Rogue was my favorite class in DAO, it's been knocked down to least favorite in DA2. Makes me cry. I'd have an army of mages, warriors and rogues to throw at Anders if I hadn't caught the a case of the Shepards with my Hawke. As with my Shepard, I love the other classes, I love the other romances but Shepard will always be a kickass redhead Infiltrator who only has eyes for Garrus. Same as playing Hawke will always feel off if it's not Lenox. It's also a trend that my favorite NPCs tend to belong to the class I favour playing, it ends up being so matchy matchy against my will <_<

I think this is sort of the double edged sword of the voiced protagonist. For me, anyway. Once I hear the voice over the course of an entire game, they sort of get locked in. So MANSHEP is always going to be my slightly pignosed, brown haired, green eyed infiltrator who has yet to find someone he wants to bang (Tali is too little sister, Liara is a walking yawn until LotSB, Miranda has rabbit teeth and is a giant ass to everyone not Shepard, Jack is broken in a way that I feel massively uncomfortable with as a romance option, and Ashley is dead), and LadyShep is always going to be a nice black lady soldier with tragic purple lipstick I didn't notice until after I got out of the character creator who wuvvums Kaidan, even though he Carth'd all over her at Horizon.

Soooo, LadyHawke will always, deep down, be a lady warrior who is CRAZY FOR ANDERS (she was sarcastic, so sometimes she sounded totally crazypants herself, making hilariously inappropriate jokes at hilariously inappropriate times), and ManHawke will always be a cute mage who hates blood mages, except the one he sort of ended up sleeping with because shut up that's why.

I never had a problem with making different characters who have the same voice in-game. Probably because I spend much more time planning them outside of the game, where each one has their own voice. Never mind that FemShep's voice is too deep for my MainShep, or that MaleShep's voice isn't deep enough for my current MaleShep and doesn't have his accent - I imagine what I want to hear. xD It was a surprise that FemHawke's voice fit Kaya so perfectly.

Anders: Twix. Two biscuits dipped in caramel and chocolate. You pause more, you see more.

Actually I was worried about having multiple characters with the same voice, but the different personality settings (blue, purple, red) actually sound fairly different from each other so it's not bad.

Yeah, I noticed that too. And the "dominant personality" tone of voice worked great for me too. Kaya has mostly diplomatic responses, so when she went aggressive, it sounded like she was really calm while making threats... just like her. I admit, I was a little worried about that system at first. Glad to see it turned out so well.

The attitude changes is great. Not to mention even just exploring how characters respond. For example some characters may respond at a sarcastic response in a conversation and not an aggressive. Personally I prefer the sarcastic because it's more playful. The fact even that 3 companions and the pc can even all talk together in a full banter is a plus. I don't really remember that even in ME or ME2 and certainly not in DA:O. I rarely even remember all 3 companions talking in the same banter in Origins. That was rare indeed.

Hey, everyone! I just re-read the short story about Anders. And it says there he can't die by normal means. One of the grey wardens runs him through with a sword and it does nothing. How then can Hawke kill him?
On a related note, how can Justice leave Anders's body, how exactly does that work, if anyone knows? As I recall, Justice could only leave Kristoff's body once it was so rotten it couldn't function anymore. Anders says, once he dies, at least Justice will be free. But if his soul is intertwined with Justice so much that you can't tell where one begins and the other ends, how can Justice ever be separated, even after Anders's death (who according to the short story apparently can't die?)

This is hurting my brain.

Sorry to dive into a topiv from twopages back, but am I the only person who actually ENJOYED being a beacon of light and hope for Anders? First playthrough my mage was a sarcastic tough girl who cared little for people beyond the circle of her family and closest friends. All the way up to the end of Act 3 she didn't really care she was a hope and idol for mages or w/e but it made her happy she was the living proof that her partner's dreams coudl come true. I also enjoyed being lavished in his affections and I really don't get why you'd say you don't feel his love. If anything I feel his love more than I felt Alistair's when he dumped me because I couldn't make any babies. You could call Anders weak in that respect -he knows you would be better off without him, he doesn't want to involve you and make you a fugitive but his love makes him weak with need so he asks you to be with him over and over again. I find that beautiful - he will become a historical figure and a legend of great importance for Thedas in the future, he will be almost inhuman in the stories they will be telling about him in a 100 years. But the man who did exist was in love and that love was the most importaint thing in his life. Unfortunately at the time there were things more importaint than them both, but it didn't mean they couldn't have a loving and meaningful relationship while fighting. That's how I see it

I suppose being in Vengeance mode could of helped him in that. Or maybe feeling like he served his purpose after blowing up the chantry so he didn't resist or..

Hell, I have no idea.

I approve seeing Justice at some point if you killed Anders. Justice from Awakenings, I mean. Not what he turned into, assuming his transformation into Vengeance isn't kinda permanent.

Or maybe he'll stay Vengeance and come after Hawke for killing him. o_o

It would be cool to see Awakening Justice again. But also really sad, if Anders had to be killed for that to happen.

Going on everything we've heard in the game, I'm pretty sure it is. :( Actually I can't see how he can ever become just Justice/Vengeance. They are one with Anders now. If the spirit leaves Anders's body, I think he will be taking Anders's soul with him.

I still think that the moment when tranquil Karl experiences emotion again because of Justice bursting out of Anders is key. I know that tranquility is Anders'worst fear and it would be horrible to put him through it but maybe it would mean separation from Justice.

I don't even know if it's possible to make Anders tranquil.
But in my own game, I'd never do that to him. I'd rather kill him before that.

I don't think he died. He is the developers' favourite. The only two character (n Orghen) to have 2 major roles (as companions). And his part in DA2 is even bigger than Hawke (being the catalyst). The same goes for Leliana who not only has her own DLC but came back because the developers said she was just left for dead...

I'm sure knifed Anders is perma-dead Anders.

Whether or not Justice decides to haunt his corpse or not, but I'm sure Anders himself is completely gone.
