Oh my goodness, all I could picture was Anders forcing Justice to take control and saying something along the lines of "Take one for the team" Because Justice wants nothing to do with it and Hawke is likewhy couldn't he just have a spirit in him and not taint too?!
But if Justice didn't want to participate, she wouldn't make him. She would just be sad if they could never have children. Who knows, maybe if Anders calms down in later years, since Justice did accomplish the most important part of his mission already, he'll start to be a little more like Awakenings Justice and curious about love again.
I think we all want some of old Anders back. even though I did like that he wasn't Alistair 2.0, but did they have to go so far?
You basically are seeing what was already under the surface from Awakening in DAII. It's just decided to come to the surface after Justice merging and the fun times that ensued after that.

You so silly. Happy endings are only for sketch massauge parlors.
What?
Massage. I like to add random vowels. And sketch is... probably Californian slang for someone or something that is of dubious quality or character.

Gah miss typed in my earlier comment. I didn't mind Anders all that much, but I didn't like the fact he felt like an Alistair replacement for all his fangirls, it grated on me, and I wanted to kill Velanna. I was also sad panda to not get any of my old companions. What I was trying to say (and failed) was I liked that they rebooted him and he wasn't Alistar 2.0 but his own character, but sometimes I feel they changed him so much that he felt like a new person all together and not someone returning. But I also got to admit, his tragic and broken self makes me swoon.

There was something nasty under Anders from the beginning. Or maybe just the idea of a year in solitary weighs heavy on my idea of the character. I mean, I got the feeling that he was seeing the cat as way more human than the Templars which is... not a healthy thought process. There was always something severely wrong about Anders. He just used to avoid it.

And as long as Anders doesn't get killed off before his calling, I think he can have a happy ending for a good 20 years... if your idea of a happy ending is fighting templars, helping mages escape, leading the revolution and that sort of thing. And in my opinion, that is a happy ending. I like crazy characters with near-impossible missions.
I wonder if Bethany knows it was Hawke who killed him. It would be nice if the rumors reached her in the Circle. At least she'll feel a little more safe now.Ryzaki wrote...
Yeah she mentions some of the templars abuses and how she's avoiding them. I believe she mentions Alrik by name. I have to check to make sure though.
And yeah Vengeance don't got nothin' on big bro Hawke. I have to GW her if I'm gonna side with the templars. (Or play a mage).
I think my Anders rivalmance Hawke will have Bethany in the Circle. She needs more reasons to side with the mages in the end. Her story will be such a sad one.

Ah yeah I kind of got that too.
Though I don't feel like he's a complete reboot and yes his tragic self makes me swoon too.
As for treating his cat as more human than the templars. I can't blame him. It might make me a bit odd but I can hear about people dying in a fire and not give a hoot. My cat on the other hand...
Especially if said people were my jailers.

Yeah. That tranquil woman in the gallows.
And yeah I use that excuse on my rivalmancers too. My Hawke's a douche but no one is gonna touch his little sis.

You know now that you mention it, I think you are right, he really did see the cat more as a human then the templar's. Sometimes I wonder if Anders wasn't as lucky with them as he claims I swear or if he was close to those who weren't(outside of Karl)

And it seems like most templars in Kirkwall are the same way, with only a few exceptions. o_o My Kane Amell has a lot of resentment towards the templars and the Chantry, but if he heard about this, he'd be glad he's in the Ferelden Circle. Even though he's such a lazy guy, he would have to do something about it if that was going on in his "home."Ryzaki wrote...

My rivalmance Hawke will be a templar who wants the system to be changed. Unfortunately, her relationship with Anders won't work out after he blows up the Chantry. I'll get to see all the heartbreaking dialogue in her playthrough.

And now I just had a horrible thought, which doesn't apply to Kaya, but would to some Hawkes. Bethany could be in that Circle. If Hawke and Anders didn't do something, she could have one of the victims.
Knowing that Ser Alrik was going to show up later, Bethany's letter was chilling. There's a creepy templar named Alrik, but she's staying out his way and thinks she'll be fine? My initial reaction was along the lines of "Oh ****. Nononono. ANDERS, GIVE ME DISSENT NOW."
As soon as Anders mentioned that he was worried too AND had a way in to get at said templar, my aggressive/blunt berserker Hawke snapped and decided that she and Justice/Anders were going Templar-pruning. Vengeance rage ensued.
...Not the healthiest couple, perhaps. But effective!

I dunno. I think everyone in Kirkwall is pretty bat****. That's a horrible place. My Amell has little resentment but he was always a favored mage. (And a collosal jerk***) If he heard about that he'd rip some templars heads off.
Aw.
Let's hope the bugs for the rivalmance get fixed soon.

Pfft, who uses mages? Not me! After my first two playthroughs, I went "I bet I can play with NO MAGE AT ALL. On HARD." And I could! That advanced to "I bet I can play with NO MAGE AT ALL. On NIGHTMARE." And I could! Good times. And a lot of healing poltices. And occassionally making Shale do that weird support mode she had.
Velanna was craaaaaaazy, though. She made my Dalish wardens despair. "You ... yeah, you're not helping."
I wasn't a huge fan of Awakenings Anders either, mostly because I sort of hated when people accused him of being New Alistair, because I really didn't see them having much in common aside from being blonde and using humor as a coping mechanism.
And while I'm on the subject, Oghren gets such a raw deal from people. He's deeper than people give him credit for. I think he might actually be the most depressing DA:O character. His Fade dream made me all sad.

I gave Kane Amell a tragic past. Poor thing. But it's really saying something that the Grand Cleric does nothing to stop what's happening, when a guy who allowed a demon to take a child's soul in exchange for blood magic thinks it's morally wrong. xDRyzaki wrote...

The rivalmance is definitely glitched? That's too bad. I wouldn't be able to download a patch if they made one. ): Oh well, I guess I'll wait for the future DA2 Ultimate Edition. Maybe they'll fix the strange import glitches too. (They called my female Warden "he." That just isn't right! It's still kind of funny though.)

As for Awakening Anders: don't think I miss him much. He lacked the profoundness DA2 Anders has. It's like his sole purpose was almost entirely comedic. I suppose one can argue that his humor was largely a defense mechanism, but honestly, I couldn't see much depth beyond the surface.

“You burned down the bloody barn, boy!”
Perched above his Father’s head, in a tree still cracked and burned from being too close to the last barn, he threw down a few minor fireballs. “So you called in the Templars! Andraste’s flaming knicker weasels…”
“You wash that mouth out! There’ll be no blaspheming in my household!”
“Well apparently I’m no longer in your bloody household!” he aimed a little closer just to emphasize the point.
“Look lad,” said the lead Templar, “it’s not so bad in the Circle. Free food, free entertainment-“
“Free manacles and a dress – what an offer!”
The Templar smoothed his moustache and sighed through clenched teeth. “Fine. Unless you’re the first mage to discover flight, it’s only a matter of time before you’ve got to come down.”
“I might turn myself into a bird and fly away!”
“And I might become King of Orlais. Both are about as likely.”
His Father scratched manically at his receding hairline. It was often said that this angry scrabbling was the reason he lost more hair every year. “Don’t you make this hard for us, boy! You Mother is already crying herself speechless.”
Since the magic manifested, she’d been at the ready with a thousand excuses, and a million cover-ups. As dear old Dad spent most of his time and coin in The Blessed Lady tavern, lying to him hadn’t been so hard. In fact, she has made it been downright exciting. Until the last barn accident they’d done well too, but Father had caught trying to put his fingers out by blowing on them.
“Don’t you do that! You brought in the tin-hats, not her!”
He flung a fireball directly at his Father. If the man hadn’t have dodged it would have set his clothes alight.
“You little-“
“Enough of this! Willem,” the mustachioed Templar turned to the other of his order, “the tree is frail, cut it down.”
The man dutifully pulled a broadsword from its sheath and began to swing at the trunk. The whole thing shuddered with every contact. Thwack. Thwack. Thwack. Soon it would give in and he’d plummet to the seared ground. It dawned that he could either go with the Templars unharmed, or be dragged away with a few broken bones.
“Fine! Fine…just let me see my Mother. Please. Before I go.”
The second his feet touched the floor the Templars were at his side. A tingle in his arms, and a sickness in his gut signaled magic’s departure. He’d heard Templars could do this, but the physicality of it turned his stomach inside out.
“Makers breath! I’m going to be ill.”
The Commander chuckled, “Buckle up, lad. You’ll have time to get used to it. Ferelden is many miles from here.”
Before his Father reached the door his Mother burst out of the house and scooped the boy up into an elf-crushing hug.
“Dear heart,” she sobbed, “I have something for you.”
He hadn’t noticed the small pillow she carried. Soft red stitching bordered a white cotton background. Sewn images of petals fell around the inner border, leaving a clear space on which to place his head.
“It’s not finished, but it’s all for you.” She looked up at the Templar Commander, eyes swollen, unruly blonde hair flicking in the wind. “Please Ser, may he keep it?”
He frowned, “Such things are not allowed, but if he behaves himself I will arrange it.”
Trying to smile, she nodded and placed the pillow in his hands. “There you go. You be good.”
Till then he’d been fantasizing a dozen escape scenarios. All of them left his head in an instant. “I will.”
He held the gift tight with both hands. Had anyone bothered to look closely they’d have seen his skin turn white.
“That’s it then,” his Father grabbed his Mother’s shoulders, “the brat is all yours, Ser Templar.”
