BioWare has a pretty poor history of getting action figures done professionally. *is reminded of the Mass Effect figures*

ETA: Top of the page, eh? Okay. This is not mine, I found it on a google search, I think.

Daaaww! I love the style, so charming! I like how Anders is all glowy, but subtly so. The simplification of the armor and clothing designs is nicely done too. =) Thanks for sharing! ^__^

I actually prefer leaving Tallis now for the rather shallow reason that I get conversations with my companions that I would otherwise miss out on. It made such a nice change to get a pleasant chat with Anders that did not involve the mage rebellion twice on the way down the mountain. Then with Fenris and Bethany they have a pleasant conversation about how he thinks she would look good in Orlesian fashion. I just got the sense that everyone immediately is more relaxed when Tallis isn't there, which would make sense because she is a dodgy newcomer who has got them into a load of trouble, whereas even if they don't see eye to eye over issues, they have at least got used to one another by now.

With regard to the Chantry person and the quote about the house of the Maker - that is clearly Chantry propaganda and not a true quote from Andraste because there was no Chantry when she was alive, and her ashes were taken to a refuge in the Frostback Mountains, so if she did say anything of the sort it was regarding herself as the "Maker's House", but I rather suspect this is something that has been put about since the Resolutionists started attacking Chantry property. I've never seen any quotations taken directly from the Chant of Light that make any reference to it.

Love both pictures at the top.

You know, I didn't leave Tallis behind last time, but I definitely will next time, especially if it means more companion banters.

That said, my game is stalled at the moment (along with my fic, unfortunately). I've had a BG2 mod hanging over my head for the last 3 years and I finally decided to get closure with it. Which also explains why I haven't been cruising the forums.

Anyway, the Anders thread is still in my thoughts, and I've still got Sparklebutt on the brain.

I'm such a chicken. But I'm playing an aggressive Hawke now so she will probably not be amused by Tallis. I'm gonna abandon her. Maybe. >.<

I abandoned her -- it was difficult because she goes "Hawke.... please?" in the most pathetic voice, but you do get a bit more companion banter if you don't have her.

In the end it doesn't make much of a difference, but I loved how Anders was so relieved that she was gone, LOL. Gahh I forgot what he says exactly, but pretty much a "good riddance" type line, LOL.

Oh Anders, so snarky! I love his "What is it with you and helping cute elves with no self-preservation instinct?" -- I lol'ed so bad.

You are right. If I can execute *surpresses bad memories* Anders for science...I can do this.

She's being blatantly manipulative. Does that help?

Question pertaining to the topic at hand: does Tallis come back for the Prosper fight anyway? Or do you have to 3-man it if you ditch her in the tunnels? That would be the deciding factor for me. If she comes back for the fight, or if the fight isn't that much harder with 3 people, then I'll be ditching her on every subsequent playthrough.

And to make this Anders-related, have an adorable smile:

I haven't attempted it (my squishy mage would not be very good down one companion, haha), but I believe you can get that achievement for killing him without her - making it sound as though she doesnt come back? I imagine that cutscenes and that would be different then...anyone tried?

I've only played MotA once, and the boss fight was highly annoying to me. Mainly because I had him on literally like 1mm of health, and about to click my final spell..............and the game crashed.

Pretty sure I swore loudly enough to scare my puppy. Oh man did that suck, haha. Actually had a few crashes in that DLC, which is weird. I do run my games on my laptop at present, but I've rarely had the games actually crash.

Fenris and Anders are awesome snark buddies though. Laughing at each other and fighting even as they try to rescue me....aww, how cute. Sorry Anders, I am indeed a sucker for cute elves - but I still chose you in the end! (as did my warrior on my most recent playthrough. Oh god is it so much easier to play as a warrior!)

Yes Tallis comes back regardless for final boss. And unfortunately I couldn't stop Anders resurecction her in the combat evertime I 'accidently' killed her.
I ditch her most of the time if not for anything then for more Tallis free banter. (Plus my main Hawke was very, very angry with her)

Ooh, I'm going to have to dump her on my next run. More banter -> good.

Nilfasiel - that is the most adorable little smile I've ever seen - where it is from?

Isn't it just? Image IPB

It's from the scene when you give him the Tevinter amulet. The part where he says "I appreciate the gift. I hope one day I can return one as meaningful."

Hawke *points at him*: How about that? That would do nicely Image IPB

Although, now that I look at it, the Allure's Crook staff there kinda looks like a devil's tail. Now this picture just begs for some horns...Or maybe I have one with that same staff, but a more suggestive grin?

*goes to rummage among screenies*

Edit: There we go. And from the very same scene, no less! That's from the line about kittens and virgins.

My favorite expression from that particular scene is the jaw drop. I laugh every time.

I'll have to drag both the guys through MotA so I can hear Anders laughing at Fenris. The first time, all I got was Fenris muttering about the manservant comment and Varric telling him it was just a coverup.

Quick question for the Anders fans, there was an Anders weekly prompt moving along at one time, correct? I was curious if this was going to restart in any form on the thread?

Speaking of Anders smiles... not much to contribute, but I got bored and edited some Anders pics...

For you guys..

and

umm.. yeah... Nothing else to say really. I always meant to write Anders fic, but I never seem to find motivation for it, LOL.

The prompts were done by SurelyForth -- pretty sure she just stopped doing them because there wasn't much contribution/participation anymore. The group for them was.. manifestos welcome. I don't know if she will continue it though. Perhaps she could tell you more, LOL.

This came up... a couple of weeks ago? I can't remember when exactly. But the official answers is that interest and participation just dropped off. I believe, even after a week extension, there was only one submission for the last prompt. Here's a link to Manifestos Welcome. What I suggested last time this came up is that people run through old prompts for inspiration. I don't think Surely is here as often anymore but maybe someone else could take the group over if they want? I honestly don't know how groups work here.

A lot of time the people talk out of their ass when they say things like this but, I'm naming my son Anders. Believe it or not, it's happening.

Nice! And if you make a little Anders costume for him you would have the cutest, baby, evaaar. xD But seriously, I think it's a handsome name whether it belongs to our boy or not. :)

Speaking of, do we know if Anders's parents are still alive? I know he says the pillow is all he has of his mother's, but that could mean all sorts of things.

I think it would be cool if we could meet Mommy Anders in the final expansion, especially if he introduces us as his partner. I'd also love to beat Daddy Anders down, verbally or otherwise, if he's alive too. Mommy Anders would love my M!SassHawke, though, I just know it. x3

As for those who killed him, I suppose they could be confronted by her and have to explain they're sorry/they don't care/it had to be done or something.

Just a thought. :3
