I still don't think he really
ate anyone. I think it was mostly to illustrate that he didn't battle them like a normal person, with sword and magic and whatever. He literally tore them apart in a brutal and animalistic way, with hands and teeth and whatever. I don't know if that makes it
better necessarily, but it's not like he pulled a Hannibal Lecter.
