Rivalry with Merrill is actually really easy, and doesn't actually include a lot of being mean to her. Destroying the Evil Tomes, not letting her have the arulin'holm, taking her into the Fade and turning down Torpor - you can gain points surprisingly quickly. Hell, just picking sarcastic options over diplomatic ones will get you plenty of points.
There are a few kicked puppy moments, like her Act II Questioning Beliefs, but as long as you have a "you're a sweetheart, but you're messing with demons, Merrill," attitude you can still get along just fine.

Merrill rivalry is EXTREMELY easy.  You get +10 rivalry for destroying each tome, so that's 50 rivalry points just from that one quest!  Friendship is what I struggle to get with Merrill.  I want to try it on my mage who doesn't have huge qualms with blood magic.  At least, not enough qualms to constantly harass Merrill about it.  No idea how to get those friendship points, though.

I tried drawing it down for one of my pix. It's kind of weird. Neither style makes him look less like a scruffy tired art student when I draw him haha.

In my canon I'm making Carver a warden just so he and Anders will have more in common, wardens and all.
Cause otherwise I don't think Carver would approve of Ander, no way.

I have to agree, I really want to hear the banter, not to mention Anders and Bethany had some cute ones, and I really wanted to hear what she would have said when Anders and Hawke really starting getting close.

Aslo it seemed as soon as I they were growing on me they took them away how rude is that?

I agree!  Though I did enjoy plenty of banter between Anders and Bethany and Carver between they died and joined the warden respectively...  I would have liked some comments about our relationship.  Reinforcing the family feeling.  I really liked Carver.

What I really missed was there were no awkward "take your LI home to meet your mother" conversations. That would have been so delightfully painful.
