Now I love Anders. But did y'all read in the magazine Game informer that Anders is listed in the top 10 dorks of 2011?

Don't you know that having an agenda outside the player character makes you an dork.
Just ignore them, all the review have proved is that they go with what is the hype. When da2 came out it was the best because hype was high, now it is not because the negative hype was high and any game critic that actually uses words like whiner and dork are too immature to be taken seriosuly.

I take it that you read the same thing as I did.

I think the only way he seems dorky to me is his fervent love of kittens and all things fluffy and cat-like. xD Oh Anders... tehehe.

Alright, Anders may be a bit of a dork, but he's a *cute* dork, which makes it forgivable. ^_^

I take it things have slowed down while the Asunder writing contest results are about to go up. Heh. ;) I am contemplating doing a male!Hawke character soon. But currently I have Anders wandering in the Anderfels, I mean Skyrim. I need to wean myself off of the drug that is Anders slowly, I think.

Ah, the results have been posted! I did not make the cut. Some of the people whose stories I read made the top 20 though! I think I was probably a bit too conservative in my story choice, but I really did like it and thought it was a worthwhile gamble. Congrats to those of you who won, and to those who did not...YOUR story got read by one of the writers of Dragon Age!! You actually got your work seen by the higher ups, and they liked a lot of what they saw. Kudos!

Now back to the Anders discussion!

I didn't make it either :( I hope it wasn't just because I started my story with a description. I'd be mega pissed they passed just because that was a pet peeve. Oh well, I get about 1000 readers per month on FF.net.

Back to working through my DA:O-DA2 story.

@slyborg: It may have been that, or as David pointed out, they may have been tired or distracted when they got to your story. He acknowledged that they were human and they may have had a couple stories slip through the cracks. But part of it is about knowing your audience. We went in somewhat blind and sent what we all thought would work.

You and I and even Miri did not quite hit the mark this time, but having the writing tips now for what they are looking for and a few examples of what they liked will help us all on the next round. I'm pretty sure my story fell under the heading of "didn't go anywhere" but I tried writing a cut scene. It is where we see most of the dialogue shine with DA and I was a touch worried as to what amount of violence or sex was "too much". (I wish they had come out with a complete set of rules at the start. I wasn't sure if we had to be G-rated, PG-rated, or PG-13 rated, I know of other site contests that can have very strict limits for submissions even though the main content is a bit racier or edgier.) I played it a bit too safe and went to the slush pile. I chose my arrow and missed the target audience. I'm still pleased with what I wrote but I can see better what they were looking for.

I'm sure we will all do better on the next one.

So, Anders discussion: I tried creating Anders for Skyrim, and low and behold! I swear the voice actor for Fenris did some of the Imperial Guards at one of the encampments. Send Anders to another game world with dragons and wouldn't you know that Fenris would follow him. Ha ha ha ha ha. (That's all I've got right now. I haven't switched back to DA2 yet, although Skyrim's glitches are ticking me off mightily right now.) ;)

I've heard Gideon (Fenris) in quite a few games unexpectedly. It's hard to miss his voice, being so distinct. Anders' accent and voice tone is a little more common.

That's a wonderful sunset pic. Nice to see Anders in more casual clothes at the beach. The boy never seemed to get a day off once Justice was a part of his psyche. Although, listening to the comments from DA: Origins, he didn't like the wilderness anymore than the tower. But swimming didn't seem to bother him much when he escaped. Heh.

Oh, for the video makers who need more material, there are more sound bites that could be culled from these I suppose:

What has happened to all the delightful Anders talk?
*Pouts*

Ser Pounce Alot Rivalry +100

Anyway, I have a question hopefully someone can answer. I've been tearing my hair out over this.

In the Anders romance, when he says that love in the circle was only a game, it gave the templars to much power, and that it would kill him to loose Hawke, my Hawke mysteriously says "This, isn't going to fix that."

But on YouTube videos I've seen her tell Anders "You aren't going to loose me."
I'm starting to think this game is trolling me out of this dialogue. \\:

You're trolling yourself out of that dialogue, I'm afraid. :P The things Hawke says here is personality-specific. "This isn't going to fix that" is something only sarcastic-dominant Hawkes says, while diplomatic!Hawke says "You aren't going to lose me." Not sure what Aggressive!Hawke says.

You talk too much... (Perhaps)?
I honestly don't remember, but I think it was either the sarcastic remark as well or something that equal, 'just get on with it'.

So, basically, "shut up and screw me?" Oh, AggroHawke. Such a romantic.

As for Anders fluff, well. If the people so desires, I could draw a stick-figure Anders with a stick-figure Hawke riding on a giant Ser Pounce-a-lot into the sunset.

The giant Ser Pounce-a-lot alone would be worth it.
