Anders hates Fenris anyway, but you throw romance into the mix, and it's funny...if a little bit mean.
He just nitpicks. For example, if you romance Fenris and not Anders, he will leave in Act 2. Then Anders says something like, "I don't know what Hawke sees in you." Fenris then says it's over, and Anders says, "Good. I always knew he/she had sense."

Honestly, he just nitpicks. A lot. And if you continue the romance in Act 3, he'll confront you about it and call him a wild dog, or something like that, and you can choose to defend him. If Fenris is in your party, he'll say something about it, too.

I've had the nitpick scene always seem to trigger when going for the poop crystals in the sewer.   As soon as we enter, Anders initiates the conversation.  If Fenris is there, he steps in and ends with a comment about how Hawke is surrounded by hypocrites.

And then the weapons are drawn....

Of course, this is just because you pretty much get into combat right away, but it is a little like they are about to throw down in darktown.
