honestly, but don't obliterate my old ones just for something "oOO look shineeeeyy!"

DLC has never been Dragon Age's best quality. The DA:O ones were pretty crap. Witch Hunt -- PAH!

However, I think that is also why they are moving away from companion focused DLC and just concentrating on Hawke. I actually like that. I want to see Hawke's story "conclude" somehow.

Hm, interesting (re: the DLC). I haven't really read anything about it besides what you all have said here (is there an announcement somewhere I missed? I try not to venture outside this thread...), so I'm going to try and reserve my judgement. I did like the Guild, so I really have nothing against Felicia Day. As long as it's not focused on her, and the other companions and characters don't get shafted, I think it could be okay. I just worry it will be too much about HER and not about her character, if that makes sense?
