Seb's quest in arc two when he finds out his family was killed by friends, you walk in on one of the guys getting his mojo on and Anders responded in a way I thought my Hawke would of.  Or maybe he was thinking "Hawke doesn't to that" LOL

AWW I did that quest with him in the party and never got that expression.

But the non-mage friendship romance is--less selfish? You're supporting his cause because it's right, not just because you're fighting for your own interests. Plus, you get to have him save you from Idunna in the Blooming Rose, which is a nice scene, and you can also have him save Bethany in the Deep Roads. I can see from a roleplay perspective that a Hawke who was previously inclined just to tease might start feeling really serious about him after she saw him stick his neck out to save her sister.

Wow, couldn't disagree more. Romancing Anders has been extremely hard to me and my Hawke, because I don't think he's completely right. He think he is, but that doesn't mean Hawke thinks so too. She may support him and be mad as hell. Saying mage Hawke would be selfish to support Anders isn't true either, because no one can touch Hawke at that point, she's the Champion. However after the Big Bang she would probably think "oh crap, now he's done it, might as well support the mages now".

My warrior Hawke had selfish interests. They were, first, her romance with Anders, and second Bethany in the Gallows. Hell, she'd support the mages just for Beth. She'd kill everyone to protect her sis.

I really couldn't have said it better myself. That is pretty much how I have played my non-mage Hawkes, being as she was always more sypmpathetic to the mages considering two family members are mages, but try to hold out for compromise as long as possible. Though my mage characters tend to drop the middle ground sooner when it becomes clear to her that sides will have to be taken, for better or worse.

Though she wouldn't have said no to hopping a ship with Fenris and CO. and buying a nice little house in Highever. She'd buy Varric a bar, send Merril to Lanaya in the Korcari Wilds, stick Aveline with Sgt. Kylon making Denerim the safest city  in Thedas outside of Qunari Territories (smartest man and toughest women, luv it). Anders would get a fully stocked and staffed place of healing with a side classroom to teach young and on-the-run apostates, and Isabella would get a permanent room at the local brothel for whenever she is in town.

Oh, he definitely does.  He gives himself away during the Gamlen's Greatest Treasure quest when you find the note telling the mercenaries to capture Gamlen:

Anders: Kidnap Gamlen and bring him to these caves?  Sounds like the opening of a bad romance novel.

I like to picture the entire group giving him a long stare while Anders blushes and adds "Uhhh... so I've heard."

In my mind, Hawke already knows. Anders keeps the Kirkwall equivalent of Twilght and some other bodice rippers on the bedside table. He puts a copy of the manifesto on top, thinking it'll keep Hawke from looking, but Hawke's got a fantastic nose for finding those things you don't want him to.

Ololololol. Yeah, me, too. And then I only take Anders along to force his dialogue. They've secretely become that obnoxious mind meld couple. Anders, happily so. Hawke, running through the stages of grief.

Huh. In all my playthroughs he stays completely quiet. I always found it amusing in a "there's a man who knows when to keep his mouth shut" kind of way.

Fenris never said anything for me, so I think he is safe, Seb might be the best choice as well.

I get the kiss from Anders, then do most of Aveline's quest, going home to ~love scene~ after spending an awkward evening at the Hanged Man with Donnic. It amuses me because a) Aveline is like "What about you and Fenris?" (at which point Hawke is probably thinking that her decision to keep Aveline in the dark about the soap opera that is her love life might not have been the best one) and it adds to some of Hawke's delightfully annoyed frustration at the tavern if you imagine she's delaying her sweet, overdue mage loving in order to help Aveline.

And then, when she does the patrol the next day and facilitates that whole adorable Aveline/Donnic hook-up, it just adds to the whole mess of *squee* if they're both in the throes of new love (and the "Just kiss her already!" is fun for an Anders who so recently got laid AND a new place to live out of just kissing Hawke, already).
