I agree.  Anyone arguing against full solitary confinement needs to revisit the mage origin(s).  When you go looking for Jowan's phylactery, there are dozens of cells down there.  Some look like they've been converted to living quaters, yes.  Others have piles of bones and rags in them you can loot for equipment and pennies.  My guess is, Anders is in one of those.  Just not in the section you're wandering around.

THAT's where Anders was held.  It's also possible he was held there while Uldred had his uprising since you cannot open that door when you go back.

Ah, you're right.  It has been quite a long time since I last visited DA:  Origins.  I thought those cells were at the bottom of the Arl's keep.  I am quite tempted to do another playthough of the series with all the information I have now to see how it looks from the new perspective.  Ander's DA:  Awakenings quotes on YouTube do indeed take on a different cast when viewed backward through the lens of DA2.

It's implied that he was still in solitary during the mage origins more than once, too, isn't it?  What with his talk of Mr. Wiggums beign possessed by a rage demon (which can't possibly have been an average Tuesday) and whatnot, I mean.  I know he's mentioned a few times in Witch Hunt, but I never played it.

I would've been shocked if he never came up at all in Asunder.

I want to read Asunder now more than ever, even if it is only a small mention of him. Also Fiona FTW.

Ah, some mention of an aftermath! How some of the other characters we've known react to what happened in Kirkwall! Now I am actually intrigued.

Edit:  You know, I'm usually considering songs for Hawke and Anders but I think "Building Steam" by Abney Park might actually fit for the Friendship Fenris that helps the mages.

Question for the mod experts: Is it possible to swap out f!Hawke's "finery" for Merrill's elf-in-hightown outift? I really don't find the smoking jacket sexy on f!Hawke. It works okay on m!Hawke but I am still not big on the colors.

Also, at the end of Act 2 Varric says to Cassandra:  "What is this all about?  Are you looking for an infamous apostate?"  I've been playing mages lately so I was assuming the reference was to Hawke.  But I have, belately, realized that it is probably related to Anders.  If Anders were dead, then why would she need to hunt for him years later?  Now, whether or not it is Anders or Justice running about leading a revolution is utterly up for grabs.  But it continues to make me hope we will get an Anders trilogy.  (And ever since the River Song arc in Doctor Who, I have really been fond of having tales follow a main character but actually revolve around a secondary character for long periods.)  <3  ^_^

@Gyrefalcon: No, I believe she's referring to Hawke. If you play a rogue/warrior she says something different if I remember right. Besides Anders is confirmed to be dead if you kill him. :(

So, who's up for some holiday themed awesome courtesy of YamiSnuffles, our patron saint of cracky goodness?

(sorry, I saw "Anders" and "dead" in the same sentence and I had to)

Aww, Ser Glows-a-lot. Is Varric on the left there supposed to be Santa? That part might be best filled by the Arishok, since he's big enough to fit anyone on his lap. The drawback is that his response to any of their Christmas wishes would most likely be "No."

The idea of everyone from DA sitting on the Arishok's lap while he'd dressed like Santa just made my night.  Thanks Fox! :wizard:

Ha ha ha, that is just perfect. Anders took a break from writing manifestos to write up a wish list for Santashok. Ha ha ha! XD

If he's not much of a giver, Arishanta would at least always take the time to eat the plates of cookies and milk the children put out for him. I bet he'd look really smashing with a beard, too.

You know the Arishok might actually like cookies, Sten did. It would seem that all who are not Qunari would be on the naughty list. Instead of receiving coal you just lose your big toe. :D

Yes it is!
I was reading the free extract from Amazon, but now that you confirm there is some mention of Anders, I will buy it as soon as I can.
I already saw another familiar character too :)

*Anders is the true protagonist of Dragon Age...mage, "possessed" by a Spirit/Demon", tainted Grey Warden, Destroyer of Chantries! He has every possible issue in the Dragon Age World lol* - Oh wait, he is not an elf, at least (don't get me wrong, I love elves, but in the DA society they aren't in a good position).

Santashock made me laugh to tears btw, it is always so good to come back in this thread...

In the psychological disorder topic going on a couple of pages before... just a quick ramble: 1) Dyslexia and other language disorders are more likely to be a factor, not a consequence, for later emotional issues, specially during childhood; anyway, the "spelling" mention by Hawke looks more to me like something which usually happens to people with anxiety-related issues when expressing theirselves about things they care of a lot, such as Anders writing his manifesto. 2) I personally don't believe much in the way psychiatrist make their diagnostics, because they try to fit patients into one or several of their patrons of disorder, which happen to be still very few -not like in other kinds of medicine, but already in Awakening I'm close to think of BPD because of many behaviours that are very common among people who suffer from it -self-destruction, hyperactivity, very pronounced mood changes and a continuous tendency to anger and even violence against some things mixed with an opposite affective and tender ways towards others.

Sorry about this wall of text, just that the topic was very close to me, for good or not, and there's no way to tidy up my thoughts before posting... in fact I read the discussion a couple of days and was thinking about it.

About Assunder... I know that you all are careful enough with spoilers, but better if I quickly skip everything related every time I read this topic, because the Anders mention made me even more eager to get it. Too bad I live in Delay-land, and that means waiting till the Spanish translation comes up... Bah, I'll get the original version. Who said fear?

The Santarishok thing has made my day... well, my night. For a while I'm forgetting how much I dislike the Qun. It seriously needs some Isabela in his lap asking for a peaceful solution about the relic before the whole Act 2 mess-up happens.

Edit: F/%* YEAH Dunizel's whole signature! <3

Thank you Dunizel!  That was an awesome clip.  (And it has successfully derailed me from what I should be doing!  Ha ha ha!)  It was nice to see more insight into how the voice actors approach the job.

And Arishanta...I like it!  Well played!  (Good kids get copies of the Kun on under the plate that previously held cookies.)
