See, now I'm curious about how others think relationships played out for their canon Hawkes.
In my head canon, Hawke and Anders have massive chemistry but she was trying to take his warnings to stay away seriously, so for the first four years they were awesome mates who flirted now and then. The Fenris thing was sudden and unexpected hate-sex (go go rivalry), and as far as Hawke was concerned it was over the morning after it began. Izzy's seduction was a mostly based on curiosity, and probably re-occured several times right up until Anders finally gave it up. Up until The Kiss, this screenshot pretty much summed up Hawke and Anders' entire relationship. Getting him to admit that there was something between them was an enormous triumph for my Hawke, and I can imagine her face being set into a smug little smirk for the next week or so after he caved.
What about everyone else? How did things play out between your Hawkes and Anders?
In
my head, Hawke and Isabela were hooking up shortly (and repeatedly) after she got back from the Deep Roads and Anders put the kibosh
(short for anyone interested) on whatever they might be feeling for each other. Hawke was lonely without her sister and sort of lost without any kind of goal besides "keep mom safe", so she spent a lot of time at the Hanged Man and Isabela was happy to take her mind off of it all.
But the Fenris thing wasn't sudden for my Hawke, who was hatemancing him the moment he used her as a distraction. She knew that she was attracted to him, and he to her, but she didn't expect it to matter much at all. Once it was over, and he left, she realized that she felt guilty for what she'd done because there
was something there, for both of them. If he'd actually talked to her about it, she may have put off Isabela again and kept herself from Anders (because she respected his reasoning for not being with her). But he didn't, so she went back with Isabela for a while until Anders finally realized she wasn't going to go away, with her insistence on being supportive and protective, and he wasn't going to be any less into her.
And she fell for him before she even met him. Lirene's description of him got it started and the whole tortured healer/apostate thing and "Those bastards made me get rid of my cat!" were all like Hawke-nip to her. His kindness to Bethany just sealed it.
