However, Fenris despises mages. Just...despises them. Because he was enslaved by a magister.
And Anders is SO pro-mages that I just can't imagine it.
Maybe if they both covered their eyes and pretended it was someone else.

They better not be! I'm doing my Fenris rivalmance playthrough and at the moment Hawke isn't getting any. If they're doing it behind her back... without inviting her...

With Alistair and Morrigan, it didn't seem quite as bad because they were both mentally healthy and seemed to derive a lot of joy out of snarking on each other. With Fenris and Anders, though, it's like the Broken Boys Show, now with extra venom. There are times when Fenris is outright cruel and Anders is completely unhinged and it hurts so much.

And yet I take them both out all the time, because Hawke loves one and has an incredibly complicated relationship with the other, up to and including the fact that they are an unstoppable force of death when fighting together.

I think one of my favourite Anders moments is really, really cruel. If you sleep with Fenris then sleep with Anders, Anders will... point that out. And he will rub Fenris' face in it, that they are in love and living together and everything.

It's not a very nice moment, but it's very "Anders at that point in his life".

That's the thing about Anders. He's possessive, clingy, and borderline creepy with his expressions of affection. Meanwhile, Fenris minds his own business and goes about his day not wanting to dwell on what transpired between him and Hawke. In my game, he said something like, "So you and Hawke are living together now? Break his heart and I will kill you." Like a friend whose intentions is only to look out for you, while Anders uses your breakup with Fenris as an opportunity.

I guess it's true that Anders always had feelings for Hawke. It's up to you whether you want to leave them unrequited or not.

Yeah, Anders is pretty mean to Fenris throughout the entire thing. He loveloveLOVES to rub it in Fenris's face that he and Hawke are together. LOVES it. And only stops when Fenris threatens to rip his heart out.

And Isabela puts her two cents in if you've slept with her, of course.
"Oh, will you two hush. I've done him, too."

I'm mostly in the "oh my God will you just hate f*ck already and get it out of your goddamn systems?!" frame of mind when they start up. I don't really think they'd be secretly doin' it like I am 100% convinced Alistair and Morrigan do (when he's not madly in love with my Warden, of course), but sometimes when they're slapfighting in the less angry way (like ... Act 1 level fighting, Act 3 is just <sadface>) I think we'd all be better off if they would just make out and get it over with.

I'm sure Isabella is with me on that.


EDIT: Actually, I have a Fenris/Anders romance related question! I assume if you go and sleep with Anders and do not crush his heart afterwards, that stops the Fenris romance. My current MANHAWKE totally wants to rebound after Fenris had his little freakout, but I promised myself I would reach Fenris' damn conclusion at least once before I do Anders' all the way again.

Yep, this is exactly how I felt!  Kinda like Merrill and her banter with Aveline about the Keeper.

"Fenris, if you don't stop pulling Anders's hair THIS INSTANT, I am turning us around and we are going home, young man!"

If only we could bring Mama Hawke around with us... she raised 3 kids (2 of whom were possibly at each other's throats 24/7).  I'm sure she could make Fenris and Anders shape up.

I had all of my focus on DA2 (Arishok fight) and I just ate whatever my BF set in front of me for dinner. I know this is totally OT, but....12 SAUSAGE PATTIES! Oh god, I feel the heartburn coming.

"How did you get that guy to look like M___?"

Me: "I didn't." rofl
Them: Well, that's weird.
Me: "Yeppers.
Them: "Is he famous?"
Me: "In a way."

OMG I was dying.

(I feel vindicated though. If they think a video game character looks like their own son then I'm not crazy.)

Yep, it does.  I did this on my Anders romance PT.  During the 'break' with Fenris, she slept with Anders and told him that Fenris left her.  That ended things with Fenris and solidified them with Anders.  You should be good to go if you go that route.

lol My BF has no clue what to make for dinner when I ask him to cook.
I mean, really? I feel like making him write an essay. "Sausage patties - breakfast. Unless I'm craving them. Spaghetti or something equally delicious but involving chicken or pork - dinner. Turkey/cheese/ham sandwich - lunch."

I've pretty much convinced myself that either way, any relationship with Anders is going to end in a murderous rampage.

Situation A: You leave him, temporarily forgetting that you're breaking the heart of an emotionally unstable abomination demon-possessed-mage man who's timesharing his body with a very, very angry Fade spirit. MURDEROUS RAMPAGE ENSUES.

Situation B: You don't leave Anders. Unfortunately, this means you're both in pretty much constant danger (...like you weren't before). One day, you are accosted by a Templar. Or questioned by a Templar. Or perhaps the Templar is asking to borrow a cup of sugar. It doesn't matter. The point is, there is a Templar, and he is bothering you. MURDEROUS RAMPAGE ENSUES.

Situation C: You are out walking with Anders. You trip over a cobblestone and skin your knee. That cobblestone has harmed you. The cobblestone must die. MURDEROUS COBBLESTONE RAMPAGE ENSUES.

And so on.
...Well, at least it will be exciting. :3

One thing that I never would have expected from Anders as an LI is all the borderline creepy expressions of affection. I always imagined him to be more of a casual romantic? His desperation for Hawke makes me sad, because it really seems like he pins pretty much all of his happiness on Hawke and he doesn't even have to be treated consistently well to get there or stay there. Knowing how many players despise him, it seems like something cruel that BW has done in giving us this intensely emotional, devoted and broken man and making him someone who can also inspire so much hatred. 

And this isn't even getting into the tragedy of where he started in Awakening.
