I didn't get an answer to my question before, so I'll ask it again - is it possible for Hawke to support what Anders did, blowing up the Chantry? Because the videos I've seen have Hawke not agreeing with it.

There's no explicit "Good job, bro! *fistbump*" option.

But I cannot remember most the other options right now.

I remember there being a "you're right!" option.

You can sort of agree.  The prompt is "Maybe you're right" and the actual line that Hawke says is something about the Circle being nothing more than a farce.  And you can, of course, spare Anders' life.

Batteries is right; there's no fist-pumping "GOOD JOB BRO!" option, but you don't have to yell at him about it.  And I think if you take the "Why didn't you trust me?" option, Hawke snaps "I might have understood if you'd only told me".  You can easily interpret that as a Hawke who would've liked to help.

And how interesting is it that he still has lines he won't cross, despite everything he's done? I would have almost expected him to use blood magic and justify it as being necessary for the cause. And he doesn't.

That's one of the things that interested me; that despite the blood he's willing to shed in his cause, he can't be an Orsino. He has limits, and he won't become a full-on abomination (versus a half-demon, I think he calls himself). I think perhaps in his mind, that means the templars win? Sometimes I feel that Anders is making himself out to be every mage in Thedas, in a sense. What he's willing to do should be the limit in his mind.

I think you have a point there. But I also think he thinks it's important to prove that mages aren't doomed to become abominations or mind controlling monsters. He desperately wants to prove that there's a possibility other than one group holding the other in virtual slavery. Both Telvinter and Kirkwall are unacceptable alternatives. He does something horrible, but it's almost mundane. He could have used Quinari powder for the same purposes. No demons need apply (except for the obvious).

Thanks guys. :) Those options will work well for my FemHawke. Although, it's a shame my revolutionary crazy rogue won't be able to give him a fistbump and say "good job, bro." xD

Oh, I agree, I didn't mean that he was proposing to make himself the avatar of every mage. I think perhaps in one sense, it maybe goes beyond magic- that mages have, in and of themselves, the ability to free themselves, and the fact that he doesn't resort to magic to make his point is part of it.

Or something. I'm so sleep deprived right now it's ridiculous.

I thought the explosion was magical in nature, just not of the "I'm going to set a demon loose or use blood magic to control you" variety? But I could be wrong.

And boy do I want to romance him and Isabela now. Alas, I have an Origins playthrough to complete. Want to destroy the Fereldan Circle to give an added air of desperation. Irving and Gregoir were the status quo working as well as it possibly could, but even then the mages were destroyed in the end. Anders' revolution looks like the best option.

That was my impression.

As for DA:O, I peacefully resolved the situation in Ferelden, just because I think it's so perfect and depressing to have my two PCs working at cross purposes.  My DA:O Warden was a Liberatarian mage, but she promoted peaceful change.  My Hawke and Anders have in one stroke undone everything she strove for.

Magical? Eh, I didn't think so. You have to gather all those ingredients, so I figured it was your everyday Theodosian Explosive.

I actually sat and thought about what it would be like for Hawke and Amell to sit face to face and have to explain themselves- my Hawke ends up as militant as Anders, but all three are extremely anti-blood magic. (Work was slow, lol.)

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I hope someone might be able to do up a mod that allows us to replay the kiss/love scene or something when we talk to Anders (or other romances) in our house/their base...(Although I know modding the game is difficult now).

That was something I missed from Origins.

Oh me too! :(

But that's why I have a save right before that conversation and his love scene so I can watch it over and over again! <3

I wonder how hard it would be. It would just need to reply either the kiss scene or the kiss/love scene without the extra dialogue...anyone handy with mods? They are coming up with other mods for DA2. I wonder if it's possible.

Oh don't ruin the fun!  :P  I'd rather just be silly and call it the "poop bomb".  It helps take away some of the sting of that scene.

Seriously, does anyone else now have a hard time doing Act 3?  I love Acts 1 and 2, but as soon as I start Act 3 my heart just sinks.  I hate seeing what happens to Anders.

Yeah, pretty much all of Act 3 was depressing to me. Anders slowly succombing to lunacy... Merrill's whole deal with the creepy mirror ending, um, rather badly (ironically enough, it was Blondie McCrazy Pants who tried to warn me that whole questline was a bad idea... I should've listened to him. LOL)

Too much sadness. SurelyForth, post your Spicy Shimmy gif! For old time's sake...

First things first!  We need a mod that gets Anders out of his clothes at the end of the romance scene.  Maybe put his head on the male Hawke body model in his underwear or something?

Seriously, it's ridiculous that they fall on the bed and presumably have sex then it cuts to Hawke back in her robe by the fire... and Anders fully dressed.  Hawke's robe is understandable; that thing probably just shrugs on and off.  Anders had to lace up those crazy boots, do all the buckles on his coat, arrange his feathers, etc.

Thinking back to all the things he said in Awakening, I am surprised he didn't crack sooner. I mean, a year in solitary confinement, all those escape attempts... I felt in Awakening it was played off a lot as "Oh, you." because of his humor (as in, I didn't necessarily think much about it because they were usually passing mentions in humorous stories and when he did get mad he always went back to the jocularity). DA2 really puts a lot of that into perspective.

I am genuinely amazed that he held on as long as he did. The anger was always there, which is why Justice got corrupted in the first place, after all. I mean, things like the one year in solitary confinement? The fact that he's not stark raving mad (if alive at all) is astounding, considering one year in solitary confinement for a mage, particularly one with close ties to the Fade spirits (since he's a spirit healer) sounds like a recipe for creating an abomination to me.

I'd be happy just having him without his shirt during the end of that scene!

Anders: I'm surprised your master didn't kill you.
Fenris: I'm surprised the templars haven't killed you.
Anders: I'm charming.

Put him and Fenris and Seb in a party and wander around for a bit.

It quickly descends from snarking to the most incredible passive aggressive b***chery ever.  Seriously, I wanted to be able to turn Hawke around and give them each a good slap upside the head.

They are terrible to each other.  I absolutely love it!  I never imagined Team Harem would be so catty, and it's fabulous.

At one point Fenris and Anders are sniping at each other about Hawke and Isabela accuses them of going at each other like dogs fighting over a "***** in heat" or something like that.  XD  So crude and hilarious.

Him vs. Sebastian is awesome.

Anders: *something about Seb looking at him and judging him*
Seb: I was looking at the clouds.
Anders: *more ranting about Seb judging him*
Seb: That one looks like a bunny rabbit.(Kudos to the VA for the delivery on this one)

I about died laughing. And yes, I also wanted to turn around and slap them both upside the head.
