LOL. Yeah really, when the Chantry exploded I should have felt flattered. He put up such a show to let me know it was over between the two.
Hey, it's not over between him and my Hawke! XD Hawke is a very stubborn woman; it takes more than massive acts of terrorism to get her to give up on a relationship. LOL.
Oh god. I stayed with him too and I can imagine my Hawke shaking her head telling him, "If you wanted to end it you could've just buy me dinner?..."
/facepalm
Tough love. VERY tough love. I imagine my mage!Hawke, having been thoroughly mind-raped by everything in the course of the game, being like "Okay, you. I've made plenty of mistakes. You made one really big one. And now, we're going to keep fighting for freedom, protecting the mages, and existing in this world that we have created, and justice will be served to everyone when all is said and done, got it?" And I'm sure he'll know to trust her better in the future, considering she just spared his life when she could have very well ended him right there.
The world he describes to Hawke at the end is something my mage!Hawke would die to fight for, no matter how crazy his ideas on achieving it might have been. The prejudice against magic has screwed her family over, and she was an idiot for ever buying that mansion in Kirkwall and thinking she could somehow live a normal life. Her purpose was a little clearer in the end. Taking Flemeth's advice, she fell, because that's the only way she'd ever know if she could fly. And she became a dragon!
I wonder if some of the versions of the story that get told after that do involve her turning into a dragon after she had defeated Meredith, with the mage revolutionary held securely in her talons as she flew away...
But this was all in my head, don't mind me.
