He does, but it's in an inspirational speech kind of way.  I think his exact words are "We will fight for a world where our children can be born mages and free."  So he could be referring to his own physical children, but after I got over my fangirl squealing, I figured he was just being poetic.

I immediately got ideas for fanfic where Hawke discovers she's pregnant while they're on Isabela's ship (because she did offer to let them join her crew, lol) and mistaking morning sickness for sea sickness.  Mostly because I think Isabela would be hilariously crude and unintentionally insensitive about it:

I hope he was talking about both real and symbollic children. I like the children I planned out... especially Justice's next host. xD If all of my Hawkes and Wardens could be together in the end, I think the scene would go something like this -

Evil blood mage Warden (Kane): I thought Warden's couldn't have children unless there was a ritual involved?
FemHawke (Kaya): I don't think a ritual was involved, but there was a bit of... glowing.
Kane: Glowing, eh? Could be a ritual. Or Justice did something. I wonder if your child will have a blue glow.
Anders: *blunt* Justice wanted to participate.
Kane: Oh. Oh. I... think I've heard enough. >///>
Kane's cousin: So who was better, Anders or Justice?
Anders: *looks at Kaya* Yes, who?
Kane: I SAID I'VE HEARD ENOUGH!

LOL! Anders true plan is to have kittens rule the world ;)

Anders: We'll build a world, where our kitten overlords can--
Hawke: I'm sorry, what?
Anders: Um. "mages".  I meant mages.  Not cat overlords.  ::nervous laugh::  How ridiculous!
Meanwhile, watching from a Palantir in Mordor:
Ser Pounce-a-Lot: Yes, good, my faithful minion. ::pets human sitting in his lap::

Eek. I'm not letting Justice into any of the kids, if they have them. No, Justice is getting a firm, polite "thanks for saving Anders' life those many times and making him kick arse in battle while we were in Kirkwall, but you're going back to the fade buddy, where you can't be infected with zealotry."

Possibly nicer put than that, but there's definitely going to be some separating happening.

He says something about kids? Is that if you romance him as LadyHawke? Egh...

I much prefer the gay Anders experience. You get the most brainmeltingly sweet little speech about his outlook on sexuality, I find Karl-as-lover to be much more tragic (even if it makes the flirt line immediately afterwards super strange), and his line at the end seems romantic in the idealistic sense and not the romantic couple sense, which I thought fit better given that he was prepared to sacrifice everything for justice... which is in and of itself kind of a flowery fluffy romantic concept. Unless it is the spiritual embodiment thereof, of course.

Even if he's not talking about children of his own... I just like the other line better :B Waxing poetic about a far-off impossible future he'll never see (as if things will cool down in his lifetime) where everything is made of kittens seems to make more sense given the ridiculous destruction he caused in the short term.

Correct me if I'm wrong since it's been about a week since I finished the game, but I think he says the same thing about children to my m!Hawke. So, either it's more a blanket term or Justice/Vengeance defies basic biology. /D8

He doesn't. See

My FemHawke definitely wouldn't approve. She loves Justice the same way she loves Anders... and that would really creep her out. xD But she's trapped in a dungeon with the Warden and Maric, so she has no say in this. Lucky for Malcom (her kid), he knew the dangers ahead of time and doesn't have as much anger as his father to actually corrupt Justice again.

Hm, yeah. I baww'd when he talked about helping build a world where people like Hawke can love people like him without behing torn apart by the templars. It hearkened back to how he spoke of mages not falling in love because it gave the templars leverage against them if they did. If I had been playing female Hawke and he had brought up children I would have immediately gone  and said "You're on your own there, buddy. You can have a kitten if you want, though."

Then again, I do like how this game actually does take your Hawke's sex into consideration and gives you (subjectively) romantic lines for both without diminishing the impact of the other. I don't have to deal with Zevran and the "woman" he loved all over again, lol.

(inb4 Miri comments on me hating kids, lol :P)

Wow, so he IS keen to have kids with fem!Hawke! Oh Anders, you big woobie, I love you so!

That said, the gay romance does seem really lovely. I'm going to load a male warrior for that next I think. I was pretty peeved that we didn't get the Karl conversation, although I can see why they've done that - to make the LI's gay or straight dependent on your Hawke's sex is actually a good way of stepping over the "everyone is bi" thing. Although why people were worrying about realism in the game's sexuality over.. oh I don't know, dragons and stuff was a bit beyond me.

Oh, man. I find Sebastian kind of meh, but I did his final Questioning Beliefs quest right before I started the endgame, and the conversation led to poor Hawke flailing about Kirkwall on her own for awhile, a little shaken and totally heartbroken.

The gist of it was that Anders was dangerous, and no matter what he promised he'd always put his own needs and emotions first. And at that point, when she was just trying to keep everyone alive and not think too hard about the Justice potion lie and the "If you don't help me do this totally shady thing, then it invalidates 6 years of being completely kickass and supportive. And, if you do support this totally shady thing, I'll be kinda creepy and wear symbolic clothing and make cryptic remarks all the time."

But then she did start to think about it and realized he was absolutely right. Then she went home, got drunk and the next day **** Happened. On the plus side, she did get her sister back.

Bethany: ...so it was mostly fighting darkspawn and being outfitted in really cool uniforms. And maybe some Events of Earthshattering Significance. We'll see. What about you?
Hawke: Well, my boyfriend just blew up the Chantry and there is probably an Exalted March being ordered on us as we speak. Maybe two or three. Apiece.
Bethany: I always thought you two would make a nice couple. Carver would hate him, but I think he's nice. Men who love cats are always nice.
Hawke: *hugs Bethany the tightest*

And my ending was hilariously glitched, because I'm pretty sure that Varric said Fenris', Anders' and Isabela's name at the same time. That would be such a sexy, ****y foursome. I kinda want to keep it.

Oh Varric, didn't Cass already tell you to quit exaggerating?

I suspect someone would not make it out of such an... encounter... alive.

I will admit that I love the "children" line for Lady Hawke because I am a squealy fangirl (...who doesn't like kids IRL, but Babies Ever After is my weakness in fiction for some reason).  I am sad that Lady Hawke doesn't get the Karl conversation, because it portrayed such a sweet picture of Anders.  But I do think it's extremely awesome that each gender gets different dialogue.  I never romanced Zevran as a male, but that would have royally annoyed me.

Especially since I imagine them all leaving on Isabela's ship. Hawke and Isabela would so be taking bets on how long before Fenris and Anders finally had it out on the table. Hair pulling optional, glowing utterly mandatory.

The conversation about Karl is really touching. I guess since they're going the subjective sexuality route they wouldn't include it for a female Hawke, but it's really tragic. When I saw the scene in the gum people video with femHawke I was like "Man, this is so sad." but after I learned Karl had been Anders' lover I actually cried when  the scene played out in my game, listening to his voice, watching his expressions... It adds to the drama and sadness of that moment for me, you see it differently when he's killing a former lover to a friend.

Also, I want your glitch, Surely. Best foursome.

The subjective sexuality thing can be a bit jarring if your playing a straight male Hawke since there's one conversation where three of the response are flirts, and ones an outright rejection no real middle ground

So that's why I didn't hear that part. I just assumed it would be in a later conversation or something. xD

There's a bunch of lonely people in Kirkwall and the new guy is just irresistable.

@Surely That convo with Sebastian made me want to hit him sooo much. Because I RP'd that my mage was completely and totally aware of what Anders was doing (seriously, he drops so many hints that you'd have to be a bit dim to not know he what he was planning) but didn't confront him because she agreed with him.

I mean "selfish?" - that's just... I don't even... he's doing the exact OPPOSITE of being selfish, unless you subscribe to the idea that he wants to be a martyr for his own glory and doesn't give a fig about the plight of the mages. If he was selfish he would have stuffed the cause and run off with Hawke in Act 2.

In all, I really, REALLY didn't like Sebastian in that final Act. I kind of was all right with him in the second, but in the third I just wanted to punch his self righteous arse off a cliff somewhere.

Well, one could argue that he is being selfish when he asks Hawke to help him and is willing to claim that she despises him and the cause if she says no, when all she wants is to know. I think Sebastian is arguing from the perspective of someone who has been observing Hawke's life and if Merrill has noticed that Anders hurt Hawke by blackmailing her, then surely others have, too.

It's emotional blackmail. If you refuse to distract the Grand Cleric because he won't tell you why, he rails on about how you can't say you love him if you despise his cause, because that's all he is. When you do accept, you can tell him you'll do it but you won't forget how he blackmailed you into it. I wouldn't use that word, but the moment I found out about how everything went down, that's all I could think of. He tricks Hawke into helping with the first part, and then he railroards her into the last thing. It's pretty manipulative and my Hawke thought it was patently unfair considering how much she'd done up until that point. She just wanted an explanation and she found out how quickly he could turn on her the moment he thought she wasn't with him 100%.

Not his best moment, tbh.

Are you guys referring to a Anders-specific conversation Hawke has with Sebastian/Merril? If so, I missed it :( People only talked about my relationship with Fenris when I romanced him. Anders was never mentioned by anyone but Varric.
