Caeleinn, I can't seem to find a full set. There are some pretty comprehensive Act II videos with just friendship, but that's about it. You could try FluffyNinjsLlama's channel. There's bloody near everything there.

So true. I think that was where I spoiled myself for the Anders romance when I first started playing. :D

Oh, I got ToP.  'Kay. Here's Anders and Sir Pounce-a-lot

As long as I'm here (don't get to do that often), I'll pimp another channel. Or particular playlist, though other content there is also quite useful. The Missing Scenes from Dragon Age playlist by DanaDuchy includes some Anders goodies. Also, m!Hawke’s actor reading lines written for fem!Hawke made me explode with laughter.

KITTEH.

My own Ser Pounce-a-lot is almost two years old. And thus far he seems to have done a good job of fending off demonic possession :D

Happy New Year to all on the Anders Thread!
Hoping for a brand new, shiny game in 2013, with maybe a little of the lovely mage... I hadn't looked at the Anders Wiki page for ages, but the Trivia section now says that Adam Howden has hinted that he might be recording for DA3. No reference given, though, so can't tell how recent it is. Can only hope!

What do you think would happen to Anders in Tevinter?
*snip*

I wondered whether all the Tevinter-related references in DA2 were setting up the possibility of meeting Anders
there, if he survived. Beyond  that, I dare not speculate!

I am so, so afraid of an Anders return in DA3. Would they beat him up even more? I can't bear it. :X

Yeah, that's my fear, too. As far as I'm concerned, the ending we got for him was fine. I'm perfectly okay with the thought of him and Hawke doing rebelious things away from the public eye, and maybe enjoying some quiet downtime every once in a while.

As much as I support the idea of leliana appearing in the future as a boss battle for characters who oppose the Chantry, I'm not in favor of Anders appearing as a boss battle for those who support it. Players already had their chance to kill him once. If they did so, he's going to stay dead. Players got their chance to kill Leliana too, but we all know how that worked out.

I'd also like Anders to stay dead.  And technically, you could also kill him off in Awakening.  That worked <_<

I was ok with retconning Anders and Leliana's deaths in DA2 because while there are the vocal minority who loathed them even back then and just wanted them gone, for most people, it wasn't a big deal.  But Anders' Act 3 exit was a huge deal.  A lot of emotions get tied up in the decision to kill him--betrayal, anger, shock, etc.  Retconning his death again just cheapens all that.

That argument doesn't persuade me, at least not as a reason for Anders to be utterly absent from DA3. In Mass Effect, your decision on Virmire must kill one of two major characters, and yet both of those characters return as major actors (even LIs!) for two more whole games. Just because Anders is dead for some players doesn't mean he can't return for others.

For that matter, what about Bethany and Carver? If DA3 were going to carry over Hawke's storylines in detail, it would also have to accommodate players who were mages and who weren't, players whose siblings joined the Circle/Templars or the Grey Wardens, and players whose siblings are dead.

I hope if Anders returns, it'll be in a minor cameo and won't be too depressing. But I won't go crying discontinuity if he's alive and playing a major part, either.

If Anders died in Awakening, it was because you failed to upgrade the Keep, not because you did battle with him and killed him. It's akin to leaving Leliana in Lothering. Yes, she should have died, but it isn't as much of a slap in the face as killing her in combat and finding out later that she regrew her head.

My point there is not that I don't want to see him again in a cameo. I'm not too fussed about that. My point is that I object to automatically casting him in an adversarial role just to force players who kept him alive to kill him no matter what.

Sorry if I'm not as clear as I could be. I'm at work and running experiments, so I'm a little rushed.

I don't think anyone expects Anders to return from the "stab of death" by Hawke, but I would love to see him reappear as a cameo if he is still alive. Especially if you help mages in DAIII.

I have mentioned this before, but I absolutely believe that Anders would jump headfirst into the change of undoing tranquillity on mages and recruiting them to fight.

I might be optimistic, but I actually believe him to be less tense if we see him again. The reason he got so desperate in DAII was because he felt that his hands were bound and no matter what he tried it seemed to fail. Now he finally has an outlet for all of his anger and is actually able to actively help mages. I think that will channel Justice in one direction and maybe calm Anders in other ways. He will no longer have to contain the spirit, but use him for what they both intended.

If you took the friendly path with him, I believe that Anders might have been "saved" in a sense, despite being hunted relentlessly and all that.

Edit: I also think it unlikely that we won't see him as a cameo (if he lives), as he was the most important NPC in DA II. Like Alistair was in DA:O.

We all know that if Anders survives he will want to be in the front lines helping mages and stopping bad templars. How could he not ? He and Justice merged for this exact reason!
Which is why the BW writers will have a hard time writing a cameo for Anders. If he survives he is not the kind of mage who will be happy to stay in the sidelines. Unless... Whatever took the Warden and Hawke took him too.
(Or he has a BIG reason to stay away from the fight, like protecting his mage kid, as in my fanfic which I should get back to writing  )

So, I saw this quiz:

"Find your winter boyfriend: It's cold and gloomy, and you need someone to snuggle at night. But which snuggly creature will it be?"
http://www.buzzfeed....inter-boyfriend

And immediately thought, "Mine has feathers AND hair."

No regrets.

I got:
Pallas cat

"This fluffernutter comes from central Asia. He's a cat, so he likes napping in sunbeams, chasing bugs, and gnawing on loose carpet strings, and sleeping on your face. You're a cat person, so you won't mind."

Awesome, I suspect that means my boyfriend is Anders!  Cats, brimming in sunbeams (or fireballs?) and there's that thought that the Anderfels is a bit like Central Asia.

Hi there an belated happy new year!
Late as hell, I finally dare to join in this fantastic forum, as you all seem to be a bunch of awesome people!

I'm beginning my third playthrough of DA2 and I'm torn between romancing Anders or Merril...the Anders friendmance was just too sweet...*sigh*

Hi Gentiana! Welcome!

Have you ever romanced Merrill? I love the Anders romance, but I'm determined to do them all before I quit playing DA2. So far, the only one I haven't done is the Merrill friendmenace, so that will probably be my next. But I expect that the Anders friendmance will remain my favorite. Because it's sappy, sweet, and riddled with cliches.

Yeah, sorry if I wasn't clear, this is pretty much what I meant.

If he's dead in your game, he should stay dead and not come back to life like he and Leliana did between DAO and DA2.  If he's alive, I'd love to see a cameo of some kind.

Hi, all!  I've just been catching up here and following the thread of a possible Anders return in DA3, I know David Gaider has said that if Anders is dead in your game, he is DEAD.

David Gaider wrote...

If you decided to kill Anders does he really die?

Yes. If you killed him, he's really dead. Justice may be another story.

There are lots of questions answered by him in this thread found here concerning returning characters for DA3 and lots of other stuff...including a question about cheese wheels...

As for me...I just can not bring myself to kill him, not with those big ol' puppy dog eyes and his "do what you feel you must" attitude, so yeah, I'm really really hoping to see a cameo of him, fighting those nasty Templars and seekers, with his Lady Hawke at his side.  (Points to whoever might get the old movie reference. Apologies to anyone that romanced him on a male character.)  I know he was mentioned in the Asunder novel, but it was left pretty vague as to whether he was alive or not.  Keeps it consistent for everyone, I guess.

I love this! Because Anders' beautiful aquiline nose is awesome. Also, it's "nose-ruble", isn't it?

I'm also of the opinion that dead Anders should stay dead, but what I really like is that Gaider suggests that Justice may not be. Call me spiteful, but I, for one, would enjoy Justice causing a ruckus for the people who thought killing Anders would actually solve the problem. Image IPB As for a cameo by a live Anders...only if it's handled better than the DAO character cameos.

Same as you, never romanced her, so maybe I should give it a try. Probably going to rivalmance her, I think it gives an interesting twist to her relationship with Hawke, while I found the rivalmance with Anders very devastating. He was always so upset when you disagree with him, so I will forever be on friendly terms with him, no matter how much Fenris will hate me for it :pinched:

About the Anders dumping-scene...as much as it breaks my heart...his reaction was still priceless  :D you can literally watch his little heart shatter into pieces...poor guy, what's wrong with me, people? :pinched:

merrill friendmance is so ridiculously sweet....i love merrill :D she's so awkward and cute. of course, it doesn't even come close to anders' romance at all x3
