That sandwich reply was great. And I love the amused look on Anders' face when he's responding to it.
On the flip side, I also love Hawke's facial expression when Anders is asking to move in....it's all like, "What...have I gotten myself into?"
Yeah. Anders' response to the Sandwich line was very much like the Anders I once knew from Awakenings, so it was a nice touch.

Hawke raged after I heard that Isabela/Anders banter. Not out of possessive jealousy, but just plain envy in general. XD I got that banter right after Anders pulled his "THIS IS THE SKIN OF A KILLER" thing and shot her down.
So for my poor sexually frustrated Hawke, it went like this:
Anders: Perhaps a year ago we could have had something, but I'm not that man any longer. I'm sorry.
Hawke: Cold shower again tonight then...
Isabela: LOL Anders remember all those amazing sexy magic tricks you did while having an orgy at the brothel?
Anders: Ah yes, good times.
Hawke: D:
And I think Hawke's "PLEASE stop talking, now!" sounds so desperate. XD
It could only be better if it was punctuated with a sob.
Anders: I said a year ago! If you would have just had the crazy witch drop you off in Denerim, or maybe snatch you up with the Wardens at Ostagar...
Hawke: You're not. Making it. Easier. And by "something" I assumed you meant "a real relationship." Not kinky lightning sex.
Isabela: Hmmm.
Hawke: I hate you both.

Bethany says (I hear, I always do mages) that Anders reminds them of their dad. And if you pick some of the green diplomatic options, your mom will say you remind her of your dad. I always found that added an extra level to the relationship. Malcolm mighta liked Anders. What an odd, sad thought for Hawke.
With Carver as a Warden, I thought that he would get along better with Anders too.
It kinda makes you think about Anders's last speech where he talks about what he's fighting for.
Malcom and Leandra would have never had to run away from Kirkwall in the first place. Hawke would have grown up in Kirkwall and Anders would have never been sent off to the circle. Something tells me that Hawke and Anders would have managed to meet regardless and would have still fallen in love.

Isabela> I actually saw that in person, it was impressive. *grin*
Varric> Not surprised...
Why couldn't we just have a bit of electricity in the love scene?

If only there WAS kinky lightning sex. Or...maybe there is? HOPE IS RESTORED!
Of course, I think if there was, Varric would be the first to know about it (he knows everything...it's a side effect of just being awesome), and would tease Hawke (and Anders) mercilessly about it. Hahah

This almost goes without saying in an Anders fan thread, but seriously, the guy is probably super innovative in the bedroom. Can you imagine all the crazy things a mage could do? (What am I saying, with the dirty minds on this thread, of course we can!)

Yes. Lightning spells, rejuvenation spells, telekinesis spells...I'm going to stop now.
This is the part where Miri talks about his spellbook, and the dirty spells section with its stuck together pages...

First off, I'd like to say this thread has made me laugh out loud WAY more than any other thread I've been reading.
Second of all, I'm having a HUGE problem rivalmancing Anders in a male rogue playthrough. Like...SERIOUSLY. I try to be mean but as I look at the red option, I'm thinking, "Gee...that's just so...mean." It's hard to be cruel to poor tortured Anders.
You don't really have to be mean to him, you just need to not be all "Yes, mage freedom AT ALL COSTS." My warrior ManHawke tells apostates "Get thee to the Circle!" and that's really all it takes for Anders to be all "I hate you so much that we should make out. As a ... team building exercise."

Well that's good to know. I tried rivalmancing Fenris and that was eaaasssyyy. I just figured it would be harder for Anders because I always end up siding with the mages.
But after the first playthrough, I have to admit...all the mages I met weren't exactly building the best case for their fellow brethren. I mean...summoning corpses? Throwing Shades in my face? Setting Rage Demons on my party? Then...you want to be free? Whaaa?

Seriously, mage!smut is the best stuff in the world. I offer up a humble piece of Awakenings Anders smut, for those who do not mind AU before DA2 Anders/Warden smexings: Storm
Neria can do more than that. And often does.

Between all his spells and um... experience and my Hawke's force mage spec, among other things. Let's just say my mind wanders.
And whats so awesome about him being a spirit healer, well you can play a little rough and get patched up in a jiffy.

If you don't mind me asking, I noticed near the end that Justice/Vengeance isn't seen as much as in Act 1 or even Act 2. Justice doesn't come through when Anders is asking you to help him blow up the Chantry; it's Anders asking for the favour.
What I got from that was: Anders is struggling with Justice throughout the game, but it seems that Justice has to struggle less as the game goes on. Did Justice/Vengeance eventually influence/corrupt Anders and change him, just as Anders himself inadvertently corrupted Justice with his hate for the mages?
Or is it Justice/Vengeance who is talking through Anders and has taken over him, like when Anders gets his blackouts, and Anders is powerless to stop it?
Perhaps it's up to individual interpretation, but I thought I'd ask you.
~Brodyaha
It depends on whether you take the friendship or rivalry path. The friendship path is essentially encouraging him to accept Justice as part of himself, so there is a less visible struggle since their goals are the same. On the rival path, you can actually convince Anders that merging with Justice was a mistake, at which point Justice takes him over and is actually the one who commits the bombing. On the rival path, Anders blames Justice for bombing the Chantry and says that he can't control him at all anymore. So, his relationship with Justice in Act 3 changes based on how accepting Hawke has been of their relationship up to that point.

Dirty, dirty mages. How else are they supposed to get any exercise cooped up in the Circle? And all that finely tuned and controlled magic is just going to waste...
It's not like they have much room to run out their energy.
But their are plenty of beds...

Yeah, I was all FREEDOM FOR MAGES LIKE MY SISTER RAAR my first playthrough. My resolve lessened my second playthrough. With warrior MANHAWKE I'm more like, "You bastards can't have nice things. The Circle isn't perfect, but it's more perfect than the crazy crap you people are getting up to on your own." Which makes Anders go all

Fen's rivalry mance is pretty good too.
Though he's friendship mance is really good. If only because he's not so growly during the gift giving.

God bloody damnit.
I wish I could figure out a way to max out rivarly without having to be big on Templars/turning in apostates.
arrgggh. The rivarly is what I want. I just don't want to get it the way I saw. I want to get it through big fights about Justice, not turning folks in.

Tell me about it.
I give him the book and explain what it's about, and he's all like, "I KNOW WHO IT IS, BUT I CAN'T READ! ROAR!"
Hawke is like, "That's nice, but didn't you escape like...nine years ago or something like that?"
Which of course, incites Fenris's slave-rage.
Friendshipmance is so much more...smooth...you don't get ****y Fenris all the time.
Currently working on Rivalmance with Anders, but I'll be sure to drop my opinion on the matter as soon as I get through it. I hear it's better than friendshipmance.

Hawke: fine! *force pull*

Oooh, very interesting indeed. And sad.
It's nice that she and lots of the other devs actually take the time to respond to things like this. I would PM her with my own questions, except mine would be much less thought-provoking and much more fangirl-y, so I won't waste her time. XD

Hawke: Look! An awesome sword!
Fenris: *rhapsodizes about sword*
Hawke: It's yours if you want it.
Fenris: **** you, and **** your sword.
Hawke: O_o
Fenris: I never want to see it again.
Hawke: O....kay.
SF: *equips sword on Hawke*
SF:*keeps Fenris in party for the rest of the game*
The Friendly path ending, while heartbreaking in its own way, is...better, I think. Three weeks ago I would never think I'd prefer a world where Anders knowingly blew up a Chantry, but at least he has some control. If you turn him over to Rylock in Freedom for Anders, he'll say that he just wanted to be able to make his own choices. With Justice taking over more frequently, it's like that much more is stripped away from him.
