I have no idea what is going on in this pic but drawing them doing cute gay stuff is helping me de-stress :|

Also Farron is totally lying, he's a big ginger tabby named Ser Puts-Up-With-A-Lot.

Anders is a tall skinny dude in my head canon.

@Ryzaki I think making him tranquil would make him even MORE of a martyr to mages, since they fear being made tranquil over being killed. "He did this terrible thing, and the Chantry didn't even have the decency to kill him for his crime the way they would a non-mage. Instead they added insult to injury and made him forget all he was."

You know, whatever, the other mages...

Everytime I even try to imagine it, my mage warden comes to mind and how she would TORTURE ME TIL THE END OF DAYS if I did something like that.
And I think she'd consider torture too nice for me.
Or for Hawke.

My warden is a really strong character.  She has a life of her own :P.
I can't believe they hijacked the warden like that and made her disappear.  There better be a good reason, Bioware, there better be!
And since when would my warden let Alistair go on missions by himself? After the Awakening business, she'd never leave Alistair's side ever ever ever again.

It's all a mess.  I'm just going to assume Flemeth kidnapped the warden and Hawke by the end.  Cause she's into that. ^_^

Makes it a lot easier for the Chantry to parade him about and cow people into submission, though (especially considering it's something many mages fear more than death). Corpses go bad too fast for that.

If he wants to kill a large amount of people go ahead. But don't try to blackmail my Hawke into helping him.

He makes me feel so conflicted. At times I just want to tranquil him (sadly I can't because of Justice) and others I want to give him a hug.

Gah. Why don't you just kill him? Why would you want to do the one thing he fears most?

Because I'm the player and it's funny.

God damn Fereldans and their dog fetish.

A proper pet ignores you until it wants something, then it jumps on your back and hangs by its claws.

EDIT: And to be more constructively useful, I like the motion in Farron's stance and the very-familiar profile of Ander's face. Just, so you know.

Ah, disregard that, I suck ****s.

*melts* Is it shameless of me that I think one man is great, but two men kissing are even greater?

So. Completely off topic for the current conversation, but anything to divert another Friendship/Rivalry discussion, right?

Something I was thinking about was one of the banters that Aveline and Anders shared:
Anders: Your husband agrees with me.Aveline: About what?Anders: He thinks the knight-commander's mad. He told me she's gone behind your back to investigate guardsmen she suspects as secret mages.Aveline: Even if that were true, he wouldn't tell you.Anders: He won't fight for her when the time comes. Would you turn against your own husband?Aveline: I don't know if you're lying or crazy.

Don't jump down my throat here, fellow Fanders, but... what if we found out that Anders was, indeed, lying? Or if his paranoia was worse than we've given him credit for?

His year in solitary, his story of the possessed cat, his belief that Alrik was a sexual sadist, his claims of being part of the mage underground: what if they were all either lies or delusions? What if we found out that he lied about his past just like Emile de Launcet in order to gain attention and infamy that was undeserved? Or that he actually believes the things he says due to grandiose or persecutory delusions?

What other things could he theoretically be lying about? If we start from the idea that nothing he says can be trusted without secondary confirmation, how does that change the character?

I thought about that, but Fenris and Donnic hang out on a weekly basis and Aveline has no idea until he tells her. So I think it's entirely possible that Donnic has talked to Anders, too.

But we know the Mage Underground is real, because there's a Codex entry and you help them. We know that Alrik was a sexual sadist because we see him tell Ella that she'll do whatever he wants as a Tranquil.

I do think he's paranoid, but I don't think he lies except for when he tells you about the potion. Mostly because he's a terrible liar then. "My love", my ass.

Anders is a very terrible liar. I just asked one question and he answered in a way that CLEARLY states he's up to no good.
And then he tells my blood mage who wants dead templars (they share dreams apparently) that he will not disappoint. OH MY Anders, whatever do you mean!

LOL

@Threeparts I also think it's highly possible Anders is exaggerating there. Donnic may well have said something innocuous like "Oh, yeah, the circle's not so hot," and Anders has taken that to mean he'll FIGHT TO THE DEATH FOR MAGE FREEDOM, because he's a bit like that by Act III. Poor Anders.

Somany tears. And the GAME FORCES YOU TO PULL THE GODDAMN TRIGGER!

*flails and blubbers* That scene just ripped my little heart out.

I was hoping knife in the back felt the same. It didn't. <_<

To be fair, Alrik could have meant chores.

In an apron..

With nothing underneath...

He's an otaku.

Anders is one depressing fellow but I don't know if he comes close to that :(

The Mage Underground is real, sure, but what if Anders lied about his involvement, claiming he knew, saw and did more than he ever had? And Alrik's words could be read in a completely innocent way as well, given how the mages are compliant and useful as Tranquil.

I'm not suggesting that he is lying or crazy as the reality, but exploring how it would change our views of the character if it were the case. Hypotheticals are yum. ^_^

The Boss didn't make me baww too much. MGS4 Raiden makes me bawww hardcore though. Its a fight to the death in my head between him and Anders for favorite Woobie of Ultimate Destruction. Though with Raiden it's Woobie of Ultimate Self Destruction and with Anders its... yeah. Not.
