So what I don't get is, if you think Justice is the one influencing Anders to actively fight the Chantry... how do you explain why they joined up in the first place?
Anders, without Justice, wanted to become more aggressive in the fight for mages' rights. Anders, without Justice, wanted to do something beyond just saving his own skin. He isn't a drooling idiot, he would have realized this course of action would end in bloodshed- innocent and guilty alike.
And he made the decision to take Justice into himself to better accomplish this goal.
So... how is this all Justice's influence?
Anders laughed over the dying gargle of a templar moments after you met him. Even if he DIDN'T kill the man... that shows a pretty serious level of anger. Even if the templar was an a**hole, it takes a lot of rage and hate to crack jokes about how they died not even an hour later, while the body is still warm at your feet.
(personally, I've always suspected he had at least some part in killing them anyways)
The angriest he sounds in Awakening (short of finding out the truth about the last blight after sparing the Architect) is when he's talking about the Chantry treatment of mages.
This isn't something new they created for DA2. The seeds and anger were there in Awakening, quite plainly. If anything, the humor about how working to free mages "sounded hard" seemed more put-on than his rage.
He certainly didn't take a fade spirit into his head so they could sit down at a conference table with the Divine and calmly discuss the mage issue. He did it for strength in battle. That pretty much says it all, if you ask me.
If you don't like what he did, well, I can't blame you. Bioware INTENDED it to be a divisive issue. But writing it off as "not Anders" and saying it was all Justice seems unrealistic. He may question it on the rival path, but he's questioning his own beliefs- beliefs he had long before he even knew justice- not just the spirit/demon influence.
He merged with Justice for a reason, and that wasn't to be a peacemaker.
