More randomness from me... Does Anders' Manifesto exist in a form we can actually read? I haven't found it on the net in my searches and am at work so I can't check to see if it's in the game's codex...

I don't think so. You only get the two lines in the rival playthrough. I demand that the thing has iconic status in da3 and is distrubuted everywhere for mages to read (SO we can read it as well)

Yes, This. ^^^ And for more than just mages to read, for everyone. My canon Hawke is a fugitive with Anders and I was speculating on what the next steps would be. Of the first three things that jumped to mind one of them was distributing the manifesto more widely, and I realized I'd never actually read it. =\\

The lore is so thick and thorough in this setting, I imagine it exists even if only in that secret internal DA wiki Bioware has....

Edit for Top: Oh bugger, I have no screenshots (*shakes fist at XBox*) so here's this thing I drew last week. First attempts at Anders and my Rowen Hawke. Not happy with Anders though. =\\ Guess I'll have to practice more then! XD

I demand that there be an "Unofficial Manifesto" that is in desperate need of editing (since apparently Anders is a terrible speller), contains more than one aside about stray cats and possibly a limerick about the glory of Hawke's ass scribbled in the margins.

Do they actually say it's his spelling that's bad, or is it just his handwriting? I've never run across that banter (I think it's with Varric?), hence why I'm asking.

But yes, this would be awesome. Especially the asides about stray cats and Hawke's butt Image IPB

YES. Gawd. Someone make this happen.  I actually imagine that his master copy is very frowsy, and has lots of... "additions" in the margins and whatnot. Since every copy of the manifesto would have to be recreated by hand I'm sure his master copy has seen better days. I imagine Sandal gets a comment or two as well.

Perhaps we should all flood the what do we want to see in da3 or the next dlc threads.

Apparently there's a banter in MotA about a book they find (a sequel to one of Varric's pulp novels) and Hawke says something about the spelling being worse than Anders' manifesto.

Now I want to write this up. *adds to list*

Bah. I went and looked up Varric's dialogue page on the Wiki, and it's not listed.

I love this manifesto idea, I want to read it if it has doodles and asides about cats and Hawke's arse xD

**
About viscount Hawke on previous page, I've listened to all (I think) the dialogue from the audio files in the DLC and there is not one line recorded about Hawke being viscount, so I think you must be mistaken. Plus is has been stated officially that it IS pre final battle, as has already been mentioned.

"We will not stand by this injustice, and we urge all mages to rally behind--"

(next part is repeatedly crossed out, as if looking for the best way to phrase the rest of the sentence; and the following s scribbled in the margin)

How glorious is my love's behind--
Round as an apple, soft as a ripe peach,
And when unquiet dreams trouble my nights,
How comforting to have it within reach!

Edit: Oops, forgot to add spelling mistakes...

We should totally do some sort of Anders thread fanifesto. Whoever wants could write a section of manifesto- complete with any desired additions and spelling mistakes- and then we could gather them all together. It would be glorious.

Although, I'm not entirely sure where people could post or compile it as we probably shouldn't just fill up the thread with manifesto bits.

I was going to handwrite something fancy, like a preamble with a tangent about feathers and the way Hawke's mabari has a tendency to curl up on Anders' feet and it's fine, he supposes, until they fall asleep and Anders hates the tingling, but my tablet isn't working. I do love this idea, however and clearly think that Anders' writing process is incredibly similar to mine, only with less tumblr.

I think having several people help write the manifesto could work wonderfully. The more disjointed the better... it would show Anders state of mind while writing it.

On an unrelated note, I'm doing a "for science" Rivalmance and have a question. Do I do Justice, or do I turn him down?

You have to do it if you want to finish the romance.

I'll be more than happy to jump in on the manifesto. I'd have to do it in Photoshop, though, so that I can simulate burn marks depicting a page that Hawke pulled from the fire place. Who did that, I wonder? Sandal, Bodan or the Elf servant?

I think we could have fun assembling this either in Photoshop or by some creative layering in a webpage. I think we need a few paw prints too, for after he puts the milk out. Little doodles, scuff marks, rips, water/tear stains, creases and crumples, ink smears and blots... Silly notes, shopping lists, don't forgets, etc... And I suppose a few scratched out phallic doodles thanks to Isabela.  (Maybe that's a tribute to Coffee, Black. XD)

I could do some writing but my specialty is more in graphics. I know a little HTML/CSS too, and have web host.

It's been over a month since I popped my head in here to read all the Anders' induced ramblings. Now some of you are talking about actually writing a manifesto... oh Anders thread you never cease to amaze me! <3

hee... Anders' manifesto eh? That is quite the task. I'm curious to see what people would come up with. I also wonder how long the Manifesto actually is. What he reads to you is only a few pages, but it also is just a small fraction. A few sentences at best.

I think just writing a Manifesto in general would be difficult. Spelling errors and off-topicness aside... what kind of arguments would Anders put in there? You know, beside the fact that "If the Maker blamed magic for the Black City.. then why does he still gift mages with it?"

I always found that small excerpt rather fascinating, but I so wanted more, LOL. I'm sure I'm not alone.

As for the fireplace... maybe Anders threw it in there himself. An unsatisfactory draft? An edit he didn't like? He would no likely have many, many drafts, and write/re-write and correct his mistakes over and over.

I see it more like a small booklet, not like a full blown book or tome though. I also agree it should be a monumental/legendary item in DA3 -- in which the protagonist and every mage in the world has a copy or at least knows about it, LOL. Like Andraste's Ashes.

I would pay for a copy of the manifesto - I think it would be fascinating!

I'd love to help with the "fanifesto" if we ever do get it off the ground! We'll have to be careful with Hawke though, we'll want to avoid gender/class/personality references, which could be tough ...

I totally sat down with the Chant of Light last night and pounded out a page of crazy ramblings. Now I just need to add some very random asides, drift into quite a few tangents, and photoshop in a few doodles of kitties or some such.

As for Hawke, I was considering that particular conundrum. It will be difficult. I think the best way to do it would be to keep any asides about Hawke short and vague. Too long and it would be hard not to throw in at least a few descriptors.

To keep it from being gender specific, you could stay with Hawke's cute butt, Hawke's shiny full hair, Hawke's cute face (you get the remark that Hawke is cute in Legacy no matter the gender).

13 hours.... Anders thread... I'm sad.

Anyways I'm guessing there isn't much to add and everyone seems to be missing this week, LOL.

I don't bring much to the conversation, but was going back through Tranquility and doing a bit of Anders research. Was thinking about his reaction in that first conversation about Justice being a demon.

I know it has been gone over a bajillion times, but is there any time where Anders actually refers to himself as "us?" As if he did actually have two separate people in his head? I don't remember any kind of dialogue where he uses a plural to talk about himself. "We" or "us" or something like that. Even in the end of rivalry where he says "I took a spirit into myself..."

I just think that Anders really does see it as a true merger, and even though on rivalry he seems to struggle more... he still doesn't see it as something separate in his own mind.

Basically just in one of those moods where I am re-hashing theories and thoughts. Challenging things in my mind and looking at them from different angles. I do that from time to time.

Also... has this been posted?

Interesting points. As far as I can recall, he doesn't refer to himself in the plural. In fact, he says "Justice and I are one" at some point in Act 1. Also, in the Isabela banter, he tells her that "it's always me".

Anders as Ser-Pounce-A-lot... maybe in Act 1 he would... Image IPB
