Has anyone ever talked to Anders while in the Qunari compound. He says, "Qunari give me the creeps. No one is that dedicated to some abstract ideal."

Really Anders? Really?

PFasldkfjsd. Haha. Oh, Bioware.

He's my favorite kind of fictional stupid, fortunately.

lmao.

Anders is such a collosal hypocrite

I love him to death but sometimes I just can't stop laughing at the stuff he spits out.
*snip*

Yeah, I laughed. I'll just assume he meant to finish with, "...unless that person is possessed by the spirit of that abstract ideal." Or something.

Oh Anders. I love you anyway, silly.

I just like to imagine Hawke and the rest of the party slooooowly turning around to give him the most deadpan "Are you kidding?" look EVER.  And Anders just goes "What?"

I reserve this face for Anders, Fenris, and Sebastian.

Because honestly, AYFKM can't even begin to describe what I feel, lol. Especially, with those three, together....maybe shirtless and with a bit of sweat...okayillshutupnow.

"Once he was inside me, he... changed."

That's what she said, Anders.  That's what she said.

I have a question if anyone knows the answer: During Fenris' Act 3 quest, Alone, Anders says to Fenris,"Your sister is a mage? You're SUCH a hypocrite." Why would he say that? I thought it's been made pretty clear to Hawke and her posse that Fenris doesn't remember anything and didn't remember that he even had a sister until recently, let alone that she's a mage.

Something tells me he doesn't share the specifics of his memory loss with Anders.

He only finds out he had a sister through Hadrianna. Without that piece of information, he never would've known who Varania was.

Besides, Anders would jump at anything incriminating against Fenris.

Well, he's made it clear to Hawke that he doesn't remember his past.  Yes, you'd think Anders would've picked up on that after hanging around each other for 6 years, but I imagine they don't interact at all except when forced by proximity when Hawke drags them along.

We can probably assume that Fenris never shared that information with Anders and that Hawke was polite enough not to gossip about it.

Yeah but the rest of the game seems to operate on a everybody-knows-what-Hawke-knows basis.

You know, out of curiosity I decided to take the lines that don't lead to a kiss, and the dialogue is a bit more interesting though you don't get your face snogged off. I had never actually heard it until now and am just like ;-------; These lines in particular:

"Sometimes, I fear I cannot do this. Not while I struggle against this vengeance inside me. But I know you won't let me lose myself to him."

(Sarcastic alternate: "Seriously, though, I couldn't do this without your support. I couldn't... hold onto this spirit of vengeance inside me. But I know you won't let me lose myself to him."

Aggressive: "Every day, I feel the need for vengeance growing inside me. But I know you won't let me lose myself to him.")

I guess desperate makeouts preclude conversation, huh?

Yeah but this is Anders and Fenris haha.

I think Anders jumps to whatever conclusions he wants about Fenris and doesn't listen to the rest. I don't know where he got the 'wild dog' comparison for example.

Agreed. Everyone knows that Anders is an abomination-type mage and Merrill is a blood mage. I think Anders has a selective memory, in that he selects not to remember anything Fenris says.

In my head, Hawke and Isabela were hooking up shortly (and repeatedly) after she got back from the Deep Roads and Anders put the kibosh (short for anyone interested) on whatever they might be feeling for each other. Hawke was lonely without her sister and sort of lost without any kind of goal besides "keep mom safe", so she spent a lot of time at the Hanged Man and Isabela was happy to take her mind off of it all.

But the Fenris thing wasn't sudden for my Hawke, who was hatemancing him the moment he used her as a distraction. She knew that she was attracted to him, and he to her, but she didn't expect it to matter much at all. Once it was over, and he left, she realized that she felt guilty for what she'd done because there was something there, for both of them. If he'd actually talked to her about it, she may have put off Isabela again and kept herself from Anders (because she respected his reasoning for not being with her). But he didn't, so she went back with Isabela for a while until Anders finally realized she wasn't going to go away, with her insistence on being supportive and protective, and he wasn't going to be any less into her.

And she fell for him before she even met him. Lirene's description of him got it started and the whole tortured healer/apostate thing and "Those bastards made me get rid of my cat!" were all like Hawke-nip to her. His kindness to Bethany just sealed it.

Surely, I love you!<3 That short is absolutely amazing, so thank you for sharing it.

I would argue that while it's true that Qunari operate on abstract ideals, Anders doesn't. His ideals are fairly concrete and simple; free the mages. It's not at all theoretical.

I kind of conveniently blame vengeance for those jerk-ish remarks (The being glad if you turn Fenris over would be another one). I mean, it's not like Vengeance is known for having perspective on events or actions and they just seem so out of place with the more kind and compassionate side that anders shows.

didn't bother me because it sounded like a something that pre-vengeance anders would have said.

Is it on youtube? Somewhere? :P  I don't want to wait until my warrior playthrough to try it out, LOL.
I'd probably reload... I'm always nice, at most sarcastic with Anders.  Except the aggressive options in convo with him now have become "templars must die" type of things.  Aggressive Hawke approves of those rather than "you suck Anders" kind of aggressive options.
