I don't think it's inconsistent as much as he just has difficulty explaining it. I think he experiences their thoughts as one, but is informed enough to know which aspect of himself his conflicting opinions can be attributed to. Partly, I think he also just wants to blame Justice in some cases to avoid taking responsibility for some of his thoughts and actions, given that he seems to indentify more strongly with his Anders personality towards the beginning of the game.

Hmm, that makes sense.  I agree.

I cannot even imagine how much of a mess Anders's mind is.  Geez.  It makes my own brain hurt just thinking about it.

Aw, sorry. Silliness is about the best I can achieve when it's nearly 3 AM. Maybe it's a sign that I need to go to bed. -_-

Man, I'm not saying that's the reason y'all want it. I said that it seems that way because it's always brought up and that's when my tenuous grasp of why people want this ending lets go.

If you find it appealing to turn Anders into an even more destroyed and broken person than he is, who is practically throwing himself on every sword, dagger, pointy rock and really big splinter in Thedas then more power to you.

I just hate it.

If you go this route, in DA3 the intro probably says something like the reason the Champion disappeared was because right after they left Kirkwall, Vengeance/Anders shanked her, tossed her body into the bay, and then ran screaming and naked into the woods to throw himself onto a really big splinter.

I guess just imagine the kind of person who has a lot of trouble trying to choose what to wear in the morning, then apply that to absolutely every aspect of his life.

Where does the baby gestate?

*Merrill voice*

Where does it come out, for that matter. Ceasaran section?

Oh yeah nothing short of bodily mutilation is involved. The egg lands on the guy's abdomen and bam! Guy dies in a matter of seconds. A horrible and cruel fate for us men.

With regards to Anders. Theoretically, making babies with him could entail just use of ancient magic and essence of an Old God. Don't think he'll be prodding Hawke about being fat anytime soon.

...That would drive me insane.

Anders...can't even have alone time because he has so many (potentially at least) conflicting thoughts.

I wonder how often he sleeps? And how does Justice react I wonder. I could swear he discussed sleeping but I can't remember it to save my life.

But doesn't the whole Taint (hah) mean that Anders is probably shooting blanks?

Well that explains the Prettiest Hobo outfit, I guess.

Justice: I want to wear the feathers today
Anders: No way, dude.  I want to wear my patchy coat.
Justice: No, I hate that coat!
Anders: Look, I already took out the earring for you--
Justice: It was SO last-season Orlesian!
Anders: --so you need to chill out and let me wear the coat!
Justice: ..... FEATHERS!
Anders: FINE.  We will wear the feather pauldrons over the coat and look silly.  I hope you're happy.
Justice: I am appeased.
Anders: Are we agreed to wear the +2 Boots of Sexy Awesome-ness as usual?
Justice: Oh of course.  Those boots are stylin'.

Olive response to her talking about living in the house. "You're a Hawke", I believe it is. You talk about how you'll make the name "Hawke" worth something and she says you sound just like your father.

So, obviously, Hawke's dad was a very strong willed good guy with convictions. No wonder he/she wants to bone Anders. Daddy issues. Really. Everything always comes down to that.

I never say the "You're a Hawke" one, that paraphrase seems totally obnoxious. You got married, the Hawke family owns your ass now, Mom.

I just think of Anders and Justice as split-personalities. Everything makes sense when I look at it that way - each one being in the same mind and yet separate, Justice knowing everything Anders does, Anders blacking out when Justice takes over, etc. One personality can eventually take over completely. In this case, that seems to be Justice. But it doesn't always have to end that way.

Ashwraith wrote...

So, show of hands: who keeps Anders in their party all the time?
Because I do.
Well, with my RogueHawke, anyway.
Considering some of the shenanigans my group gets up to, I imagine it makes for some very awkward conversations, particularly since Anders is always "HAWKE YAY" and "HUG ME" and "NO OH GOD DON'T LEAVE" *anklecling* in-game.

"Justice does not approve of my obsession with you."
That's because she steals money.
"He believes you are a-"
From orphans.
"- a distraction."
And then laughs about it.
"It's one of the few things we disagree on."
ORPHANS, Anders.

*raises hand* Kaya Hawke drags Anders everywhere.

I see why Justice doesn't approve of your RogueHawke. xD Poor thing. My Kaya would be wondering why Anders says that Justice doesn't approve of her. Their conversation would probably go something like this -

Anders: Justice doesn't approve.
Kaya: But why? D: I've always helped mages! I promised to kill all the templars with him!
Anders: Well, you see, it's... he's been watching you sleep. He doesn't approve.
Kaya: He doesn't approve of sleeping?
Anders: He thinks you should be out killing templars instead.

I'd like to see Hawke walk in on this conversation. xD

I don't think the taint makes the Warden sterile, just greatly diminishes the chances a pregnancy will be carried to term. Alistair's mother is implied to be a Grey Warden in the books, anyhow, so it's possible.

I don't remember exactly where. Somewhere. You can never have enough daddy issues.

Nope. Warden + Non Warden can have children. It's more difficult but it can be done the natural way.

Warden+ Warden= no babies.

Justice, if only you and my Hawke were friends. The three of you could be giant queens together.

Every pairing I've been interested in lately has had a father/son dynamic going on. Luckily, I look at my own life and go "oh, thank god, completely lacking that". I've always wondered, though, if my Hawke saw Anders as a way of "fixing" his dad's life. Or proving himself to someone like his dad, where he couldn't be (you know, serious and dedicated to snarky and flippant).

Or maybe it's just the sparkly fingers and the sharp nose. Who knows?

lol.

I wonder what that means for my Dude Hawke though? O_o

She says Anders reminds her of Hawke's father...but Hawke is also similar to his father...

You know what I'm not even gonna touch that.
