It doesn't matter is Anders doesn't come with a cat. Everyone here has a cat anyway :P

I have five cats, but I've been away from home for seven months... if I don't see them soon I'm gonna start glowing and blowing **** up :crying: I miss those guys.

Anders doesn't like it whent the cats are gone.

I have the best image of you running around your house going ape****! For kittehs! And Caligula will never let you leave again. Ever. You will have to rename him Anders for his creepy obsessive devotion.

Actually, you're not that far off about Caligula. He apparently sits at the door of my room, meowing. Even though no one is inside, he'll just sit, meowing and waiting for me to open the door. When he wants food he goes to the kitchen and swats at people until he's fed, but apparently he spends time just pining and meowing in front of my door... *SOBS*

ANDERS UNDERSTANDS MY PAIN
~snip~

Aww thats so cute/sad.  My cat has to sleep in the bed with me, she thinks I am her kitten.  So when I am gone my roomate said she sits in the bed and meows like someone killed her littler, not even Odin can cheer her up :(

At least your cats like you... I am seriously beginning to think that mine hates me for some reason Image IPB
And yes, I do feed him

Hey, what's Anders' rivalry dialogue when you give him the Tevinter Chantry Amulet?

No difference.

Nope.  I wonder if that's another bug?  I know Fenris's gift conversations differ DRASTICALLY in rivalry vs. friendship.  It makes sense that Anders's would, too.  I know the key you give him in Act 3 differs a bit in rivalry.

Fenris Friendship: "Thank you for the sword. I'll think of the irony as I wield it."
Fenris Rivalry: "**** YOU. **** YOUR SWORD. AND **** YOUR FAVORITE KIND OF PIE, IF YOU HAVE ONE. I DON'T WANT YOUR ****ING SWORD, AJPSODAJSSK.

When I gave him the tevinter amulet as a rival he said something among the lines of "is today some sort of holiday i'd forgotten about?" or something, which I'm pretty sure he didn't as friend.

AHH!  Adorable kitten is adorable

My boyfriend and I are thinking of getting a kitten after I graduate and move in with him.  KITTEHS.

Except she's four years old

And seriously, DO IT! There's nothing like boyfriends and cats. A big man talking to the little kitten. Fuzzbuckets <3

Except that my boyfriend loves funny cat videos, so he'd probably do things like put the poor cat in a box or on the treadmill just to see what it does :?

Nope that's the only thing that changes with rivalry. He's more surprised you got him a gift.

I do, too. It's a badass sword.
I also equip Aveline with the Shield of the Knight Herself, even if she rejects it. I mean, who else is going to use it?

My poor Hawke thought he was doing somethng nice for this jerk that he's kinda hatefriends with and probably ran home to cry into Anders' bare chest, in bed after Fenris was such a dick about it. Then he forced Fenris to use it anyway, trolol.

I just heard a colossal crash in the basement. I mean...colossal.
Followed by the sounds of jingling bells as my cats try to establish a hiding place.

Hahahahah I can quite imagine that scene.
Anders would LOVE it if Hawke cried into his chest about Fenris. More fodder for arguing later.

Still, you have to wonder what on earth Hawke was thinking when s/he decides it's a good idea to give people certain gifts.

Especially the sword. I already had Fenris at full 'D8<' capacity, and I distinctly remember thinking, "Oh, this is going to end horribly," right before I gave it to him.

And I thought Cullen was improved from DA:O where I completely hated him (elf mage Warden, yeah, she was not impressed with Cullen or the templars). He stands up to Meredith at the end, I thought that made him cool... but now I dunno. I need to have conversations in every act with him to see... maybe he just gets wiser or something. Maybe he's still a douchebag in act 2 but by act 3 he's come to his senses?

I get the impression he is different. I think he has healed some since the trauma he endured in Ferelden. He still has extreme (and wrong) views, but he does show restraint and even some compassion for mages. Even in the Ser Alrik conversation. Knight-Captain Cullen is not anything like Ser Alrik. Knight-Commander Meredith picked him as her second because he is so radical, but he's not the crazy froth at the mouth arghle barghle blarg sort that Meredith is. DA:O Cullen, right after the Uldred incident, wanted all the mages killed or jailed. Old Cullen would have surely supported the Right of Annulment for Kirkwall. He would have felt no pity for mages at all. He would not have spared mages who said they weren't involved. He would not let MageHawke walk away, after she supported the mages.  I see DA2 Cullen as a good man with some views that need serious adjusting.

Mentioned briefly on the last page, but Anders' staff-thumping denunciation makes me all tingly, every time. I really do love it when he gets all hot-headed and revolutionary, what can I say?

Because Hawke's an oddball.
"Here, Anders. This is an amulet that will get you killed if you're seen with it."
"Here, Fenris. This is a sword that reminds of your former master. You know, when you were a slave?"
"Here, Aveline. This is a shield so you can replace your dead husband's old shield."
"Here, Merrill. I got you these Dalish artifacts to remind you that your clan hates you."

Varric and Isabela's gifts are the only ones that make sense. Oh, and Seb's.

I knoooooow!  I love the sound it makes.

Anders can thwack his staff all day long as far as Hawke is concerned.  Or she can thwack his staff for him.  HEH.

Talking about how much Fenris sucks and how much of a mean poohead he is = relationship building exercises.

Just like Anders falls for Hawke no matter what, I think Hawke is a sadist(or insane) no matter what.

The thing is, when just discussing the sword itself the dialogue is the same as on the friend path, so he sounds kind of amused and interested in the sword. And then you're all, "well, you can have it if you want it," and he throws a fit. I can just imagine my Hawke backing away slowly, all D: from the frothing beast she's suddenly unleashed.
