Not that there are a whole lot of abomination-men to choose from, but my point still stands.
@ FallTooDovahkiin, esper - Glad to be of service!
@Klepz - Hm, hard to say. From what I've heard of it, the plot doesn't seem connected to the whole mage-templar conflict at all, so I'm going to guess that he won't be. Not significantly, at least. I could be wrong.

"A Fragrance of Justice" made me rofl
I think as of now Anders can only be mentioned. It s inevitable because he set in motion great events, but I don't think we will see him much since he is dead in so many games and anyway he should be on the run. It is a bit of a shame, I would have really liked to see him have a bigger role in the "revolution", but I don't think it will be possible.
Still, I read Asunder and while there is nothing significant about Anders, it left me some other doubts about spirits and demons and abominations.

And I am hoping that having this thread run the longest and strongest will buy a chance for our favorite kitten-loving apostate to have a chance to survive and be a part of the rebellion in DA3. I could deal with him being a footnote at the bar or a short cut scene. But I'd adore it if he got to be Anders, leader of the Mage Revolution if he lived or Justice, leader of the Mage Revolution if he was killed. Having him be either a scary ally or a terrible foe (if playing a templar in DA3) would be awesome!!
Is anyone up for starting a "give Anders a kitten or retrieve Sir-Pounce-Alot" thread for a DLC piece (especially for April 1st giveaway)?

@LadyofPayne: Thanks for the pics!I think I would play a Mafia game if there were more elves and Anders in it. I usually hate the whole genre after reading "The Mafia Is Not An Equal Opportunity Employer" by Nicholas Gage. Pretty horrific look inside the real Mafia. But elves and wizards in the Mafia? Sounds like Cyberpunk or Shadowrun and I can get behind that. ^-^

Oh my, I thought I'd see if there were any announcements about new DLC's. Instead it turns out that people have been calling and harassing Jennifer Hepler. Bioware is supporting her and taking donations for an anti-bullying group in Canada. I am grateful they are supporting her and horrified by some of the comments getting thrown up! I should just hide in here where the Anders love washes away all the hate from the other threads. *shudders*

And I love how people are taking the opportunity to talk about how horrible a job she did with Anders in there. I seriously...BSN has become a horrible place.
I love Anders, he's my favorite LI in any game, DAO, DA2, Skyrim...any game. Were there a few things I wish had been done differently? Sure...but still. I can't think of any game where I wouldn't have liked something done differently.

Some didn't even bother to read what she actually said. And who did, well, just jumped to his twisted conclusions.
And in any case, that isn't really the way to make a critic or express your ideas. All my support to Ms. Hepler, I just hope they put all this mess behind and don't even bother to feed the trolls. Though I can understand that you might want to answer to personal offences.
And I just laugh at the people who goes "Watch a movie instead of playing videogames". Yeah, sure, because I can make decisions in a movie and make my character react in certain ways. As much as the two media are getting similar, they probably fail to see the differences.
Moar kittens in the world and in Darktown!

I honestly love the DA fandom on Tumblr. None of the crap that is on BSN anymore. Kinda like the old Alistair thread a year ago.
I found a screenshot of Anders doing the best puppy eyes ever and now I must dig through my saves, find that particular conversation, and punch the Print Screen button until I can get it myself because that's half the fun.
Must stop looking at Persona 3 stuff on tumblr.

LOL Sometimes I feel like the only one who loves what they with him. I like tragedy. I'm concerned with what the future holds for his character but...we shall see. I do have an issue with how they kinda...IDK how to explain but I felt like at the end they used him as a throw away character if that makes sense? I feel like they gave you more reason to justify the other characters when they did something bad or wrong..but not as much for Anders? IDK how to explain. I LOVE Isabela so much...but she really screws up and gets alot of people killed. But somehow it's easier to forgive her and IDK why like I don't even think twice about it. Ugh am I making any sense?
And sorry Alistair. I may have spent almost a year on a mod for you, but I love Anders more!Would probably spend 2 years on a mod for Anders with a toolset!
@cmessaz: Ha ha! I would love to see what you come up with after 2 years of effort. ^-^
@all: I sort of went into a long message after I finished DA2 about the issue cmessaz is bringing up here. Did anyone else feel that Anders was made into a sacrificial goat for the storyline? I believe some of the players who were upset about the changes between DA and DA2 were expressing some of this concern.
Myself, I saw it as taking some of the power away from the PC. With Isabella, you have the choice of helping her even if she may try to screw with you for it. With Anders, you don't get to know what he is doing, he takes action independent of the PC. I really think this is what makes the game great and really upset people.
The player usually has the chance to choose a side or to determine who lives or who dies across the board. Sometimes you can't stop the events (i.e. Grace and Thrask) but you are in the thick of it. But Anders has a life outside of the PC.
Thinking about it, his plot is SUPPOSED to echo Isabella's really. Isabella announces she needs your help to get the book. She betrays you. A lot of people die in the city because of her actions. You have to save the city.
Anders announces he needs your help. He betrays you. A lot of people die in the city because of his actions. You have to save the city.
Yet there is one supreme difference: we don't know exactly what Anders is after. Caught up in the writing and voice acting (or even the usual expectations from playing similar games), it is possible to utterly miss or to dismiss the clues being laid out about Anders plan. Otherwise, the PC expects it to be a whimper not a bang, or that they will get to difuse things or pull the trigger. But no!
Not only does Anders get to act w/o the player's input, the player can have several storylines truncated. All your plans go to waste. It is like a car crash on the way to a party or interview. Life is interrupted in a shocking way, likewise, Anders pre-emptive act interrupts the game before completion if the player is not using outside information and isn't supremely lucky.
It elevates the game, it elevates the power other characters are allowed to have in "your story". But it can indeed feel like Anders was sacrificed to the story. But David Gaider mentioned in his writing do's and don't's that to spare the characters is to deny them immortality. If the game did not run as it had, would there be such extreme devotion or hatred for Anders character?
Now we have discussion to go with the excellent brain-bleach pics people have been putting up. (Many thanks to all of you helping to cleanse out the ick from the not-this-thread.)
And keep being the awesome people you are! You make the forums fun again!
