I loved that line too. Because I could pretend Sebastian was totally jealous that Anders got a piece of the Hawke action.

I'd like to think they had lots of fights over Anders while Hawke was being a good Andrastian, paying his tithes, heading to sermons and generally looking like he wasn't causing trouble while his boyfriend slowly went nuts and developed a dangerous plan.

Mostly attempts at philosophical fights where Hawke focused on, dayum, he was hungry, I want a sandwich, you want a sandwich, Seb?

Pissing Sebastian off is extreamly gratifying. I support more Sebastian just so I can tell him to shove it.

Heh.

No, I kinda feel bad for the guy. I mean, Hawke's (at least my Hawke) not a bad guy. He's generally good. He has a weird response to law, mostly that it makes him snicker and roll his eyes, and he is an apostate, but he's not awful. It's just that stupid abomination is rubbing off on him.

Just thought I'd drop this in here, cause I know there is a lot of rage agaisnt Sebastian and thought people may be intrested given the threats he gives in reaction to keeping Anders alive. I definitly harbor rage for anyone that threatens my Anders.

Jennifer Hepler(in the Sebastian thread): "Sebastian's story is not finished yet. Don't worry."

Sebastian is coming to get you and your precious little Anders. Watch out.

I used to think Sebastian was cool with the accent and all, but now his whole presence is galling. It bothered me to hear some of his banters with other companions about how he was unwillingly sent to the Chantry and that nobody is truly free. Of course, because that means a life in the Chantry is evidently comparable to the subjugation of a group of people whose aptitude for magic is inborn. He's like a religious zealot who perceives the world in one way and seeks to indoctrinate as many people as he can.

(then again, this could be more of a personal issue because I got sick and tired of bible thumping nutcases telling me that I'm going to hell for living my life a certain way)

Oh, Hawke's father issues. I'm just going with the theory that Kaya grew up to be like her father (that comment from Leandra about how her father would have said the exact same thing with the exact same expression was adorable) and Kaya likes people who are similar to her. So Anders and Justice, with their ideals and combined personality, are a perfect fit.

Whereas mine... okay, I admit it, for her it's a huge horrible guilt trip.
Aside from protecting Bethany, Calanthe never did have much purpose in her life, so seeing someone with that much passion and drive toward a goal is... I'm not sure 'inspiring' is the right word, but it's close.
Of course, it's kind of blinded her to the fact that trying to take on the Chantry is a HORRENDOUSLY BAD IDEA, but Bethany's starry-eyed idealism may have rubbed off on her big sis a bit.
She paid them orphans back, yanno.
Plus interest.
I like to imagine Justice!Anders dragging her there by the ear.

So justice = Sten?

God, I miss Sten. I felt bad killing all the not-my-Sten Stens during the Qunari attack. ;c;

Anders: You look tired. Didn't you sleep well?
Kaya: No time for sleep. Justice kept me awake all night. I mean, it was fun... but he's really hard to keep up with.
Anders: Damn it, Justice! Now you're stealing my girlfriend?!
Kaya: ...We were killing templars, sweetie. Believe me, I wish it was what you were thinking.
Justice: *knows what Anders was thinking* o///o

...I think I cracked a rib laughing.

I wonder how often he sleeps? And how does Justice react I wonder. I could swear he discussed sleeping but I can't remember it to save my life.

Anders did say something about how he tried to avoid the fade as often as he could because "it's disturbing when he(Justice) takes over."

But wouldn't he go to the fade everytime he slept? Insomniac? Plus being a mage and all and... I am always confused about the lore with the fade.

I don't think people (even mages) remember much about what the Fade is like when they visit it during their dreams.

Hmm I always assumed Anders could meet Justice in the Fade in dreams and it was one of the rare opportunitites for them to actually have a conversation. But maybe it's Justuce taking over

OH GOD NO, DON'T GIVE US MORE SEBASTIAN!!! (I know this is a bit late, but I must scream my raeg!) Or at least, if we get more Sebastian, let my Hawke PUNCH THE CRAP OUT OF HIM. Please?

But srsly, I actually would like a bit more Sebastian. His hissy fit at the end of my playthrough was so unsatisfying. I had so many more things I wanted to say to him:

Sebastian: I will raise an army and come back to Kirkwall and raise it to the ground, because you let this man, with his pretty, pretty eyes, and mobile and sensuous mouth, live after killing an old woman.

Hawke: Dude, he just blew up the Chantry. Do you want to come back and kill everyone he MISSED? Oh, and BTW, I'm totally running off with Isabela on a ship after all this crap goes down, so you WON'T EVEN GET TO KILL US.

Sebastian: Your logic is meaningless to me.

Hawke: Sure. Fine. Whatevs.

That sounds like Justice. xD And speaking of Hawke's siblings... I've realized that Kaya promised to help Justice kill all of the templars when her brother was a templar. Awkward family reunion, for sure.

Poor Kaya. She loves Justice as much as Anders, but he's only interested in the mission. I can see her friends trying to help her out, with only a little success.

Kane Amell: Kaya does what you want, but you don't do anything she wants? That's not fair. You're doing her an injustice.
Justice: *sadface*
Kaya: Don't listen to him! D': *hugs Justice* Kane! I don't want you to guilt him into it.
Kane: No? But I'm good at guilt. I convinced Loghain to make a demon baby with a witch of the wilds.
Kaya: How you save Ferelden is your business. But I love him!
Kane: Ah yes, human emotion. Well, he doesn't seem to mind the hug.
Justice: I shouldn't be enjoying this. It's unjust. >///> I should stop thinking out loud too.
Kane: Mission accomplished. No need to repay me. The Chantry explosion was thanks enough. ;)

Yeah, that seemed to be the gigantic flaw in his plan to RAZE KIRKWALL TO THE GROUND RAAR. I'm not going to be there, dude.

I feel bad for him too, though, and I totally get where he's coming from. I should murderknife Anders for what he did. I would be more upset about it if someone I was friends with was inside. It is completely moronic to annul the Circle because of something an apostate did.

If knifing Anders would stop the Rite of Annulment, my Hawkes thus far would've done it in a heartbeat. But it won't, so they haven't been able to bring themselves to do it, even though both of them thought it was probably the right thing to do. But they can't. Even in my current playthrough, I plan to tell him to run and I will kill him by siding with the templars. I'd rather he die fighting. So I'm afraid Sebastian is never going to be happy with me. I wouldn't be either, if I were him. :(

Evening, all! The playlist has been updated with the suggestions from today. It's getting ridiculously long, but it makes great background music while catching up on this thread and I'm finding lots of new songs to add to my own collection.

Regarding pregnancy between Hawke and Anders, I'm not sure if I would want it for them, personally. I'm still not sure if Anders' "our children" line in the circle was a general "children of magekind" reference, or that he is specifically intending on knocking up Hawke in the future. To which my Hawke turns white and quickly makes up an excuse to go and do something else which is terribly important and means she won't be coming to bed until very, very late, and please don't wait up.

Since he's both a Warden and a mage, I wonder if the dreams caused by the taint are better or worse for him than non-mage Wardens. He would have some degree of control over the Fade while asleep, given his training, but would that help him tone down those dreams, or make them feel even more real? I agree that he's probably something of an insomniac.

I imagine he's also pretty dedicated to his clinic, and working long hours would not be unusual for him, at least up until Dissent. Even while they're still "just friends", my Hawke would probably bring him food there and nag that he's not taking care of himself by lurking in the damn sewers all the time. And then she'd ask him to tell her about his work, and if he's had any interestingly oozy patients lately.

While the tragedy of Act III is heart-rendingly good drama, I can't help but think that between the Deep Roads and them finally hooking up after Dissent, Anders and Hawke would have been awesome just hanging out together, bouncing terrible jokes off each other and speculating about Fenris and Isabela's sex lives.

And on Justice and Anders' mind-merging?

THERE IS NO HOPE BUT US. THERE IS NO MERCY BUT US. THERE IS NO JUSTICE. THERE IS JUST US.

Oh I think both Anders and Sebastian are such gloriously tragic characters. I actually felt horribly guilty for Sebastian's sake and then he went all psycho-holy-war on me, but i STILL didn't think of him any less. And then he said "I will show your precious Anders what real Justice is" or something and made it personal. Now I will sort of enjoy killing him if I get the chance.

On a very unconnected note: When Anders first said "I will break your heart" I thought the main drama between us was going to be about templars catching us and turning me or him tranquil, I thought that had a great drama potential. Also, sorry if this has already been discussed, do you think Anders is immune to tranquility? Since he's got a piece of the living Fade inside of him?

Kaya Hawke would like kids. At the moment, though... those plans were obviously put on hold. They need to concentrate on the beginning stages of the revolution for now.

I hadn't thought about it before, but maybe it's possible. He did manage to help Karl, who was already tranquil, to feel the Fade for one last time when Justice came out for a while.

I really don't understand the obsession with DA characters having babies post-game. Can't a live be just as glorious and meaningful WITHOUT offspring? And surely having children for the sake of having them in a horribly dangerous and unstable war situation is not the best decision?

As for Anders and Hawke specifically, I think when Anders said "our children" he meant children of mages. Also, he has a hard time allowing himself to be Hawke's partner and accept himself as who he is, I can't imagine him wanting to bring a child into the world he just send to war that might last decades. Even if there wasn't a war I can imagine him saying "You have seen what I am I am a monster and you want me to be a father?"

And on top of that 7 years of being tainted have probably destroyed any chances for children to be honest.

Pretty much all of this. Prior to the whole "going on the run with a crazy apostate after blowing a crater in the middle of a city" my Hawke might have wanted kids... one day. In the distant future. When she's ready to stop adventuring. Now that she's been swept up by events, and given her own childhood was spent on the run, I think that, even as completely rash and irresponsible as she is, she could see that having a child at this point would be a monumentally Bad Idea.
If Anders eventually got Justice under control or got rid of him completely, he might make a great dad, especially with the chance that a child between the two of them would be a mage. But given his circumstances and the state of the world, I think it would be more like, "You want what? Maker's breath, woman, and people say I'm the crazy one."

Well he did say something about a dream (which would mean sleep) about a naked grand cleric and a giant cheese wheel.....

I'm in the same camp.  I'm replaying in Act 3 now (for the third time lol), and I feel really bad for Seb.  He and my Hawke were on the rivalry path, and the relationship really sours in Act 3, especially if you're romancing Anders.

I feel bad because he's the one decent guy running around with all these crazy people, and he doesn't know how to deal with them.  Someone like Sebastian can't handle people like Anders and Hawke, can't understand why they must do what they do.

I hope that Seb DLC means that if Anders is alive, he'll also be in DLC. I mean, how could you have Seb attacking Kirkwall or whatever, without including the reason he's doing it? Then again, future Seb stuff could be about something entirely different I suppose. *is still hopeful in a sort of pessimistic way*
