You are entitled to believe that  but its a known fact that its a glitch.

It was discussed way back when this thread started.

Its even mention on several past threads that list bugs.

You have the option of having Anders leave the Party in Dissent.

That scene is only supposed to come up if Anders has left the party. Its a glitch pure and simple.

Sorry, I didn't state that properly.Posted Image
What I actually meant was I can see that it's a glitch/bug and the scene shouldn't happen if the romance is still active.

I agree with everyone else. I mean, really, the look Anders gives you as you walk by suggests that things aren't going well between the two of you.

The scene can't be a glitch on my rival playthrouh, Varric was all: I have opened a tab for Blondie as a courtesy for you Hawke.
So unless it is possible to romance Anders and have him leave at the same time the scene can't be a glitch.

Do we know what the scene is supposed to be then if you haven't asked Anders to leave?

Argh! Now I'm totally confused. I'd forgotten about Varic's line. Posted Image

I don't know if it's a glitch or not, but I saw this pic and thought this would be Anders reaction to people thinking he's a glitch!

Somehow the scene fits with my rival Hawke playthrough, my canon one not so much. In my canon playthrough I just roleplay that Hawke is suprised that Anders is out at all.

It should only trigger if you tell him to leave after Dissent or if you're rivaling him.  It's not supposed to trigger at all if you're on the friendship path or romancing him (on either relationship path).  It's jarring otherwise.

Really?? That ... makes so much more sense! I'll just ignore it in my Andersmancing playthroughs from now on, then. A bit like how there were problems getting Varric's Friendly Concern quest to trigger for any LI except Anders ...

Thanks for the heads-up!

:wizard:

You're welcome. It was jarring for me too. It would be nice if they corrected that in a patch.

Do you know if anyone has reported those glitches to the Powers-That-Be?  I'd assume someone has, but you know what happens when you assume...

No, varrics comment was specfic romancewise. So it is definitly set to trigger on a romance rival path. But i agree it is jarring with friendship.

I've only ever had it trigger when he isn't romanced (because I never make him leave), and I've never had it turn up on either romance path or in a friendly playthrough. I must have a variation of the glitch, then. I'm a console player, so I guess I'm stuck with it either way. XD

I am a ps3 player so I it not like I can do something. What was your relationship with Varric, my Hawke was rivalled with him as well perhaps that had something to say too.... So confusing.
I could never make Anders leave, act 2 and act 3 without AndersPosted Image

I've only ever friendmanced Anders, and it plays every time. I don't see how it could be a glitch - the opening is a little jarring, yes, but the reason Anders is on Varric's tab is as a favour to Hawke. I figured it only showed up on romance...

The scene would make no sense if Anders left in Dissent, and I seem to remnember it being said that it playing then was the glitch...

Have we had official Bioware confirmation it's a glitch? If so, could someone point me to it?

I always took it as having something in common with the other "couple" in the game, Aveline and Donnic. There is a whole conversation of how Aveline had no idea that Donnic was visiting Fenris and playing cards. Nothing nefarious, but Aveline acknowledges that the guys need some time with just the guys. I really saw it as much the same. And if Anders looks a bit distant, well, he just got caught in the middle of his "guys night out" with Varric. It never seemed out of place or jarring to me because of the Aveline/Donnic conversations both with Fenris and with Isabella.

(Actually, I was more disturbed that my dog seemed to be visiting the bar on his own.  I mean, how does he work the handle?  And who is paying for whatever he's drinking?)

I was totally confused by the comparison until I realized your Hawke must be a girl

Since the writing contest is over, here is the Anders piece I wrote.  I'll be changing it to fit my personal Warden and Hawke once I get the rest of the story finished.

Playing Act III now, I just got some new party banter (Anders&Fenris) I've never heard before.

Fenris: You are ... living with Hawke?
Anders: What is it to you?
Fenris: Be good to her. Break her heart, I'll kill you.

I romanced Fenris but went to Anders later since Fenris had left me (It was all my plan though 8D hahaha).

... should I have posted this in Fenris supporting thread?

Nah, we're all friends here!  ^-^  You are allowed to like both.  And that banter is a good one.  Right up there with "Don't bare your heart to me mage unless you would have me rip it out!"  The banter they have is awesome.

Oh, yes, that's true!  Hee, hee, hee.  I suppose it makes less sense with male!Hawke.  ;)  I've been playing female!Hawke's so far.  Have a cannon run to do then will play with a male!Hawke PC.  :D

Got the new GameInformer.

Not only was DA2 on the "Most Disappointing" list, Anders was on the list of "Biggest Dorks". They called him a whiner and his character an utter failure.

Not my words, for the record.

A few of us on Tumblr are sending them Katie Bour's essay defending Anders, credits to her and a link to it on her blog, because no one else has made as powerful an argument in such a profound and empathetic way as she has.

And there went my list belief in the integrity of game critics. I will never listen to a review again in my life since da2 have proved that they review with whatever the current hype is.

Anders is the most beliaveable and nuanced character ever presented in a good example of that you can't save people who don't want to be saved.
