I ran Anders in the Mark of the Assassins DLC with Varric on one playthrough and with Aveline on the other.

The rescue fantasy... Is that dialogue you get on an Anders-Fenris playthrough? Or with some other set of characters?

I've gotten it with all of my post-romance scene imports, no matter who was in my party. Just after killing that Chasind dude in the caves after opening that gate.

Edit: You have GOT to be kidding..

I'm guessing the dialogue didn't show up in my playthroughs for some reason. I found two YouTube videos of it, and it seems like the dialogue changes slightly if it's a friend/rival romance...?

Not for me. But Hawke's response changed based on Hawke's disposition.

It is right after the fight with the Chasind yeah, as you go up the steps. I reloaded several times to see if I could trigger it again, because from what I could tell, though Fenris was in my party he didn't chime in with "Get a Room" like I had seen on You Tube. I got several other banters though, so it looks like it's not the only banter option that can trigger there.

I am under the impression that you can't have Tallis with you for that Fenris bit? I'm trying to decide on my next run through.

It doesn't always seem to happen. I got it on my first playthrough with Anders and Carver. On my second one, with Anders and Fenris, I didn't get it.

I suspect so as well, since in the vid it was only Hawke, Anders and Fen in the party. Shame, Fen's dialogue so very amusing. If you find out, let us know. ;)

On the playthrough that I got it, Tallis was still with me. So I don't know...

I ran over the trigger a few times to test it - it triggers in that cave after Cahid, but sometimes a different banter pops up. Try reloading over the trigger? 4/6 runs triggered the chains convo :D

I wonder if it is personality based? Maybe based on if you go with Fenris then move onto Anders?

I have no Andersmance to test it, lol.

I love snarky Anders as well as I said before. MotA really brought out his greatness. "Maybe they were gathering hunters?" Oh Maker Anders, the Cheese! I've missed it so. I just wanted to go "ba dum ching!" Whenever he said something snarky. I've taken him twice now. It almost has pushed me to that romance, gahhh but but...

The *snicker* laugh at Fenris... yes.. such a beautiful sound. It made me think "when was the last time I heard that boy laugh?" Then I too got a bit sad. *sigh*

It's not always right after the battle with Cahid. I got it once there, but I got it somewhere else the first time. When I first got it, I was fighting all those Tal Vashoth on my way up the mountain. So it seems like it can trigger anytime after the Chasind fight. Which, I suspect, would be how you might get Fenris' line- leave Tallis behind after the caves and just run about with Anders and Fenris. Of course you'd have to also hope it doesn't trigger before that (or trigger at all), so it would take a bit of luck.

But yes, Anders' bits of snark in MotA are glorious. His little laugh is part of the reason I always drag Fenris along. Although, I also kind of want to tell Fenris not to worry about being called a manservant because he'll get to kill them all later, ha. It also makes me wish you could have them with you at the party. I would die to see Fenris and Anders pretending to be manservants.

I had the dialogue trigger in the cave with Tallis, she just adds that it was her that actually rescued Hawke.

Yes, definitely. But it would be better if they had to wear some kind of goofy livery for it.

The images that go with this idea are priceless. I imagine Anders, in the mood he seems to be in during MotA, would get too much amusement out of Fenris' discomfort through the whole thing. And I can only imagine the snarky parallel drawn regarding deeply voiced mildly androgynous elves once Serendipity comes calling....

Oh geez... I am going to hurt myself with all this snickering...

Anders comes into DA2 in act 1. About a year after the beginning of the blight. The events of Origins are a little over a year. In between Origins and Awakening The Warden may travel, stay in court, or many other things for a short time. Where does Anders find the time to be in Awakening and act 1 of DA2?

It's a conundrum that no one's been able to solve.

He's just that good.

Seriously, this comes up from time to time. Short answer: don't let it get to you.

Random post is RANDOM.

Do we know what happened to Anders' phylactery? We know he's looking for it in Awakenings, but that turns out to be a ruse. We don't hear about it again do we? Not that I can recall... We could assume the templars stop hunting him when he joins the Wardens. But after he leaves and everything happens in Kirkwall, he'll be hunted again...

Also a creepy bit of foreshadowing I just noticed today...  Loaded a save from the end of Act 2 so I could play Exiled Prince since I hadn't yet, and randomly clicked on the Chanter standing next to the chanter's board. First thing she said was:

"And Andraste did say, "Those who bring harm onto the house of the Maker, bring harm onto the Maker Himself.'" (then she makes an ugly sound like she's clearing a dozen frogs from her throat).

<_< No matter how many times I clicked on her she wouldn't say it again. I had to reload because I thought I heard it wrong. Creeeeeepy. I absolutely love that Bioware includes details like that.

"All Hawke's base are belong to Anders."

Yes, I did just go there.

Concerning the rescue fantasy and Fenris chiming in, I got it outside while heading towards the Prosper fight (only have one MotA run-through so far). So obviously, Tallis chimed in, and Fenris didn't get to interject. I'm considering doing a run where I ditch her butt.

Yeah, I remember that one. If it makes you feel any better, just interpret it as Chantry propaganda. Because, after all, it's not like they have any concrete proof that the Maker approves of anything they do. Or even cares. Or even exists, really.

The one that gave me chills was Elthina telling Seb "death is never justice" when they're debating killing the mercenaries that offed his folks. I wanted my Hawke to turn to Anders and say "see, she's said ONE sensible thing in her life, and it HAD to be that".

Concerning the blood magic discussion...I was always under the impression that blood magic was voluntary. I thought the whole point was that you choose to use blood instead of lyrium to fuel your spells. It never struck me as something you either had or didn't have, because it's mentioned several times that mages turn to blood magic. This would mean that any mage can do it, if they so choose. Ie. I can't really imagine how you'd discover talent for blood magic by accident, since all it seems to take is choice. In that regard, I just can't see Anders with a blood mage, considering how dead-set he is against it. Although, I have seen someone mention having a Fenmancing blood mage. That's possibly even less realistic. But maybe that's just me.

And lastly, going back to the whole zombie discussion. Anders may not be coming back if you kill him. But what's to stop Justice (or Vengeance) from taking another host?

yeah that mini-Anders is fantastic! If only the artist would allow Bioware to make them commercialized. I would SO buy one!

I collect action figures and memorabilia like this, LOL. I about died when I saw it. So talented to be able to actually MAKE something like that! *all my jealousy and respect!*

Bioware should get on this.... get someone to make Dragon Age action figures and busts and collectibles! Then I could throw so much more money at them *facepalm* LOL...

The Pounce and Box of Shame just make it extra awesome. The pillow too.. <3
