Ok, I said that very strongly, but I do think, after everything he goes through on the rival path OR the friend path, it's still wildly OOC. And I will never take that option. So.
Yes indeed. I personally feel certain decisions in DAO are widly OOC I wouldn't begrudge anyone the freedom to choose though. I just don't pick those options.
What someone does in their game isn't a concern to me.
That said I'm acting defensive because personally I think if the writers wrote it it should've been in game.
Gah. This is gonna nag at me until it is fixed.

No I like his new voice! A lot! And Cullen kind of needed to keep Greg Ellis, because he does the super-adorable shy guy PERFECTLY.
And of course, Cullen took a level in SEXY between DA:O and DA2.
Don't forget the level in badass, too.

Great image you gave me there.
By the way guys, I just finished my rivalmance with Anders. I was at 100% Rivalry with him and he wouldn't join the templars.....soooo...maybe I did something wronggg?
I'm pretty sure it's bugging out.
Which is a dissappoint. Stupid bugs. I want that kiss.![]()
Hopefully BW will fix it.
And if not them hopefully modders will be able too.
Oooooooh. And this is the point where I should really tape my fingers together, but...this is why I hate this ending. It's a kiss after he's bombed a Chantry, set a world war in motion, damned a prison containing innocents and is about to go help slaughter them. It's...black. Almost irredeemably so, in my opinion.

He took about ten levels in sexy. Mmm.

Not saying Ellis was bad or anything, but his voice as Anders was kinda.... punchy. As in "lol dude you're hilarious and I like you, but I kinda want to punch you in the face a bit"
Hah, yeah. And I wanna say that Howden has this delightful ... purr to his voice sometimes. Made me tingly.

I know for sure what happened to my warden and my rogue archer Hawke. The warden insta-killed both Hawke and Fenris for killing Anders AND Justice.
And for siding with templars and killing mages.
Totally what happened.
I imagine that my warden and my canon mage Hawke were too busy having four(five?!)somes with Alistair and Anders. Because you know the warden totally wanted to hit that!
(Okay, I'm being silly, but what do you expect with all this angsty rival/friendmance discussion still going on to ... well... no point. must replace with silly!)

"wait... shouldn't you be killing a bunch of apprentices or something?"
Not that I'm complaining. I like him in DA2.

I'll assume this is one of those situations where Justice would ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL. Cuz, otherwise, I agree. Maybe this is why BW made it impossible to pull him off to bed whenever we wanted. That would probably be all I'd end up doing then.
I mean... what? No, of course I would go play hero or whatever. :innocent:
HAHA Totally!!!
There are...ways to keep Justice from interfering! I find rope is quite effective.

@Ryzaki Game mechanics win out over story far more in other games. Bioware does it far better than anyone else, but no one can be perfect. That they give so much choice is awesome.

I don't mind. I'm never doing a friendship path with Anders again.

Heh. Everyone doesn't dig the same thing. To me the kiss was bittersweet.
I'm not demanding everyone feel the same way I do. I personally think it's a good ending. I want it. Bittersweet but with a glimmer of hope.
I still want this speech siding with the mages though. I shouldn't have to side with Meredith's crazy self to get the speech.

I imagine my Warden swung by riding a griffon and said to Hawke, "Yo, you seem like a strangely awesome person just like me. You tired of all this crap? I'm heading for a warm sunny beach if you want to join." And Hawke said "HELL YES, let's go."

This time around I should get the King Alistair stuff (for my evil playthrough I generated an import to see King Alistair and to make sure I got to see Nathaniel - which turns out is a bug and I could have fixed but whatever, King Alistair!... cause I wasn't going to be DUMPED by mister King highness because I'm an elf and a mage, no way!)... oh yeah, I'm so going to beg for him to take me away.
"All these people are crazy, sir, and they keep asking me to save their behind and I know this is going to end up badly... can you pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee take me away? I'll be your slave, whatever!" and Fenris is going to growl and roll his eyes. LOL

Agreed, not about taping your fingers but your thoughts. There is nothing romantic, or sexy about a man who's so changeable by "love" that he completely turns his back on his entire set of beliefs. It's never romantic for someone to give up on their beliefs and desires, everything he fought for for 7 years, everything he DID, only to turn around and support this paragon of purely awesome awesomesauce with pudding on top, in slaughtering those he's been fighting for all this time because it's twueee wuvvvvv.
It's like being in love with a jellyfish at that point, and who wants to kiss one of those?

I like to think of the Eluvian as a gateway to a yatch in the Mediterranean. And I tossed Morrigan overboard. Wait, do witches sink or float? Shi--

But, like Lupus asked, why would you want him once he's become so different? Why would you want to push him down that path that is so opposed to who he is for a kiss? The friendmance ending is just as hopeful and bittersweet, but Anders isn't being asked to turn on himself to get there.
I guess I cannot see him being willing to Annul the Circle as anything but an act of complete and total self-loathing. Every mage he kills is some version of who he could have been had things gone differently for him. He is tormented by the idea of returning the Starkhaven mages to the Circle because of their desperation, and I'm supposed to believe that he is whole and better off when he's at a mental place where he will murder innocent mages in their prison and call it redemption?

Well Morrigan went through the damn mirror so she's finally gone, WOOT!
Leliana has also gone chantry-crazy or something despite my hardening her (I think I did?! maybe?!) and so I want none of her lot around.
Everyone else can come, even Isabela *sigh*.

The import I used for my canon was an Amell... he's into all sorts of things, but doing his cousin (or doing it near his cousin) isn't part his thing, lol.
Though I am sure he had a moment of "DUDE WHAT GIVES" at Anders, I tried to flirt with everyone in Awakening... he didn't even have a brothel to go to, poor guy. Yes, I played the douchiest mage ever, lol.

Okay first off I never said I wanted him to side with the templars for a kiss.
Frankly what I wanted is that desire for redemption (mostly with the mages) that fighting with Vengeance over his body is what I wanted. I wanted the whole entire speech including the kiss. (Minus a few of the templars bit and replacing that with mages).
I guess I cannot see him being willing to Annul the Circle as anything but an act of complete and total self-loathing. Every mage he kills is some version of who he could have been had things gone differently for him. Now this I somewhat agree with. Annulling the Circle would break Anders' heart and I don't see him very lightly making such a decision (especially not with Meredith's insanity). That said I think siding with the Templars in general is a pretty "wat" decision so I can't really defend it.
I only see it defendable when Hawke realizes Orsino is a bloodmage alas that doesn't happen until after you've chosen your side.
As for redemption I was more in mind with it being making amends for blowing up the Chantry. It's hard to argue this when I haven't seen the whole playthrough because of those bugs. I would be able to understand it more if I could see the whole thing play out myself.
Edit: That said let's agree to disagree. This debate gets me overly emotional.
