So a certain amount of "fakeness" is good to avoid being ostrasized. Which is a bad feeling for social animals like us. Mostly because we're so squishy when alone. Like solo mages.

Eh. I don't mind being alone. I rather have a few people around who can bare my oddness than in a crowd feeling like an alien. I tend to get annoyed when I'm around a crowd. That fakeness is probably why.

As for being squishy. Solo mages can pack a hella punch.  Spec them the right way (or if you have an AW) and no worries of squishiness at all. ^_^

Aveline made me feel so guilty I sold Wesley's shield my second run I leave it on her.

I was lucky enough to be a sentimental hoarder of any item any companion seemed to value at all so I just stuck her shield back on her for that conversation. Finally, my neuroses are being rewarded!

So she doesn't say it if she has her shield on?  I know someone who had the shield in the inventory and she still complained about selling the shield.

If it's in the inventory she'll say something about passing it around. I put it in the trunk and she still said I sold it.

If it's on her she'll say she has a good shield.

She still gets huffy and offended at you for even trying to give her a gift.

She says it if it's in the Estate storage, but not if it's in your bags or equipped.

Perhaps that feeling will pass?  It sounds very -- youngish?

Or that just might be because I've heard it from many people younger than me so I've got an opinion coloured by that. Personally, I like fitting in. It's a nice feeling. Sometimes, you work in a group and its harmonious and that's very nice.

Ah, well. See how bad we make fun of bad liars? Anders....

You get different stuff for having it equipped or in your inventory. You get the same dialogue for selling it or putting it in the chest.

While we're on Fenris, I'm finding it extremely frustrating how he can't seem to appreciate anything I give to him. The book? 'Eh, I can't read" that sword? "Eh, this is fake".

Needless to say, I threw my hands up and gave up on him.

I'm not keeping items for sentimental value. I can barely fit all the damn weapons for every eventuality (and with three mages, that's a lot of staffs and Aveline and Fenris have 4-5 alternative weapons in my inventory o.O) and my potions... I want to keep all my awesome accessories for after end-game but apparently leaving them in the container does not transfer them back to my mansion so I must have them in inventory. There is no room *weep*.

....I hate when people try to attribute everything to age. (Not that you are. It's just one of those sentiments that bug me.) "Oh you'll grow out of it". Maybe it is because I'm fairly young. But I see 40 year olds who haven't "grown out" of anything.

The average person my age enjoys fitting in from what I've seen. Will do pretty much everyting I've seen to fit in. Everyone doesn't want to blend. Some want to stand out, some want to be invisible, and others just want their little crew.

People are different is the only thing I can say to that. Some like being alone, some don't. *shrugs* Humans are social animals but even in social animals once in a while you get the loners. And thanks to modern day technology we no longer have to worry about being eaten.  Mostly.

Wooo. Sentimental hoarding.

I did the "no restrictions" mod partially so I could take Bethany's birchcore staff and use it for the ogre that killed her. D<

Friendmancing Fenris I offered to teach him how to read and he was super sweet about it.
He's very grumpy pants if he's a rival though.  Aveline is even worse grumpy pants as a rival.  She kept telling Hawke that Hawke doesn't trust her abilities as a guard captain.  WTF, I just stood up for you to Cullen and told Jeven to STFU and die.  I didn't let you talk, sure, but when did I seem like I doubt your abilities?
She confused me so much, I'm not trying that experiment again.  Though the fist fight was awesome!

I don't know that I've met any healthy person that has been comfortable being actually alone and for long periods of time, yes?

And it sounds young to me. Or, rather, adolescenty. Adolescense appears to have lengthened, I hear, so it's... difficult. It sounds young to me. But that might just be because that's what I heard a lot when I was younger.

And am still young. damn it! When do I get to be a grown up?

If you're Fenris' friend and tell him to keep the sword, he says he'll wear it ironically.

F**kin' hipster.

He truly is a hipster.  Please tell me someone has fanart of him telling Hawke she's probably never heard of his favorite bands.

Considering rivalry for Aveline seems to be a lot about letting her have control or not, I could see how the rivalry convos might be about you not trusting her abilities.

Stop lying to yourself. You just wish the sex scene actually showed him getting undressed and such!
What next? Anders strip-tease?

Okay...now... my mind... is goneeeeeee.

Unless you've met everyone in the world that's a rather odd statement to make.

I've been told that it's never a good thing to say what someone is comfortable doing or would be comfortable doing. Some people are crazy. Everyone isn't you or people you've met. And there are people who would be comfortable walking around naked. Sadly that is a crime in certain places.

And it sounds young to me. Or, rather, adolescenty. Adolescense appears to have lengthened, I hear, so it's... difficult. It sounds young to me. But that might just be because that's what I heard a lot when I was younger.

You're old because you're using words like adolescenty. :P Though I'm pretty sure that's ended for me some time ago. I have stopped growing the last 5 years. Think I hit my peak some time ago.

Though thanks for considering me adolescenty. I suppose I should cling to what youth I have left then?

@Ryzaki I don't know how old you are, but "honesty above all else" in relationships just plain hasn't worked for me, so I don't go near it now. You can lie to people, and they can be perfectly aware that you're lying to them, but the fact that you care enough to do it is what matters.

It's kind of how I see that last quest with Anders. My Hawke knows full well he's lying, he knows she knows he's lying, but as long as they don't acknowledge it they can continue to be happy for a time. When all hell breaks loose, that's when they can yell at each other about it.
