We're in the cave with the apostates Thrask asked me to get. And Anders was like, "They're raising the bloody dead! Please tell me you're not sending these poor souls back to the Circle?"

UH YES I AM. Grace totally turns on me. Not to mention she's an effing blood mage. Sorry, compadre, but not even super-mage-friendly Hawke can turn her back on that.

The quest really gives me trouble. I can see where he's coming from: look how terrified they are of being sent back there, they're desperate enough to risk everything to prevent it. But then I'm all, necromancy? blood magic? You idiots, you're just going to make things even harder for yourself. I guess if they'd rather die than go back it makes sense, but that evidently wasn't the case with The Purple Crazypants Grace.

What really got me was Anders be all for killing Thrask(how ever you spell it) I mean he asked to come and help so they don't get killed by the ass hat templar on his way.  He mentions that before you go in and Anders is like "**** it kill him"  I wanted to slap the taste out of his mouth and be like "Think about what you just said long and hard, and don't talk until then"

If you're on the PC, you can cheat and give him rivalry through the console if you want to.

That is really weird because I only did half of those things and I maxed his rivalry by somewhere near the middle of Act 2.

Seriously. You get the friendship points from the noms and then no rivalry from turning him down. He took it quite well

Ugh, yes! Thrask is one of the few decent Templars the mages have on their side (and omg I love him so hard), killing a sane, mage-friendly Templar contact is incredibly dumb. I know Anders has his hate on for all the Templars, but after the little smile he shoots us for wanting to avoid a massacre, you'd think he'd get where Thrask is coming from.

She's been secretely giving him kittens.

BTW, you guys aren't very good detectives. When I posted that puppy pic, there were 3 pics of "Anders" playing with that puppy in that same album before I remembered and locked it down.

I honestly feel that is one of those, the writers forgot what they were doing moments, a few of the characters seem to have OOC moments or just go so extreme in their feelings after just saying or doing something that doesn't fit it, it leaves me often with a:huh: face.  Maybe it is just me, I know he hates templar's but that just seemed like a bit much even for him.

I have a lot of trouble sending Grace and the other apostates back to the Circle, especially since if you try, she pleads and begs wiht you not to.  And after Alrik and Meredith, Ser Kerras is the next on my templar s*** list.  What a horrible bastard, expressing GLEE that all the mages are going to be murdered in Act 3.  I like to pretend he was one of the piles of templars I gutted in the Gallows.

On another note, Orsino's staff is badass, and seeing Anders carrying it just adds to his attractiveness.

On a gameplay note, does Meredith drain all your mana before the final fight begins?  Or is this some interesting glitch I've found?  As soon as the fight started, Anders and my mage had zero mana.

I haven't gotten to there on my pro-templar run, so I've lied (or had Varric lie) for them each time so far. I can't actually kill Thrask, even hardcore pro-mage, he's too awesome.

Pretty sure it's meant to happen, what with Templars nullifying magic. And Meredith is the Templar to end all Templars. I'm surprised she doesn't open the fight by yanking their staves out of their hands, breaking them over her knee, and then kicking them in the nads for a 30 second stun.

I almost wanted to keep it for myself, but it has spirit damage and I have to give it to him because Anders has to have a staff that shoots out creepy blue spirit hands. Plus, it does look hella good and matches his black robes. Whatevz.

Now that I downloaded a scaling Staff of Parthalan, not an issue
