@ Sia: That's a third possibility, yes Image IPB

Has anyone else had trouble getting all the feathers? I'm starting to wonder if there is a glitch on the xbox or something. With a couple of different Hawkes, it hasn't let me pick up the feather in the vault room just before Hawke is imprisoned. Or anything on the left side (Aveline's love letters for example). It's rather frustrating since I can never get the amulet for Anders.

In other news, you seem to need to flirt with Tallis to get the marriage banter. I never got it with my Andersmancing Hawke since she didn't flirt with Tallis, but another Hawke did and he got the banter. I got it near the very end, just outside the caverns.

I ran across this issue, and it took me a while before I figured it out. Basically, you need to solve the puzzle (ie. get the door open) before it'll let you pick up those chests and whatever is on them. You can pick up one, but the puzzle needs to be done for you to be able to pick up the other. So you need to topple those statues onto the switches, then come back down and open the way to the chests, then have Hawke and Tallis stand on the last two switches. Then you'll be able to pick up the loot on both sides. It's really odd. I thought it was a glitch at first too.

Hopefully the explanation isn't too confusing.

Edit: Not again...

Have some nose then!

I managed to get them all. You need to complete the entire vault puzzle, and unlock both areas with the chests in them and then grab the feather. Also don't loot the chests until you grab it. It's a bit weird O_o

But it's disappointing what he gets though. The dumat amulet is better.

Thank you! I don't even really need the amulet. It was just driving me insane. Well, at least it's an excuse to replay again (like I need one).

So I finished up my first re-play of Awakening since Dragon Age 2 came out.

I actually teared up when Anders was all "And here I thought I'd retire to the country with a plump wife and several nubile mistresses." And then I played Witch Hunt, so I have the image of Adolescent Anders already showing violently anti-templar tendencies stuck in my head. Now I want to write a bridge story from my Warden's point of view, since I imagine that he would have left the Wardens while she was looking for Morrigan. In my head, seeing bits of him in the Tower makes her want to go visit him, but she can't because he's gone missing and/or dead.

*cries*

So here's a picture of Anders in happier times, when he was carefree (and foolish) enough to speculate as to the attractiveness of Velanna's sister:

Oh man, I know what you mean! Replaying Awakening knowing what will happen ... it's just ... aargh.

I console myself with the fact that (in my canon) Anders got his pretty girl, they had decent meals for a good few years (though I imagine the rest of their lives is going to be pretty tough) and they're working for that right to shoot lightning at fools...

Very nice picture, Anders looks quite Anders-y there, is that a mod or just good angle? Because I seen to remember him looking too much like Alistair in Awakening, but I haven't played it for a while so may be mistaken.
Also, what staff is that *want*

Must not snip fabulous picture.

I haven't been able to bring myself to replay Awakening yet. I watched a bit of my husband playing for the first time though. I could only console myself with the fact that he no longer sounds like Anders to me, since my brain switched to Anders Howden mode. Oh, and on the xbox he looks a little scary and not so much like the above picture. So he neither sounds nor looks like Anders. Somehow that makes it less depressing.

I cannot make myself mod Anders, so he's vanilla! His resemblence to Alistair usually hinges on angles. They have very similar noses and eyes, but their mouths and jaws are different.

And that's Spellfury! It can be purchased in Amaranthine for way too much gold, but I always get it for Anders after we fail to destroy his phylactery.

@Tyrium  Knowing that Anders is on his way to Hawke definitely helps a little. I just hate to think about him in that time period after the Warden left when the Wardens became a bad place for him. Poor dude thought he'd found a home of sorts and then blammy. Everything falls apart.

I havent played Awakenings in a while, but I do mourn for Anders a bit. I can't quite say I regret the progression of Anders, but sometimes looking back I get the strangest twinge of sorrow for his "normal life" lost.

The thing is, they don't sound all that different, I find. Just like they don't look all that different when you get used to the engine change (well...except for DAA on console...that's not Anders). They have similar voice pitches (Ellis' is perhaps a smidge higher), and while Howden has a somewhat more posh pronunciation, it's not mind-bendingly jarring to me. I was genuinely impressed when I heard him in DA2 for the first time, especially since I was fresh off taking my M!Amell through Awakening for importing purposes. I was getting ready to have to adjust to his new voice, but I found I didn't really have to.

But yeah, seeing Awakening Anders is always a bit of a tug at the heartstrings *looks at pic and wibbles Image IPB*

Quoted for agreement.

I hope Bioware give him back Sir Pounce-alot in DA3! If I ever get a cat I'm so naming him Sir Pounch-alot =D

I dont know why (with one being a mage the other a ex-templar) but I think Anders and Alistair would get along great, they should start a club with Oghren! Lol.

I know this is out of the blue, but did anyone else who's ran through MOTA with a romanced Anders have their Hawke comment about Anders horrible spelling?

This sorta rattled me (I pulled a "durr"), because you'd expect being given a classical education Anders wouldn't have a problem with it. My mind did immediately blame Justice though, because really do spirits even read?

@cmessaz and Tyrium

I can't remember exactly when in the DLC but it is in the instances that it's just Hawke and Tallis sneaking, I think it might of been collecting a codex or maybe collecting the "Hard in Hightown" pieces for Varrics quest. I might run through it again tonight and see if I get it again.

But yep, Hawke commented that something had worse spelling then Anders manifestos.

Oh, that would be funny. And it woul kind of make sense. I imagine that Anders would get ridiculously wrapped up in writing is manifesto, ignoring spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other conventions that make things legible in his fervor. Sure, if he were working on something he cared less about, his spelling would probably be flawless, but his manifesto? Typos ahoy!

Oh my god, lol.  Poor Anders.  I hope Hawke or Varric or someone is editing those for him before he starts leaving copies all over the city.

Killing Templars always makes me want to go shopping.

But yes...in Awakening, my non-mage Wardens just loved dressing that boy up.

Being and having dylsexica isn't easy to have. You just have to learn how to deal with and live with it.

So this is really random, but when Anders was in solitary, that was in the circle right? I mean they didn't send him to the Mage prison for that did they? Because all I can think of is the scar that would leave on him; not like being in solitary wouldn't leave one anyhow.

*sigh* Why did my Xbox have to break in the middle of my DA play through? I miss Anders.
