Also I support this image you have in your brain whatever it might be.  Original characters are fine too.

Blind unconditional support of my musings is a new and wonderful thing.

Um so yeah Anders... :D

I've always had ideas for original characters in a DA setting just for eye-candy purposes, no real bearing or importance -- just there for my amusement.

... Yeah about that Anders, I clearly have allowed my thoughts to stray from him.  Forgive me everyone.  OTL

I was sketching some this weekend but my drawings are **** so yeah.  Anders is actually a little tough to draw for me.

I'd like to hear more of Stoud/Riordan as long as he isn't voicing a character that looks so ... greasy... again.  Or someone that has a 70s pornstache.

WHY THE MUSTACHE. I DON'T EVEN.

They're creepy IMO. But yeah, less greasy and more surly French dude. Warrior with like a serious business caesar haircut. Ooh. I have a whole image of this guy already.

Yeah I hope that if we get a french romanceable dude in DA3 I hope he has that bedroom french voice and isn't total cheese.  Or maybe even someone like Jean Reno.

Also I support this image you have in your brain whatever it might be.  Original characters are fine too.

Jean Reno really?  Non... Vincent Cassel!  He makes sucka  good vilain.. a romanceable vilain...

Though I also support Pseudo visions... I already have a weird crush on her ginger Hawke as it is...

Jean Reno was totally awesome and manly in The Professional! Then again I just have a thing for action stars like that. Bruce Willis, omggggggggg.

I seriously did a double-take when Stroud started speaking. "RIORDAN! WHAT IS ON YOUR FACE. WAIT, WHY ARE YOU NOT DEAD?"

My Hawke was a little bit jealous of Bethany, taint and all, when Stroud took her away. She gets to go gallivant around the world with Orlesians as a badass Grey Warden, while Hawke had to go home and have her mother hate her even more.

I guess all my senses were focused on that mustache (the bristtles in the wind...) to recognise the voice of Riordan.  You guys are good.

I did, too...but I'm glad it was confirmed here because I thought I was crazy, since no one else mentioned recognizing the voice. lol

According to imdb, it is the same guy voicing Nathaniel, though I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't just looked it up. Like you say, his voice was far too raspy and not in a sexy way like I remembered. I was so excited about getting to see him, too. My Warden definitely had a soft spot for the guy. <sigh>

Dammit, I missed Awakening Nathaniel's voice. It was broody and unbelievably sexy. Especially when he says, "I hope you have a point, ANDERS." Why does it have to be different in DA2? Maybe Simon was sick? Or it was changed to match his age?

I... may have spent far too much time at Eamon's Denerim house listening to him talk in DA:O. Maybe.

I recognised Stroud instantly, but I didn't realise who Brekker was until my second playthrough, and then felt dumb. :?

He lost a bit of his broody splendor I guess. Could be Nate: Battle-Hardened Mode or something. Personally i was hoping he'd have more to say to Anders but I'm happy he was there at all.

Also while we're off topic, just gonna put it out there, as far as broodmeisters go, IMO, Awakening Nate Voice > Fenris Voice.

Who was Brekker?? Usually, I attack as soon as he calls me a flea-bitten refugee, soooo...we don't exactly chill and talk.

Adam Howden.

I didn't get it until someone mentioned it here.

It was the same guy in DA2, but he was considerably rougher.  That's just a consistency issue.

@Pseudo -- YESSS.  I've heard this guy talk with a normal voice too, on a TV show.  It's complete ear sex.

Sorry Gideon.

You know you are really procrastinating when you take this as a srs bizns and you take time to go on youtube to listen to both.  Both then again that are this thread is for... that and ANDERS!

I think Fenris voice is too rich for my taste if it makes sense? Nate was more dry and natural?

Why yes i am a professional voice over critique! pfff

That robe thing Hawkette wears around the house is not terribly attractive.
Though I should not complain, it's better than most rogue armour which is unbelievably ugly *mutters angrily at being a ROGUE and being so unsexy*

The boots are AMAZING and I would like them with every outfit. The top part is not that flattering, and the skirt clips a lot.

Also, never wear it to talk to Fenris, because I'm pretty certain there is nothing really under that skirt? and Hawke will flash him. Unless that's your thing, which works.

I have a mod that takes attribute requirements from all armor and the only non-warrior peice my Hawke wears is the Elven Leather armor, which is a green recolor of Ferelden Field armor that warriors start out in. The rogue armor is uniformly terrible and most of the mages robes are oddly textured or have pointless skin windows. I do covet the mage Champion armor, if only because my warrior would really like to show off her arms once in a while. They are awesome!

I really do like the Champion armor for warriors, mostly for the gloves and those badass boots. Oh! And the leather and mail skirt thingy. The chest piece is a little...excessive.

The champion mage armor is my favourite from any armor ever.
Second favorite is the robe of the pirate or whatever... it has low specs but my mage is currently running around in it because she's sick and tired of robes! I only like the blue robes, every other brown/grey business is ICKY.

"Dry" definitely works.

While we're on the subject of VAs, I like Howden much more for Doomed Anders than Ellis. I'm glad they made that switch. Howden absolutely owned every line. I don't doubt Ellis could but...

I preferred Howden for sadpandaAnders. I don't know if we could have gotten that amount of despair in Ellis' voice. He was perfectly suitable for Cullen, and hearing the two of them talk together would have been confusing.

I got Stroud this runthrough, what with my fake generated import... I do prefer Alistair as the grey warden you meet, he's so much sweeter and funnier. And less 70s porn!
Also... I am not all that enthused by French accents. If we go to Orlais for DA:3 I'm going to pout. The entire time.

heehee sadpanders.

I really liked the moments when Howden's Anders was being snarky, too. He sounded a little more fierce rather than just careless. Fierce like *snap in z-motion* too.

@Kolotosa: He may look like a hobo but he keeps those brows plucked.

@Dea: Any moment where Alistair shows up is golden.  I wish I could somehow have him as Drunk King Warden.

You know, I imported a save where Alistair was exiled and I didn't get drunk pub Alistair.

I never got Alistair in the Wardens yet.. just got drinking his taint away Alistair and King Alistair... will have to hope for him on my next playthrough.

I am with you on the pouting but so far it points to a lot of Orlesians for DA3 though they do have silk underwear!

Also even more OT everytime i see you name I think Deal Hamlet! Deal! which makes me smile because I always thought hamlet could do better with a swift kick in the ass

That's a pity, it was probably my favorite import dialogue-wise.  Everyone just HANGING AROUND talking about their TAINT.
