I don't know what the hell... I mean, my blood mage lost her entire family by that point. I get that SHE wouldn't leave, what with her GRRR templars must die and mage freedom obsession... But why doesn't my blood mage Hawkette KILL Meredith? I don't see her having any sort of care for law or due process or power or politics.

Where was this?
I've given up trying to keep up. Every time I go to eat or get some homework done and come back, five pages have passed.
Page 430. You can thank me later.

It's hard not to railroad in a longer narrative like this, really. In DAO, you had plenty of choices, but none of them ultimately impacted much of anything. You still had your armies whether you sided with the mages or the templars, or the werewolves or the elves, or put Bhelen or Harrowmont on the throne. You never actually had to see the outcomes of those actions. And you wouldn't, had DAO been like DA2, because they wouldn't be able to give something like the Dalish Elf clan any sort of plot significance because you have the choice to completely wipe them out.DeaHamlet wrote...
DA:2 felt like I was playing D&D with a very strict dungeon master who is always going "You people are ruining my story!" whenever the players try and kill NPCs.
Cause you know, I would have killed a lot of the NPCs in this game if the developers had but let me! Some I eventually kill, some never get killed and some get killed by others. Like Petrice. Talk about stealing my thunder Qunari!
I love the game, I actually got attached to the characters (some of them), but really... railroading to the max. *sigh*
If DA2 were like DAO, you'd just have a quest to kill Petrice because she'd been "seeding sedition against the qunari". You'd either kill her or let her bribe you or whatever. And then we'd never see anything about the qunari and Seamus again because they can't build a huge plot point and then let you entirely circumvent the climax of the act.
Which way is better, I don't know. I didn't personally mind how DA2 handled it.

Aiyeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! *grabs more brain bleach* Actually, that reminds me of this caller I heard once on Loveline. I swear to God, it involved her dog and peanut butter and...yeah, you really don't want to know the rest of that.

I don't play Fallout, it's the boyfriend's game. He still hasn't finished because he must mull over as to which faction to support, least evil choice. He hates all the choices. It's been like 2 months or so now. I keep telling him to stop thinking so hard, lol.

Haaaaaaaa. So many funny faces.
T-trapezoidal? And right, the arms in the mage armor are freaking huuuuuuge. Hawke looks like he musta been taking magical steroids. He probably gets angry and his balls are tiny.
I saw my Hawke as roughly the same height as Anders. Carver was the shorter, bulkier brother. Built like a bear, that one.
Lol yeah but most of the time it was *blank stare*. Which was amusing but after a while it was just like.... please say something ;-;
Trapezoid shape uh.... basically take the in game body and make the hips wider? So it's not so V shaped as much as just slightly tapered from the shoulders. IDK it's a more attractive shape to me. I just picture an athletic body a smidge on the thinner side, but still strong. Just not super muscular. And yeah, he seriously needs to cover up that sleeveless arm or something. Looks like he's growing tumors or something. So disturbing, needs to stop hanging out with Chris Redfield.
I see Carver as really tall. Also, he has Popeye forearms.

Oh god yes. So many choices. I may need to go back and relive what it's like to have choices in a game. Seriously there are so many factions in that game. I suppose one could consider it tedious but I enjoy it. I just like siding with the raping, crucifying, slaving, pillaging Caeser's Legion just because I can. You guys think the Templars are bad. The Legion makes the Templars look like nuns.

I can't force myself to side with the Legion. Ceasar's blind trust just makes me headdesk so hard. "Why yes I'm gonna destroy the facility filled with useful robots!"
Yeah right.

My Warden always looked vaguely cross eyed. He was an adorable, redheaded scrawny elf with huge hands and possibly a lazy eye. God. So good. And they didn't just stare blankly. You forgot when they shifted their weight and crossed their arms.
Aaah. I think I get it. And jesus, yes, those arms.
I like the idea of Hawke being the reedy, tall brother and Carver being able to BREAK HIS FACE WITH HIS MEATY FISTS.
And then Hawke sets fire to him and Carver has to stop drop and roll. Good times.

We have Xbox360, mostly for boyfriend I just play stuff once in a while. We have PS3, mostly for my FF addictions and such. I have a tower PC that can play any game, he has a laptop that can play most games.
And if one of us plays on Xbox/PS3, the other watches and we comment and whatnots. It's actually awesome and we've never had issues of "omg, you're hogging the Xbox" lolz. Except all the DA:2 playing makes him give me poutyfaces cause he's being ignored
I think I want to play ME2 on PC now.

Only time we ever argued, is when he bought Fable 3. He managed to get brand new copies of both Fable 3 and Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition (a gift for me...he broke my last disc on accident) for like...50 bucks on Black Friday. he had his face in that game 24/7...that's when the arguments...began. lol

Hawke is addicted to crazy. It's worse than lyrium.Threeparts wrote...
I understand why we need to be funnelled along the narrative path, and I enjoy the changes the city and characters see over time, but I can't help but feel that Hawke is pounding on the walls, trying to find the escape hatch to get the hell out of Crazytown by the end of Act II. There are so many reasons to leave and so few to stay that, at that point, it does start to feel a bit forced.
