On another note, Orsino's staff is badass, and seeing Anders carrying it just adds to his attractiveness.

I almost wanted to keep it for myself, but it has spirit damage and I have to give it to him because Anders has to have staffs that shoot out creepy blue spirit hands. Plus, it does look hella good and matches his black robes. Whatevz.

Now that I downloaded a scaling Staff of Parthalan, not an issue :D

Wait you can get the first Enchanter' staff, or is this something special like with the SE edition and were do you get the scaling Staff of Parthalan?

When he dies at the end you can get it, whether or not you have the SE.

Yeah you don't even really have to be a dick or a super Templar supporter, just support the Circle and send all the mages back there and you'll get rivalry fast.

I have
-sent Grace & co back to the circle
-got Keran fired from the templars
-sent Ella back to the circle
-told Fenris mages should be locked up
-told Anders to shut it and almost got him leaving my party

He's at friendship, and it's Act 3.

Your Hawke must be secretly buttering him up or something. :P
It was achingly easy to get rivalry with Anders when I tried.

She's been secretely giving him kittens.

BTW, you guys aren't very good detectives. When I posted that puppy pic, there were 3 pics of "Anders" playing with that puppy in that same album before I remembered and locked it down.

She keeps giving him kittens and the refugees keep eating them :? Unless Anders has a secret stash somewhere.

Also, GODDAMNIT!

I actually had a suspicion all through Act 3 that I might be fighting Orsino eventually because that staff is just way too cool to be just an NPC weapon. Too bad you don't get to use it very long.

Ah Grace.
My canon romance with Anders = Grace goes free because Lorelei is that kind of an optimistic fool that sees the best in people and has blinders on for mages. Blinders!
My canon romance with Fenris = Grace is going to be the only one sent to the circle in this playthrough because Chani is not THAT dumb. You messed with blood magic and your boyfriend tried to kill me, my friends AND my boytoy. You just be happy I don't kill you.

Anders' speech when Grace kidnaps the sibling is pure gold if you spare Grace. I don't know if it's the same whether you lie or kill the templars, cause I only got the speech when I killed the templars. Or maybe I didn't have Anders with me the other times.
And I know Anders is gonna hate on Chani for sending Grace back, but when Grace kidnaps someone, he is going to be o.O maybe you're right. Either way = WIN.

My second playthrough I was a ****head to both Grace and Gascard (didn't even let him speak and just killed him) because I was still angry at their future involvement, lol. I let Gascard live in my 3rd just to give Fenris the pleasure of torturing and killing him and then I FORGOT to go to Darktown and do it. :( It was too late by the time I remembered, boo. So I got money from Gascard, the bastard!

I have a lot of trouble sending Grace and the other apostates back to the Circle, especially since if you try, she pleads and begs wiht you not to.  And after Alrik and Meredith, Ser Kerras is the next on my templar s*** list.  What a horrible bastard, expressing GLEE that all the mages are going to be murdered in Act 3.  I like to pretend he was one of the piles of templars I gutted in the Gallows.

I haven't gotten to there on my pro-templar run, so I've lied (or had Varric lie) for them each time so far. I can't actually kill Thrask, even hardcore pro-mage, he's too awesome.

You never kill him.  He always fights on your side, completely clueless.

What really got me was Anders be all for killing Thrask(how ever you spell it) I mean he asked to come and help so they don't get killed by the ass hat templar on his way.  He mentions that before you go in and Anders is like "**** it kill him"  I wanted to slap the taste out of his mouth and be like "Think about what you just said long and hard, and don't talk until then"

Ugh, yes! Thrask is one of the few decent Templars the mages have on their side (and omg I love him so hard), killing a sane, mage-friendly Templar contact is incredibly dumb. I know Anders has his hate on for all the Templars, but after the little smile he shoots us for wanting to avoid a massacre, you'd think he'd get where Thrask is coming from.

I honestly feel that is one of those, the writers forgot what they were doing moments, a few of the characters seem to have OOC moments or just go so extreme in their feelings after just saying or doing something that doesn't fit it, it leaves me often with a:huh: face.  Maybe it is just me, I know he hates templar's but that just seemed like a bit much even for him.

I think this *does* fit the new Anders.  Dude's not quite sane, got
serious monomania and zealotry.  In his more lucid moments, he admits as
much.  Vengeance is really messing with his head.  My good Hawks, even
mage friendly ones, yell at him for this.  My evil ones say "Do eeeeet!"
because they want him to snap and don't value anyone's life.  Thrask's end makes me so very sad.  My
good Hawks rip Grace into teeny bits and stomp on them, usually.

What upset me even more was Anders +5 for selling Fenris to Danarius (not that I did that myself).  That was just sickening.  I don't care that they're rivals and have diametrically opposed views on mage
freedom.  Anders would hate Danarius for being a blood mage and a
slaver, if he weren't so crazy pants.  But no!  Vengeance says you're either with us or against us, and if you're against us, you deserve whatever.  (Ella is another case in point.)  Vengeance sees no shades of gray at all and his IFF is quite broken.

You loot Orsino's staff after you kill his Harvester form.

Scaling Parthalan here, which I just saw has a lightning damage version too :D My mage doesn't use fire spells so having an electricity version makes me stupidly happy lol.

I plan to.  Spare Grace, snuggle Anders, get betrayed by Grace, rescue Anders from Grace, then see if he tries to somehow justify Grace's actions.  "The templars totally made her do it, I swear!  Oooooh, I hate them sooooo much!  What, you don't think so?  Distracting ninja kiss!"  Is that anything like what actually happens in that situation?

I never turned Fenris over, I didn't know that.  I have to agree with you there.  I think at times I forget Justice isn't Justice anymore, and that he is unknowingly or not is destroying Anders.

::sigh:: So I just finished my 6th playthrough, got the last of the achievements... now what do I do?  ::pout::  I don't want to import my Zevran-lovin' Brosca from Origins until I see if maybe the upcoming patch fixes any of the romance dialogue.

But I want more Anders!  Gah, this is just embarrassing.  For all its many problems, I just can't seem to put DA2 down.  It's weird, because I've generally reached the consensus that Origins was a better game overall, but I certainly didn't play Origins six times in a row with barely a breath between playthroughs.  It can't just be because I'm a fangirl... can it?  Surely not.  That is just too sad.

Let's be honest.  Anders hates Fenris with some fierce passion.  I also secretly think he sees Fenris as competition to Hawke :D.
I am also convinced that if Hawke gave Anders to the templars to take him to the circle, Fenris would totally give +1000000000000 friendship points.  He respects Hawke enough never to betray Anders and Merrill, but he'd totally high-five Hawke if Hawke gave those two over to the circle.
You just know it.
It doesn't make me sick that Anders is that GRRR about Fenris to be gleefully happy that Fenris is gone.  It just makes him still human.

The writers are that damn good.  They give plenty of clues, but they don't beat you over the head with it.  Anders can occasionally seem perfectly normal.  He tries hard to hide it at first.  I love/hate the Bioware writers.

edited to add:

DeaHamlet - Human, understandable, yes, totally.  But I still want to punch him out.  I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.  I would be perfectly happy with someone just being dead, no need to torture them.

He didn't try to justify it at all. He did say that they'd managed to kidnap him because he hadn't expected mages to come after him, though.

I only decided to do it AFTER I read that.  Otherwise I was going to make my aggressive mage into a hypocritical douche and just lie to the templars.  The way I had him make a deal with a slaver for Fenris rivalry points.  UGH.  Never washing that off, ick.

If you mean the import romance bug there is a un offical patch I am using. http://social.biowar...m/project/4364/

If you mean the actual romances I know what you mean.
