Second question: Can someone please help me in thinking up a warrior Lady Hawke to rival-mance Anders?
Well, I am playing a Mage FemHawke, and I have Anders almost completely maxed out at rivalry and haven't yet finished Act 1. I have chosen mostly snarky remarks for her, so she is not aggressive at all, unless it is absolutely necessary. It is possible to talk to Anders and get rivarly out of him, without being a complete douche.
When you get back from Tranquility and talk to him, choose the snarky dialogue option, wo which he replies that your are proud and honest. Then when he tells you about Justice, be snarky again (Hawke will say the merger is "still creepy"), but Anders doesn't start glowing and wishing to tear your head off. And it gets you some nice rivalry (I think a +10).
Then take him on the Feynriel quest, and send the half-elven child to the Circle. Not the most compassionate thing to do, but here's how I got around my conscience: I know little to nothing of the Dalish, and the only Dalish spellcaster I know better is Merril... a blood mage. It doesn't bode well, better send him to the Circle. Result: Anders major rivalry.
Take Anders with you for the Starkhaven mages as well, and force them back into the Circle. Motivation: they have associated with a crazy blood mage, and you cannot just take their word for them not being blood mages themselves. You just don't want to take that chance. Off to the Circle they go. Result: +25 rivarly from Anders.
Also have Anders for the Enemies among us quest, when you go see Idunna. Send her to the Circle, because even though she is a blood mage and you are totally against that, you still believe that people should be given a second chance, and the Circle would be the safest place for her to be in (both for herself as well as other people). Anders rivalry: +5.
Then there's Shepherding Wolves. There you can get +25 to Rivarly from him, at no cost from your other non-mage companions. Refuse Sister Petrice at first. Hawke will say that she doesn't want to get into trouble with the Qunari, which is reasonable. I mean, you don't want to provoke them and turn them on Kirkwall, right?

And then hand Ketojan over to Ashaad, as per Ketojan's request. Motivation: respecting Qunari custom, and avoiding their provocation, and also b/c it was Ketojan's express wish.
Now I gotta figure out a way of making up for the loss of rivalry points for taking Anders into the deep roads... I will get +10 Friendship if I do not take the demon's deal, and another +5 if I will ask him to help Carver...
