I'm reading through the thread, too. I just made it to page 800. I can only get through ten-to-twenty page spurts in between classes and work, and I can usually only make it through fifty pages maximum in a day. It's amazing how you guys powered through so much within the first month the game was out, managing to fangasm and debate and worship Mereanders all at the same time. I'm so upset that I haven't been lurking since then and was present for any of the insanity until page 2000.

I'm trying to read the whole thread as well. I don't think I've made page 150 yet. BUT! We have some great mod makers here, so can I request someone substitute Anders for Donnic at the Hanged Man scene? Nothing like having Aveline waving you off warningly from him at the end, ha ha ha.

Also: In trying to romance Fenris/Isabella/Anders I decided I really did not want to rival Anders and tried to U-turn late in Act 2. Because of the DLC's I was able to achieve the love scene on Friendship in Act 3. I haven't seen that anyone has managed "the kiss" scene that late yet. Kudos if you did! (I will try to catch up farther, heh!)

But I backed up to a previous save to see if I could get all the way through a Fenris romance and even while dodging all the romance options, Anders went for a glomp/kiss at the end of the rivalry stuff just doing diplomatic conversation! Boy, he makes it hard to resist romancing him instead! Darn woobie eyes.

I just read elsewhere that Pounce was supposed to be in the game, hanging out around the clinic/Hawke's mansion, but they had to cut him out because they would've had to redesign him and a whole bunch of animations (I'm assuming Anders would've interacted with him, because duh), and they didn't have the money or time to keep him.

I'm crushed by this. And now the pic I posted up top looks like how I feel about this.

As for SWTOR- it is fantastic and now I will have to try this "romance" thing, lol. Esp Now... geez.

The end song always,made me think of Anders/Hawke as well. Nothing in there for Varric. Mage's Pride as well is completely Anders. It still feels kind of forced though, if you didn't romance Anders. Yet, it is still fitting.

Oh and hi Anders thread, haven't been here in a while, but I've been lurking.

I still harumph when I don't hear it play in the game.

There are a lot of things to tear apart in Hawke's mansion, that's a good kitty playground for sure.

Still, this confirms that DA2 could have been sooo much better with a bit more of time and resources :x

Even if the first time I've played I didn't romance Anders, my Hawke surely felt a bit betrayed. They were friends after all. Not to mention I liked Anders from Awakening, so The song was really a punch in the gut...I can understand why it fits to Varric too, but still. I honestly think that anyone after finishing the game would think of Anders as "the liar". In my mind it just confirms the theory that the protagonist of DA2 was Anders all along. We were watching the story with Hawke's eyes, while he/she tried to do what he/she could.

"Mage's Pride" is my favorite track in the OST. Along with Fenris' theme, even though I doubt Fenris would be happy to have his theme so similar to one called Mage Pride xD And another great track was "Tavern Music", especially the "battle theme" that I think we hear just once in the game.

I would have loved it , if Pounce would have been in the game. Would have been funny to see him interact with the dog, after Anders moved into the mansion :-)

I was reading the Anders page on the Dragon Age wiki and I came across this in the Romance section: "If Hawke chooses to side with the templars, they will have what appears to be a final farewell kiss before the last battle and Anders is not mentioned in the epilogue".

I didn't know Anders had a final kiss scene. Is there a video of that anywhere? I couldn't find anything, but I thought I'd check in here to see if anyone knows anything. ^^

This sounds so selfish, but I wish that the friendship path got an end-game kiss as well. Or a hug at least.

I kind of like only getting a kiss at the end of the templar ending, to be honest; it's their last pretty much any way you slice it. It's heavily implied that Anders commits suicide at some point after that battle, what with the "If I die, perhaps it will be Justice and not Vengeance that rises from my corpse" and the "I will always love you" and the "I cannot risk losing myself to him [Vengeance] again" talk.

I dunno, I do wish we got some sort of hug or something with the mage ending, but I do understand that it wouldn't feel quite right. It's more tragedy porn-like if he only kisses Hawke with a sense of finality.
