A few hundred pages ago, I wrote a point-by-point analysis of why (before the silly fic meme brought it up again). And it's totally exactly what I wish Hawke could say to him.

Oh no, I do think it fits. I actually brought it up here when the song first started playing on radios. It's just... I don't know. It's hard to explain. I think it's the mental image of Anders shooting fireworks out of his chest that gets me. I can't hear the song without simultaneously thinking of all the spinning and sparkling and such of the music video, and Anders at the Chantry Jenga. The juxtaposition of it tickles me.

Basically, I suppose, my Anders' songs are split into two categories. Ones that fit (to varying degrees) but make me laugh for one reason or another, and the others that fit but result in much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I also agree that, while I don't really like the song Firework (it's a little too happy and inspiriational for my cynical tastes), I can see where it can fit. However, all I can see in my head as well is Anders spinning around to it with fireworks going off around him, so. There's that. And Yami, that picture is perfect.

Yeah, I was shocked when Last Friday Night was Katy Perry too... but I was listening to a Radio Countdown, and they said something about it putting her into competition (or winning her) the record for most number one singles from an album. I was like "Nooooo, you totally had me with Firework! Stay Good!"

Also, this was the first video for Firework that I ever saw. So, while the original video is both touching and silly, this is... well I guess it's also both touching and silly.

Finally got around to listening the "Songs for Anders". There is some pretty good stuff in it, some of the songs are quite heartbreaking... I will listen to this stuff all day now while I'm packing... and it will make me think wistfully of Anders, which will only slow me down oO

It's probably a pretty uninspired pick, but my favourite Anders song ever is and will be "I'm not calling you a liar". It's not even an Anders song so much as a "Hawke in love with Anders song" I guess. It sums up my Hawke's feelings towards Anders so well, I literally had tears flowing down my cheeks when I first finished the game and that song started playing (yeah, I'm pretty emotional). I hadn't know it before, and then every line really hit home. Anders lied to Hawke... he stole from him (and if only his heart) and haunts Hawke, and still "for the grace of God go on, and when you kiss me, I'm happy enough to die".

Muahaaha found an old old post on this thread that had these . I'm going to have to go nitpick through the thread again and find some songs, and go through the Anders playlist to find some others. I always planned on doing one for myself, but if people are interested I can share. The worst part is finding the "Andersy" songs and putting them all in one place, LOL. Completely unrelated question, but I've just noticed something very strange: during Anders' romance scene, when he's in Hawke's room and touches her face...there appears to be a wisp of smoke coming from his hand. 

Is this just a weird graphical thing on my machine, or is this Anders turning on the kink, like the electricity trick he discusses with Isabela? Does it happen with a male Hawke as well?

Either way, I can't believe I've not noticed it before. And also apologies if it's already been pointed out.

In that case, we have several possibilities:

1) It was very cold outside before he arrived to Hawke's house. We're talking "verging on hypothermia" levels here.
2) He decided ice- or fire-fingers would be a good move to spice things up. I would've saved it for a little later myself, but whatever floats his boat.
3) He thinks Hawke is so smoking hawt that it literally makes his hands steam up. Or the psychosomatic effects of lust on mages.
4) Hawke is actually that smoking hawt.

I believe the common theory we've had in the thread is that it's just a basic little spell to underline what he's saying. He was just talking about how huge this is for him as a former Circle mage. He's never allowed himself to feel so much for another person until Hawke. He's forgetting about love being a liability that Templars could use against mages and giving in to his love for Hawke after three years of resisting. So that little wisp of magic- whatever it is- is a way to emphasize that he is a mage in love.

That or, you know, it's the start of kinky, kinky sparklefinger sex time. Either way.

As for Anders related fic recommendations, I would really highly recommend Surely's Maps and Legends and it's continuation Life and How To Live It. It's not finished (the first part is in Act 1 and the second part is set in Act 2) but it's excellent. And there's a lot there to read, so it should help hold you over on a long plane ride.

A gag would be appreciated. I do still haunt this thread, and I don't want too much ruined for me since I can't pick it up until Tuesday. I know some people don't mind spoilers, but I do. Or at least spoilers for things that technically aren't available for some people for another couple of days.

At the very least, if people want to talk about it, do so in other MotA related threads. Save the Andersy things for Tuesday.
