So, if Anders wasn't 100% Hot for Hawke, are there any companions or NPCs you could imagine him hooking up with?

I'm not the only one imagining him seducing Thrask, right? For the good of the cause?

I've heard a lot of people pairing Anders with Bethany.  Personally I don't see it at all.

Their vibe is really familial, I think. My Hawke would have tried to ship them anyway, though, if only because she figures that an apostate is way less likely to screw her sister over, templar-wise.

Uh...screenshot. I really like his expression after the kiss. He's all happy about having kissed Hawke but still intent on Andersing it up with his "We're going down in flaaaaaaames!" talk.

I was bracing to ship them before the game dropped but the sibs ended up being younger than I expected and Anders ended up being older than I expected/thought he was in DAO:A, and crazy, so obvs I wanted that for myself I mean Hawke it wouldn't have worked.

And it seems to me the answer to this question is Zevran.

It's always Zevran.

I like Anders/Bethany in theory, but if she stuck around for all the game my Hawke would be right there post-Dissent demanding that he never go near her sister her again.
This, of course, being the same Hawke that in my canon leapt at the chance to bed him mere days after he nearly killed Ella, the little hypocrite.

Zevran/everyone.

It's canon.

I kinda miss him. Enough to make me entertain the thought of replaying Origins. >_>

Yeah, the Ella thing would have thrown her for a loop were Beth still around.

And I love that he spends three years warning Hawke away because he's a monster!, but you can pretty much nail him within 24 hours of him killing/almost killing an innocent mage girl. I guess he figures that if Hawke still wants to be around after all that, then s/he's legit crazy-proof, but it still cracks me up.

Hawke is the real predator here. Taking advantage of his emotional state, how scandalous.

Alright folks. I actually got my pencil out tonight and sketched for the first time on paper in over a year. It's not perfect, but at least I'm drawing again :)

I'm going to sue BioWare for sexual harrassment.

I'm pretty sure him being emotional just makes him more receptive, given how he's already hitting on Hawke the morning after his last lover was made Tranquil and then killed. :?

I like to imagine that more time went by than that.  After all, Act 2 is supposed to take place over an entire year, right?  We just have to pretend that time is passing.  I imagine that Anders and Hawke didn't start doing the nasty until at least a month after Ella, but maybe that's just me.

I force Merrill's personal quest between the end of Dissent and initiating the kiss. The first time it happened immediately after he was so distraught and...no. Not even a little part of me was ok with that.

But, theoretically, Anders self-medicates with sweet, sweet Hawke love.

@MorningBird I hate you so much, because I have listened to Always about a million times in a row since you linked to it.

I know it wouldn't really work given how flexible the quests can be, but I'd really love an in-game calendar, or even seasonal changes that are triggered at certain points of the main story, just to give us an idea of how much time is passing.
I mentally try to say that Hawke is basically completing one quest a week to spread things out, but it's still amusing that you can be comforting an awfully distraught Anders one moment, and getting passionate smooches and declarations of affection the next, and 24 hours later he's moved in and leaving his socks everywhere.

I swear to the Maker Bethany gave me five rivalry points for taking the first flirt line with Anders. I was like OH NO SWEETIE, no. No.

I think she has, like, a teenaged-girl crush on him? But he's totally oblivious to it. I mean, he likes her, in a big-brotherly way. He's openly jealous of the Hawkes for their close-knit apostate family and he really wants to marry into it. But it's not little Bethany he's lying awake aching for.

Well, I'd like to believe that Isabela and Anders could hook up (totally wrote that as Hawke up btw) for old time's sake and as a cute little nod to the Awakenings epilogue.

See...I'm wondering about the whoel Anders hitting on you first thing, namly becuase of all the homophobes out there who are "Oh Nos! A Pixelated guy hit on meeeeeeeeee !!!! Bioware...you are eeeeeevillllll"

It's something I don't recall happening in either of my two f!hawke playthroughs......so I watched last night while my hubby played his m!hawke rogue....nope, HE had to pick the heart icon to initiate any flirting.

So where does Anders (other than the non-flirted with rival-Anders face glomp I had) flirt with someone without you initiating it first?

When he's explaining about Justice after Karl's been taken care of and worrying about how Hawke will take it, there's a diplomatic option (at least, for friendship female Hawkes) where she responds, "We can't always predict the outcome of our actions, we can only make them with a true heart," And he responds with, "Kind, wise and beautiful. You must have made a deal with some demons yourself."

If you pick the diplomatic options in the conversation with him right after his Act I quest, he'll call you "scruffy" and then apologize. Positively lecherous.

I waited for a long, long time between the end of Dissent and Questioning Beliefs, because I was saving all the QB conversations for one big lump.  I figure for about a few weeks, my Hawke was consistently with Anders in a supportive sense, and that emotional intimacy was what got him to start making out with her
