uhmmm Anders with hair down. Would be interesting to see.

Rivalry with Merrill is actually really easy, and doesn't actually include a lot of being mean to her. Destroying the Evil Tomes, not letting her have the arulin'holm, taking her into the Fade and turning down Torpor - you can gain points surprisingly quickly. Hell, just picking sarcastic options over diplomatic ones will get you plenty of points.
There are a few kicked puppy moments, like her Act II Questioning Beliefs, but as long as you have a "you're a sweetheart, but you're messing with demons, Merrill," attitude you can still get along just fine.

I thought the abundant foreshadowing, Varric's concern, Anders' ridiculously dark click on commentary (I CAN'T GO ON LIKE THIS), the codexes, his deteriorating mood shown through banters etc, was enough.
The resulting hurt was a good hurt. So. Yes. I agree with you? Except that I wouldn't have wanted the warning upfront.

I tried drawing it down for one of my pix. It's kind of weird. Neither style makes him look less like a scruffy tired art student when I draw him haha.
I like it better up.

I think Anders' admonition of female Hawkes makes it hurt a little more for us who romanced him as male Hawkes. He gives you the impression that he's happy until Act 3 when he reveals that sh*t was about to go down then suddenly, you wished you were given the same warning.

First step is admitting that you have a problem....
....and I don't have one!
Thats the spirit!
And why do I find this oddly more adorable than usual?
Since I didn't get to say it then (I was reading on my iphone and I know better than to try and post from my phone)... I love that drawing. Love it!Pseudocognition wrote...

It was this drawing but I changed it because it was weird.
Maybe I'll try drawing it down again some other time.

I knooooow, I love that drawing! Pseudo's gingy looks so apprehensive and cute!
On another Anders-related note, I think the most disappointing thing about all the romances is that the siblings were gone before they really started. There is NOTHING I wanted more than to hear some Carver and Anders banter in which Carver threatens to beat Anders to a pulp for staring at his sister's butt. Or his brother's butt. Whatevs.

He's the John Smith (Pocahontas) to Pseudo's ginger Phoebus Hawke.
My Hawke is such a bro next to all these Disney princes, lol.

As long as we're on art, this one, too (was also browsing DA earlier)

Anders as Horatio Caine in first panel is just so... so....
And the author's "your chances of negotiation" bit in the description, too.
What I really missed was there were no awkward "take your LI home to meet your mother" conversations. That would have been so delightfully painful.leggywillow wrote...
