Aww who cares. They wouldn't be interesting if they were all perfect beings. :P
And where would half the quests go if you weren't aiding them in their shenanigans? lmfao

There's perfect then there's ****ed up. They can have a happy medium of begrudging loyalty.

But you're right, let's not give Bioware an excuse to cut more content.

LMFAO.
Anders and Merrill are pretty messed up. And I guess Isabela is, too.
But Varric's pretty normal, and I think Fenris falls into a medium. Since he doesn't blow anything up and...well...he glows. Blue. :wizard:

Eh. I can't wait for the bugged endingto get fixed.
Then my rivalrymance won't seem saw wallbangerish near the ending. <3.

As for the ending making him a hypocrite...kind of late for that.

Dude's already a self-righteous, hypocritical, clingy, preachy person.

Though I do hope the Templar ending is as dark and gut twisting for Anders as I think it is. Gah. So juicy. Can't wait for that bug to be fixed.

Even if I'm the only one here who wants it to be.

This is just reminding me Hawke has horrible friends.

Yep.  Hawke's crew is pretty messed up all around.  It makes sense, though, since Hawke herself is about 20 different kinds of crazy.  In my game, anyway.

I hate 99% of the rogue armor.

The only armor I end up liking is that pirate getup and the Ensalin (spelling is wrong) armor well that and the Champion armor. Everything else looks pretty bleh.

Yeah but as I said before I'd rather the rivalry path had an effect on him if you sided with the mages. The whole ending from the moment the chantry blows nullifies the rivalry path completely and it was a huge disappointment. I don't really want the templar ending personally but I want my rivalry path to have the effect it should have on the support the mage ending.

Me too. And yes it does become such a dissappointment because I've been railing at him all game for no reason. He's learned absolutely nothing.

Bah.

Not to mention if you look at it a certain way it seems like Justice has completely taken over Anders at that point. =]

Oh god I <3 Champion Mage Armor. (Just wish the male mage's arm wasn't so scarily beefy.

To me it's simple, he's an irredeemable mass murderer if he doesn't have his cause.

And if he sides with the Templars in the end, that is as they say, is that.

I really have to agree with this. I mean, the WHOLE game he justifies everything he does because of his cause. To then join the Templars in killing his own kind would be rather...counterproductive. To say the least.

So Anders just gave me the "So seriously, wtf? Fenris? Really?" talk, and I happened to have Fenris in my party. And he was all "Screw you so much, Anders, you hypocritical douchebag." Which I was kinda glad to hear, because Anders was all "mew mew mew one bad experience and he hates all mages, he sucks" and it's like maaaan you should so not be throwing stones in your pretty glass house, dude.

Rival ManHawke just rolled his eyes at the catfight and helped Anders collect poop for his mystery potion like a good boy.

I know.

This makes me happy. I know it's strange but seeing his values be completely torn down like that. It'll be down right disturbing. And if it's anything like my OMG at the twistedness of broodmother. Well.

Frankly the chance to have my Hawke be such a manipulative bastard thrills me.

Then again I am a slightly sick individual.

Just a tad. :innocent:

LOL

So very true.

I'm still not sure if my new mage should be Anders rival or friend. I've decided no more romancing until the bug's fixed (it just feels too frustrating). So I might just stick with rival and then kill him at the gallows.

I can't imagine Anders' life after switching sides and slaughtering his own as consisting of more than sitting and doing the thousand yard stare until he expires.

What are you talking about?
He'll become domestic Anders, since the templars will forgive him.
Then he'll cook Hawke dinner every night and wash his socks.
OR...you know....his mind will become warped and twisted, and after the battle's over his emotions will be like :D:happy:^_^:?:(:crying:

Meanwhile, Justice is like: :pinched::pinched::pinched::pinched::pinched:<_<

Different strokes I suppose. ^_^

I can't see Anders doing the thousand yard stare on either side. Not as long as Vengeance is raging inside him.

Going completely nuts and turning on Hawke? Sure. But just being a doll? ...Hm....maybe. I much prefer the Vengance flipping out and Hawke having to put him down ending though.

I can completely see your point.
But I just think he would feel pretty confused and unstable once it was all over.

This.

Also, someone in another thread compared him to Ketojan in the ending where Hawke is able to have him side with the templars, and I think it's perfect. At that point he's so uncertain of who he is and what he should do he's handing himself over to the ideals of another and would, figuratively, destroy himself by killing the mages because that is what is expected of him.

Ok, it's not totally perfect, but I really like it, especially since Anders reacts so strongly to Ketojan's argument.

Vengeance would probably want to kill his own host to avenge all the people he needlessly murdered. Or if he's sufficiently screwed up, continue killing both sides to achieve some twisted idea of balance.

My mage relished in killing other mages. At least the Templars stab you from the front.
