I think I'll still have to yell at Anders for a while, on principle, but I don't think my heart will be in it anymore.

*giggles* Oh, you're not the only one. The more playthroughs I do, the more I get that way. Last time I was like THAT'S WHAT YOU GET! Since I tried to warn pretty much everyone. This time I'm telling everyone they're being an ass and they need to do something (aggressive Hawke is starting to feel so natural in act 3, o.O)... and I will be like "HAHAHAHA, that's what you get for letting the Qunari mess go on until Petrice ****ed everything up and we ended with no viscount and you STILL would not listen. I guess your maker doesn't care much for you since he doesn't give you enough common sense to save yourself."
This totally reminds me of all the times Seb is telling Fenris that the maker helped him, LOLz. So where's the maker in all this? Why he allowed Anders to do this, hmmm? Since he helps his flock and all that. I guess even the maker is disappoint with Elthina?
Yes, I'm evil. This aggressive Hawkette business is rubbing off on me.
I think Hawkette will be might pissed by the end that she didn't get to blow it up. She really is a very very bad mage.
When Seb is doing his whole, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Elthina" thing, I laugh the whole time now.
Between that and all his talk of MARDAR I will never take him seriously.
You two are evil, but I like it and must join in.
I seriously cannot take that man seriously... what, you couldn't even revenge your own family on your own but now you're going to come back with an army against me?
I think the Arishok would not find Seb worthy to fight me. Not at all.
"This is what respect looks like. Some of you may never get it."
BOOYAH.

Well.. to be fair, it's actually quite funny if your Warden WAS Dalish.

This thread is so evil. I have yet to get to the end with any of my new Hawkes or my canon replay but I fully expect to end up laughing at some dreadfully inappropriate time. Instead of the gut punch I got the first time, I'll keep looking at Anders and thinking of him saying, "I accidentally... the WHOLE CHANTRY!" And Jenga. And Seb's face.
I think I'll still have to yell at Anders for a while, on principle, but I don't think my heart will be in it anymore.
This thread made my DA2 experience so much better.
I have little thoughts in my head of Hawkette dragging Anders to some ball she got invited to, and introducing him as 'the Prettiest Hobo in Kirkwall'.
And her discovering his shrine to her.
Hawke: What's behind this door?
Anders: NO DON'T OPEN-
Hawke: *opens door*
Anders: ...it.
Hawke: So that's where my underwear keeps going!

She really said that?! What a load of ****. Even if not a Mage, horrible and tragic events lead up to the rise of the Hero of Ferelden, not to mention that he/she had to take part of an ungodly blood ritual in order to fight and kill the Archdemon. The Maker had nothing to do with it aaaaugh ELTHINA I LIKE YOU LESS ALL THE TIME.
@Equila: He said that on my Cousie import, too, so don't worry. He was talking about Velanna.
She does indeed; I saw her standing in the Chantry during act 1 and thought 'OH HAI LETS BE FRENDZ'.
Then she went all 'the Maker saved us! PRAISE THE MAKER'. Needless to say, I didn't want to be friends anymore ><
If I had Seb, I'd drag him along every time I spoke to her, just so he could see my opinion p:
Gosh. I wish I would have felt like talking to her then. I woulda raged something fierce.

Seriously. It has also made even more songs remind me of Anders. Like, Radiohead's Creep, just cuz Anders is now totally a creeper.

The whole mages-templars dynamic can be amazingly interesting, even romantic, theoretically. If the templars could exist as a separate entity from the Chantry - something like grey wardens who keep an eye on both the mages and the Chantry and only interfere when there is actual need. Maybe that could be their whole purpose - to serve as peacekeepers who never interfere with any politics supporting one side or the other but sort of work to maintain a just relationship between the two.
Also I would not mind the whole Chantry thing at all if they were all peaceful and loving people. But there is just too much bull**** in their chants for my liking.
I think this is a fabulous idea. I would also add that I think they should take mages among their ranks. I think you need both mages and non-mages to ensure that neither side starts taking too much control again. Just mages regulating themselves--you might get another Tevinter. Just Templars, and you run the risk of another Circle.
Yes! Definitely! You are completely right. In fact, they should form a totally separate body of authority made of templars AND mages - they can work in pairs of a mage and a templar and you will get all those great friendships or romances even this way. They are there to serve as both watchmen and guardians for each other. And they will keep the peace between the Chantry and the Circles.
On a totally separate note, I have to admit when Anders blew up the chantry the first time I reacted all cowardly: I FREAKED OUT. I thought he was a demented evil person and that broke my heart and the whole darkness of the story just really depressed me. But then I THOUGHT about it, and yeah, obviously reached the same conclusion as most people here - I can pretend to be all pro-peace and anti-violence but in that prticular situation that was the worst thing to do - pretending things are okay and ignoring all the injustice. So now that I am fully into the mage revolution I have these fantasies of my Hawkette leading an army of mages against The Chantry. I will create an elite part of my mage army who will all be spirit warriors - with spirits of Justice and Valor and Compassion in them - all glowy eyed and gorgeous! Muahahahaha!

Speaking of the Chantry, when I first did Anders's 'Justice' quest and talked to Elthina, I honesty thought she said, "I hope you find a bomb threat in this place," to Anders. I was like, "Bomb threat? What? Oh! Balm for it! Okay."
Little did I know...
Goddamnit, Anders.
Man, there were so many bomb references in that quest it wasn't even funny. The "balm," Anders saying "boom," when talking about separating himself from Justice, the fertilizer (which is a common ingredient in bomb materials)... Yeah Anders, good job at being subtle, I'M ON TO YOU BUDDY.
SIGH. Why can't I quit you. I've said this about 3423423424 times in the last few days.

True, true. My Dalish Warden romanced Alistair and picked up some of his humour along the way. I like to think she and Anders had some playful banter BFF thing going on. That and the fact that she was a little bit crazy . . .Sialater wrote...

We have all agreed that no matter what, Anders has a thing for Hawke. Along with the 'I ached for you for three years' line, it's obvious that he's got a very odd obsession.
Hence- Hawke Shrine.
He goes about stealing Hawke's underwear.

I'm trying to Rivalmance Fenris. But Anna's ending up in a friendmance with Fenris. And I can't stop her because, well, it's Anna and total hardass is what she is. I may have to let her friendmance him, and use her for the experimental Anders rivalmance, because I don't see Margaret being capable of that. And then, use Margaret for the rivalmance for Fenris, which she almost had. And then, decide which is the canon game for each Hawke. And then replay those. Because, well.. more time with Anders.
