My reaction when the chantry blew up was pretty much to drop the controller and think bioware dare to change status quo in a roleplaying game. Then I replayed the scene because I had not heard a word anyone had said. I don't know about hug options though. Personally I don't like to be hugged or hug.

I don't think I could forgive Anders for that act of terrorism, so I metagame around it (or blame Justice). However, when I first played it, my jaw did drop, not so much because I thought "poor Chantry", but rather, how in the world could you do this and hurt innocent people, Anders?!! I have no love for the Chantry, and I support Anders' cause, but he REALLY went about it the wrong way. That being said, I looove that bound pic of Anders. Probably my fav. I *need* a wallpaper sized one for my computer. <drools>

I actually agree with his action - after I had spent a lot of time thinking it through, but even if I hadn't I would never had killed him because killing a person that doesn't fight back just is incredible hard for me to do in a roleplaying game.

I don't think I'd ever have the heart to kill him.  I'd tell him to leave.

I guess it's a very murky area.  In my thinking, blowing up the Chantry means you have killed the uber-devout violently anti-mage crowd (those who think and act like Meredith) but also probably a whole lot of regular Chantry priests and priestesses, who are just going about their business and maybe secretly indifferent/supportive to the mage cause.  If Anders targeted only the leaders or those causing trouble, then I might think differently.

The mage suppression in the DA world is akin to some of the real world's worst atrocities.  Something big and drastic *needs* to be done, but at what cost?

Oh, I am definitely not a hugger, but therein lies the benefit of playing a male Hawke; it's all about the show, ladies! Cause yeah if it were me there and not Hawke, I'd probably just pat the guy awkwardly on the shoulder.  "Uh, there, there, big guy.  We'll get through this, uh, together."  Whereas I want my Hawke to be all, "Baby, don't cry!!  *man hug*  

I think with a female Hawke I'd want her to be kinda tough and just be like, What the hell have you gotten me into, muffin?!  (Because in my mind she calls him "muffin."  Deal.)

Sebastian  Yeah I saw that YouTube Clip LOL "Maker, NOOOOoooo..."  I think the voice actor for that guy took a mental holiday some days, not that he doesn't have a perfectly lovely voice and all.

Slightly off topic:
We had some discussion on who would make a good Anders if they did him into a movie. The bust pic certainly helps cement his irl appearance a bit more (no pun intended). Would anyone change their choices based off that?

And does anyone think that the singer Lindsey Buckingham would make a good Orsino?

I dunno who would play Anders ... actually I would not want a DA2 movie, unless Hawke had three twins (er, I mean, quadruplets), that way someone could romance all four love interests. I'd go with male Hawke for Fenris, female for Anders, male for Isabela, and female for Merrill.

I think Ryan Gosling actually would make a super hot Anders. But also a hot male Hawke. (My Hawke's have been blond lately.)

EDIT: Okay, actually game related question and not just fangirling.  I want to romance Isabela and Anders.  I want to be able to actually sleep with Isabela, both of them agree it's just for fun, then solidify the romance with Anders and have him be Hawke's ultimate LI.  Is this possible?

Hey, does anyone here know how far you have to be along the romance for Anders to turn up after "All that Remains"? I've only ever done it after they sleep together (I love Leandra's comment), but it's a major mood whiplash to go from that to "The Long Road"...

IMHO, I see Anders and kind of see Kurt Cobain in my head.  It's actually a pretty good comparisson, too, except Kurt was short and it's fanon that Anders is tall and they have different eye colors, but whatever.  It's a  little cracky, sure, but seriously, I think Anders would rock the hell out of the grunge look.

No, I don't have a type.  What are you talking about?

You have to pick the what about love option (the other option than it is just for fun) and ask all the questions and then pick (i think it was the upper option, but I think it was obvious anyway). Of course you have to do it before Anders question belief. 
It should succed because I did it in my Fenris - Isabella-Anders playhtrough.

@motomotogirl: You don't have to pick "what about love," actually, because in my rogue playthroughs I romance Fenris, then Isabela and pick the "just for fun" option, and then I wind up with Anders.

Oh goody!!  I didn't want my Hawke to have to lie to her.  In my playthrough, he's dying for some action (he's been to the brothel twice xD) so he's gonna smex with her but tell her it's just for fun, if she's okay with that?  Then swoop in and romance Anders

You do have to pick it for her outfit change (or perhaps mine glitch out, there was a problem with it at one time), with was what you asked, but correctly for the banters and Anders comment when he comes to you, you don't have to go any longer than simply sleeping with Isabella.

Hmm... Then I must have tried it in a pre-patch run throuhg. That is very likely since I have never really felt like romaninc Isabella for anything than Anders little jealous comment when he comes to Hawke. Glad it worked out.
