One of the problems with dialogue in DA2 is that they would have it trigger as you are about to leave an area. I kept missing bits when I was focused on going to the next quest point and suddenly realizing the group had started spouting some new banter that I hadn't heard before and probably wouldn't hear again. :P At least the multiple playthroughs helped to catch more of it but I would rather it trigger farther back from the exit so I could slow down for it. (Apparently the developers thought we would want to leisurely stroll around the long empty corridors, lol.)

Edit:  Okay, I went to the announcements and requested that they allow Anders or Justice to have his kitty back in the epilogue since they seem to be done with DLC's.  If any of you would like to jump on that bandwagon, leave them a note.  Also, if there were any things you wanted to see fixed or changed, it is a good time to mention it to them.  As long as it is respectfully done, I am sure they will consider it.  They are looking for some feedback for the next one.

(Crosses fingers so that Anders gets to live!!)

My Orzomarr brigde in da2 was the stairs in the hanging man. There were also a good spot right when you entered hightown.

The hightown market - I use that one a lot too. I run down the stairs of the docks and then exit again and go to hightown - back and forth.

And the gallows of course, but for story rpg reason that one is weird.

Oh I made mentioned on that topic about keeping Anders alive. Honestly I think if Gaider kills off Anders and or Hawke, he would have a lot of pissed off fans standing outside his house with pitch forks and torches.

My small worry is what is going to become of my Hawke and Anders when DA3 is released. Since Hawke's story was not completed (by any means) it is left in the writers hands. In some ways I want to know what happens, in other ways I don't want to know.

IF it does go bad, I'll be in in a bomb shelter, I can only imagine what will happen to these forums if they choose not to bring them back at all (even as a cameo) or claim they are dead. Hell, I'm pissed as it is, they are not continuing the story of Hawke in DA3. IMO its a bad move, but, ****ing about it is not going to fix it.

I just hope, it does not dive bomb.

I really hope bioware doesn't kill off my Hawke or Anders. I like the idea they run off together and nobody ever finds them, not even Choir Boy. Killing them off would ruin the happy ending I have in my head.

I really do not see that happening. I don't see why that would happen or why any writer would choose to make that decision. From what we've seen thus far, characters are more likely to be brought back to life after you killed them than vice versa.

If anything, Anders will be kept alive because so many people killed him, and Bioware lives to troll the people who buy their games.
Though I confess, I'm a sucker for romantic death scenes, so Hawke and Anders dying together gives me bittersweet feelings.
Maybe Hawke should join the Wardens, then (suppossedly) they should have immunity to the Chantry, Anders gets his cat back and they can go on the Calling together.
Somehow, I'm not seeing Anders approving of that...

And "Choir Boy" needs a hobby that doesn't end in him going on about "MARDAR".

Ah, Fable II.
DA2 made me rename Sparrow's husband "Anders the Apostate"... who then divorced me because I set fire to the house...

Apparently "I didn't do it," doesn't work unless you're Anders.

Gawd....LOL! Out of all the characters in DA2, I have to say, Sebastian was by far the one I wanted to kick off a cliff. His threat at the end made me laugh and say out loud "good luck with that!" Sebastian is such a tool.

Agree 150% ... The nerve of the guy, first telling Fenris that they should turn in Hawke's companions (Anders and Merrill) to the templars (Fenris of course says No, do it yoursef, ****), then telling Hawke to murder Anders.

I really wanted Sebastian to attack Anders so Hawke and the others could defend him, but no, he just storms off like a big baby.  Now that I know we won't get anymore DLC I can happily complete several of my games and let that whiny beotch storm off all the way back to Starkhaven.

Don't know if anyone has seen this, but there is a great Anders comic on DA and this particular panel is making me want to stop working on my Mass Effect story and go back to my Dragon Age one. Warning, it is a little naughty.

Sad there will be no more DA2 content, I hope they do right by Anders in 3.

Not to mention the fact that he is completely incapable of independant action, frequently abandons you when it suits him, preaches endlessly, is a complete hypocrite half the time.

Of course he probably developed his moronic- passivity from Elthina.

That aside, trolling him is fun.

Some of the dialogue between him and other characters is absolutely priceless though. The first time Anders asked him about having Andraste's head in his crotch I could not stop laughing.

*pops head in and looks around shiftily*

Sure has been a while!

I heard about the end of the line for DA2. It certainly is a shame, but considering how long the silence had been going on, I wasn't exactly hopeful.

Question though: by "epilogue", did you mean DA3 as an epilogue to the series, or did you mean DA2 epilogue? Because, considering how definitive that "end of the line" statement sounded, I'd be surprised if they'd add anything to DA2 at this point. Even if it's "just" a kitty.

(quotation marks because we all know here that Pounce is so much more than just a kitty)

And I, for one, would much rather that none of the DA2 LIs made any cameos in DA3. Knowing the bugfest that happened with the DAO LIs (and the fact that Zevran's cameo, for instance, remains unfixed Posted Image), I'd hate to see it happen again.

Not only that, it makes it worse if your a mage when he says that (which I always am).

The other line that made me want to kill him was this..

Sebastian “I know you and Anders... it’s not my place, but
be careful, he’s a dangerous man and selfish. Whatever he promised you, don’t
think he’ll ever put you above his own needs.”

My response to this:

Dude, this Thedas not a happy dream, every person within the
land can be viewed as dangerous. Besides, Meradith and The Chantry are far more
dangerous. And I do not see how someone is considered selfish when they are
willing to sacrifice their life to save the lives others. Not to mention how
Anders spends his time aiding and healing refuges. Also since we are together,
he has become very protective over me, so yes, I guess he is selfish <rolls
eyes>.

IF Anders chooses to put me above saving the lives of every
mage in Thedas, I understand that. I find that, well very romantic and heroic,
that someone is willing to put the needs of others above his or her own.

Here’s another line:

Anders “Are you seriously judging me for wanting to save the
lives of every mage in Thedas?!”

Sebastian “But they were never threatened.”

Sebastian’s line made me glad I joined the Mage Rebellion
and not look back or question my choice. Its people like him who are not
willing to see just how bad the Chantry and Templars are. Then you wonder why
we mages have decided to rebel.

Sebastian, I say again, I defeated the Arishock in single
combat and lead the mages in rebellion in Kirkwall. I chose to save my
character’s love of her life because she views his actions as nothing wrong and
necessary. So, yes please storm off and try to track Anders and I down, no
doubt it will end in your death and my character will be happy as a darkspawn
swimming in their own taint.

When does he say this? I can't remember. I'm sure he said it to me at some point though. What really bothers me about this argument is that like most of Sebastian's arguments, it's flawed. At no time does Anders put his own needs above Hawke's (at least, not in the friendmance storyline). If anything, he goes out of his way to make sure Hawke is barely involved in the mage rebellion/barely informed to save her/him from the consequences and potential repercussions. If he was really selfish he wouldn't just sit there and let you kill him at the end of the game.

There's another line that really bothers me. Anders and Sebastian are talking about the situation with mages in Kirkwall and Sebastian responds by saying that no one has a choice - Hawke doesn't choose to leave Lothering and he didn't choose to have his family murdered and blah blah and to me it is just the worst argument ever. What do darkspawn and having your family killed have to do with the oppression of mages? And then Anders doesn't even respond for some reason. I can't remember the exact lines but every time I hear it I'm just...

Sebastian says that line in the final "Questioning Befiefs" if you max out his friendship. I only max out his friendship, because, well, it makes it sweeter seeing as to how I'm willing to tell a friend to ****** off and choose Anders above him. Hysterical.

Ok, doing this from memory, hopefully I don't f this up...LOL

Sebastian-You seem very angry

Anders-And here I thought the Chantry was against mind reading.

Sebastian-Did something happen to you in the Circle?

Anders-Are you saying a mage can only be unhappy in the Circle if demons are involved? No, its not about Uldred. Its not about being beaten or raped by a templar-which does happen-I have been fortuant. Its the larger princepal the freedom every man, woman and child in Thedas have as a natural right.

Sebastian-You were given to the Circle. Hawke was driving away from home by the darkspawn. I was given to the Chantry. None of us are free.

Most of Anders did with the Mage Rebellion was not to involve Hawke is his big end plan. But overall, if you support the mages, you tend to get thrown into the Mage Rebellion even though Anders is trying to protect you from it.

Well techincally he does put his own needs above Hawke's needs. He even says so in his final "Questioning Beliefs." But at any case, the bottom line is, Anders if far from selfish and Sebastian, needs to F off

Okay, he has definitely never said this to me because I have yet to max him out one way or the other. I am planning on doing this in my current game.

Yes, that's the conversation that drives me nuts! I mean seriously Sebastian, that's your argument? Those are completely different things and one does not negate the value of the other. Anyways. End rant. But I seriously argue with the computer screen every time he says this.

Okay. You have a point about Anders putting the mage rebellion first - but I still wouldn't call him a purely selfish character. Even if I'm not always 100% pro-Anders, the situation just isn't as black and white as Sebastian likes to think it is. :pinched:

I see Sebastian as (and I know all abouth this cause I have family who are born again Christians) someone who believes EVERYTHING is about the Will of the Maker, from people's positions in life to the type of stew the inn serves on Mondays.
I think that, even with his big promise to return with an army, once he gets through the anger and the grief, he would acknowledge that this too was the mysterious Way/Will of the Maker.

Even if you fully rival him (and I always do), Sebastian is far from being the most decisive person ever. For all his talk of gloriously retaking Starkhaven and blah-blah-blah, he really does faff about. He's like the champion of faffing about. So really, I take his hissy fit at the end of the game with a grain of salt or 100. I can seriously see him faffing about for a couple more years before trying to do anything (let's not forget he needs to actually retake Starkhaven first before anything can be done about that army of his), by which point it'll be far too late.

And yeah, that "none of us are free" convo is just...Posted Image I'm thinking Anders doesn't even bother replying because he's too busy facepalming at that point. Probably figured that Seb is a lost cause.
