Um, no, it's actually the same at that point. You have to pick the peace option at the exact right time, which will then lead to what I assume you're talking about, the flirt/flirt/no flirt branch. My ManHawkes completely missed Anders hitting on 'em because they were both all "JOKEY JOKE JOKE" in that conversation. Anders has yet to hit on my dudes actively. I bet it's because none of them have full beards.

Oh wait yeah I've had the sequence of that convo mixed up, since he's hit on my Hawke a few times in the convo leading up to the first 4 options. Teehee.

Well, just got to Sebastian's little... moment.

"I know you have sympathy for the rebels, but surely you must see they can't win. Frankly, both sides are despicable. I wouldn't leave Her Grace at the mercy of either. But it will be over soon, one way or the other.
"I know you and Anders are... It's not my place to question. But please, be careful. He's a dangerous man. And selfish. Whatever he promised, don't think he'll ever put you above his own needs."

You ****ing hypocrite. Someone give me a Shoot Sebastian In The Face With His Own Grandfather's Bow mod right the **** now, please.
Next play-through I'm not picking up his quests at all, so hopefully he will be in the Chantry when it blows. It will be a thrill of pleasure amidst the angst.

THIS. I picked him up the first time. If this scene wasn't enough, the ending when the Chantry blows...This playthrough and all future playthroughs? He can stand in that Chantry with that quest symbol over his head until Anders Jenga's it to teeny tiny pieces and GOOD RIDDANCE.

Now there's a thought. Next playthrough Chantry boy becomes one with the Chantry ceiling.

But then you won't have the satisfaction of shaming him and his whole army later!

I'm kinda hoping he comes back with a sexy vengence.

To quote Isabella... someone needs a spanking.

Hopefully it all ends with a one on one fist fight with Sebastian and then the armor comes of and then you're suddenly doing things forbidden by the Chantry.

I dunno... I think Margaret just wanted to punch him and leave the armor on.

Hi everyone! Stopping by to show support for my favourite hot-headed revolutionary mage ;)

I've been looking through the thread but there is no way I'll read nearly 400 pages anytime soon. Anders is indeed a well written character if he inspires so many different emotions in people.

Anyway I've been playing through some Anders romantic dialogs to see what the other responses are and wondered about something. First time I played I always used the first romantic option that popped out on the left side of the dialog wheel because I didn't want to miss the romance. Now I noticed that in the second conversation in the first Act if you choose the top-diplomatic answer (instead of left-romantic) Anders actually flirts with you instead just reject my attempt to seduce him. I kind of missed that in my first playthrough and now I'm positively surprised that it is there. Still I wished it wasn't hidden like that. On the other hand in the conversation with a kiss if you choose 'normal' answers instead of romantic it skips the kiss and I'm not sure if the romance scene at home happens at all.
So was it only me that missed Anders actively flirting Hawke in first Act or was it just not as intuitive as it should be.

Innestin! Must be a Lady Hawke only thing? 3/4 dialogue options with manHawke always leads to Anders hitting on him, the fourth being "SHUT THE HELL UP" .

My Hawkes, too.  I just didn't find Sebastian that attractive.  His face looks weird, and I don't like his hair.  And his accent kinda makes me giggle (MARDAR!).  He's certainly not unattractive by any means, but he just doesn't compare to Anders or Fenris in my book.

This is one instance where I'm kind of sad that they took out the romance PDAs. Otherwise I would take Sebastian around everywhere and every time he started talking crap about apostates I'd have Hawke grab Anders and have an epic protest make-out session right in front of him until he shut his pretty boy mouth.

THAT would be wonderful!  LOL

I second this alternative. That's what's so unattractive about Sebastian. He's vastly moralistic with only one narrow view of the world. When he told Anders that the Chantry will kill him, he goes on to pompously declare that Anders shouldn't compare himself to Andraste. Anders is doing something worthwhile for an ENTIRE group of people, while Sebastian sits idly, following Chantry principles and not doing a damn thing to change its injustices.

Anders is pretty selfish, though. And petty. And jealous and dangerous. That was part of the crazy my Hawke liked, though.

The joke will be on him when Anders ends up exactly like Andraste, with his own creepy cult to boot :innocent:

Have you noticed that there isn't a SINGLE chantry sister ministering to the refugees in Darktown? They're hanging around Lowtown and Hightown, but the one place where they ABSOLUTELY needed, not a single one.

Whereas Anders is down there all the time.

Oh I KNOW. When he said he's SELFISH I just went... Sebastian... wha? I don't even... you are an absolute... GAHHH!

His own needs are freedom for an entire sector of the population. Yeah. REALLY EFFING SELFISH choir-boy.

But choir boy does say the truth!  Anders will not put you above his needs (vengeance, justice, Chantry fireworks party).  I dont think he is selfish but I can see why Sebastian would think that.  Plus he can project a lot... Sebastian is definately flip flopping on the devoting himself to Andraste or Starkhaven.

And from the first time we see him, obviously working himself to exhaustion to help people for free.

I really like how so many people on these forums are so quick to condemn him for that one horrible act, which may or may not have been completely  his fault, when he's spent at least seven years saving/helping people with little to no reward while putting his neck on the line at the same time.

This is why Anna, despite her obsession for a certain Tevinter former slave, love Anders like a brother.  She does her best to protect him and his good works.  And will forgive him/not blame him.

What, you mean this face?

There is absolutely nothing weird about his face. ;)

Then again, I stopped looking at anyone else once I got Anders on my team. But seriously, I didn't hate Sebastian. In the end, though, I just didn't care too much about him one way or another. He flip flopped around too much.

To be fair, it's pretty horrible what he does. You don't necessarily avoid condemning a murderer just because by day he helped orphans.

If Anders' "needs" are to achieve freedom for an entire hated and abused minority, I'm more than fine with him being selfish and putting them above me. But I don't think those are his needs, as such. That's his goal, his ideal, and he is sacrificing his actual needs (healing people without pay; putting himself in the path of templars to help others; working towards freedom at the cost of friends, companionship and, ultimately, his own life) to accomplish them. That's more admirable than contemptible, I think.

I dont doubt is dedication to either causes actually.  I am not a believer myself but I admire people who can devote themselves entirely to something.  Part of the attraction of Anders to me actually.  Based on his story and what you see of him in the game I think he is very interesting and I dont see the hypocrisy in him.  He flip flops yes because I see him torn between two things he feels its his DUTY to go for and they are unfortunately not quite compatible.

That said I do think that a good tumble would do him a great of good.
