On Anders' experience: He has got to be great in bed.  I mean, it seems like all he did in the Circle was plot escapes and sleep with everyone he could.  Add in the magic and the healing hands...  I don't think Hawke gives a rat's *** what he blows up during the day, so long as he comes home to bed at night.

I'm pretty sure my Hawke has the occasional nightmare of waking up to find Vengeance staring at her in the dark with those eyes. Creepy as hell.

Human minds go to the Fade when they dream, right?  And Justice takes over in the Fade.  Does that mean that while Hawke is in bed having sexy dreams about Anders, Justice is lying next to her plotting his vengeful plots?  It makes me sad to think that Anders might never get another wet dream!  Especially since he talks about how for three years he was awake aching for her...

From what I understand, non-magic humans visit the Fade while dreaming in a different state than mages do who go there intentionally. Like the difference between regular and lucid dreaming. I don't know if mages can have regular dreams or not, but I'd hope so, for their sake. I can't imagine that spending a night in the Fade makes for very good rest. If that's the case, Anders can probably have regular dreams as himself, but goes all Vengeance when he enters it intentionally.

I know there's more info on it in the DA:O mage origin, but I can't be buggered looking it up. I do wonder if he could pay a visit to Hawke's dreams, or if that's only possible for somniari.

OMG you are right!  I must go back to my first plan on strangling Justice out of Anders.

My warden managed to un-demon Connor, so why is it so frickin' hard to un-spirit Anders!?!  Has someone written Irving about this?  Aren't they buddies on Facetome?

I sometime think that Anders wouldn't reverse it, even if he could.  He seems to really have embraced his new identity.  Vengence boy!!  All he needs is spandex and a cape.

He'd probably change his tune in Act 3, particularly post-Chantry if only to free Justice.

I was thinking about a way just to push Justice back to make Anders possession more like Wynne's. He can't be seperated without losing more of himself, so just make his the dominant personality with Justice fueling the power so to speak. I might have thought way to much about this while slightly tipsy though.

Honestly the game had me pulling out hair.  Connor aside you help the boy in Night Terrors, and it seems the Dalish can send none mages into the fade and with out Lyrium!! and also know how to seprate a spirit from a body, with out destory the mind of the person.  I think Anders might go for it, if seprating Justice from his hate and rage would return the spirit to what he once was, a force of justice not vengeace.  I really feel for Justice he doesn't seem to know what he has become or that Anders is scared ****less of him now

Also explain to me how "martyr" and "blood of my enemy" isn't blood magic?! Cuz it seems kinda bloodmagic-y

I'm pretty sure it's because the demon who was controlling Connor was doing so from the Fade, where it was physically located. In Vengeance's case it was fully torn from the Fade as Justice, and forced into Kristoff's body. It no longer has a presence in the Fade: it's now located entirely inside Anders.
There are a few references to Vengeance being "trapped outside the Fade", hence the uncertainty as to what would happen if you killed or destroyed the host body.

Which... yeah. Doesn't give much hope for separating them.

SQUEE.  I totally like to believe that.  I really am so mushy, I must be the bane of rivalmancers everywhere with my perky and hopeful outlook on the whole Anders business :P

Justice + friendmance Hawke forever. xD We know it's true.

You have no idea what a relief it is to know I'm not alone.
That voice, people. The voice.
As horrible as it is, in one playthrough I kept encouraging Anders to let Vengeance come out to play, in the hopes that I'd get to hear him speak more often. Alas, it was not to be. Tear. ;3;
I'd like to think that, at least post-Chantrysplosion, they feel the exact same way about friendmance!Hawke. Because if nothing else, (s)he has been supporting their cause and acting like a big stupid enabler the entire time. And now there's no distinction between their personalities, sooooooo.... >.>
Anyway. Gradual trust. Ya gotta love it.

Me, I'd just be all, "Oh hi Vengeance. Could you just lean in a little closer... no, a little to your left... perrrrrrrrrfect."
And then crack open a book.
Because let's face it, Vengeance is the perfect nightlight.

Me and my boyfriend were talking about that.  He thought it was stupid that Anders is tearing Merrill a new hole(my boyfriend hearts that elf)  then he goes all vengeance and blood magic is being flung around like candy.  I think when Vengeance/ Justice is in control Anders doesn't fully know what is going on until it is said and done, and I don't think Justice realizes what be has become.

I heard this before. Why do people say this? Irving says you the reason you can remove Connor's demon is because he willingly let the demon possess him. If the demon had taken over Connor by force, you would have to kill the abomination.

I am desperate for a DLC with Anders. Did blowing up the Chantry, battling Templars, and killing Meredith satiate Vengeance a bit? Or did it whet his appetite for more violence?

I liked the "new content every 30 days" idea.

It honestly could be we are all right, because the writers don't even know how they want it, or they change it based on what they want it to be at the time.  OR they know, but the people in Thedas even the mages are unsure on how all this realyl works.

The difference between Connor and what's happened to Anders and Justice is really different.

Connor was possessed by a demon that was still in the Fade, that's why you can go in and kick her ass.

Anders and Justice on the other hand... the merging took place outside of the Fade in the mortal world. Their "souls" are pretty much melded with the occasional bouts of Vengeance taking over. I'm not even sure death would really separate those two.

So I wanted to delurk myself here.

I just finished the game for the first time, and I have to say it. It doesn't matter what Anders did, I can't hate him.

Was kind of funny really. When I first started playing the game I was all "Yay Anders! Anders and Justice! My two favourites from Awakening in one! Possessed Anders is kind of sexy! Mmm."

Then of course **** starts hitting the fan. I was thoroughly creeped out when I took Anders into the Fade. Got a little worried when he started acting crazy. And by the time Act 3 rolled around I realized that just like my Warden, Hawke was going to do horrible, horrible things in the name of love.

But to be fair, I had to roleplay it out. By that point in the game what did my Hawke have left? Nothing except his crazy, abomination lover, who at that point probably made Hawke a little crazy as well. Insanity is infectious when combined with love.

I was hoping for more in regards to romance dialogue though. That was a little disappointing, but alas. Video games have taught me that I truly am a hopeless romantic.

yukidama - Where is your avie's hair from? He is so yummy!

-----------------------------------------------------

All the folks writing about happy fun dreams of Anders with glowy eyes, my bloodmageHawk did that. She was in lust with Vengeance and didn't give a tiny rat's butt about Anders. To her, Anders was a convenient vessel. What she didn't know is what we know from DA:Awakenings. Vengeance does not have squishy flesh creature hormonal urges. When Anders tells her that Vengeance does not approve, she's sure that will change, if she just blows up enough templars for him. ;)

Could Justice be shunted into a dead body, after being pulled out of Anders? Or a cat? Could he ever be put back into the Fade somehow? I don't buy that the trip had to be one way, but I don't quite remember what Justice said about that in Awakenings. If mages can go back and forth, and demons can enter and be banished, he should be able to go home too. Poor Justice. :(

edit:
Just saw Camilladilla's post.  So Anders/Justice are more blended than Kristoff/Justice.  Phooey.  Do we know what happens to spirits of compassion when spirit healers die?

You can encourage Justice to come out more often (even if he refuses)? Image IPB Where is that option? I must find that option. It would definitely be Kaya's style, just like the "unwilling participant in our threesome" line.

Justice should come out more in romance scenes if encouraged. He was all curious and envious in Awakening. D: In fact, it was the closest I got to a romance in Awakening. But I guess that's what imagination is for.

With Kristoff it was just an empty body, which is why Justice was Justice who happened to be able to look into Kristoff's memories. It's a real kicker some of the dialogue he has about beauty and being envious of the love Kristoff had with Aura. Even in Wynne's case, the spirit of Faith was still helping her from inside the Fade.

Jowan says that Connor can be unpossessed by killing the demon in the Fade (because the demon is not physically in Connor).
Threeparts is right that this is quite different from the Justice and Anders situation.  There might have been a way to reverse what the Baroness did and send Justice back to the Fade while he was still in Kristoff.  But now that he and Anders are blended into one being, it's probably a lost cause.  Now talking about "Anders" and "Justice" seems more like talking about two sides of one personality.

By 'encourage', I mean 'promote discord and try to push Anders to a breaking point, because goddammit I want to see his superpowered evil side'. Granted, with the rival path, that superpowered evil side is as likely to round on you as anyone- but still.

Justice should come out more in romance scenes if encouraged. He was all curious and envious in Awakening. D: In fact, it was the closest I got to a romance in Awakening. But I guess that's what imagination is for.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I would enjoy that, or shriek in terror. >.>
But in hindsight, it does seem like they were building you up for something with those lines, only to ignore it in favor of "RAAAAARGH TEMPLARS I KILL J00".

Hehehe. Awesome to read about everyone's desires for Vengeance/Justice, etc.
I, and as a result my Hawkettes - particularly Lorelei, the main canon, totally fell for the Anders/Vengeance blend.
The only one with issues with the whole blend was my rogue who was all for the middle road and moderation (eep), so she admired Anders' great works and dedication but she couldn't embrace the extremes.
Me, as a person, totally love the combination of Anders and Justice/Vengeance. I think Justice would have totally been curious about this love thing, but I think Vengeance is far too single minded about the mission. My mage doesn't mind, she's pretty gung ho as well, but unlike Vengeance, she's only fleshy bits so she has emotions and urges... and this new Anders is totally her match and her style of crazy. Passionate, sometimes irrational, and Maker help you if you ****** them off or hurt their loved ones.
I can't possibly see my canon mage able to love Anders "except for this Vengeance dude"... it's all one package for her.
Hence the friendship. Hence the support. Hence the understanding.
And my mages just love it when a man gets all GRR and ARGG and protective. Other people hate that about Anders and Fenris, I love it!

You raise some good points.  DA:II Anders is so much hotter than Awakening Anders because of that passion and determination.  My main Hawke loves that he has a calling and a purpose.  She has always just focused on protecting her own family and (especially as her family slowly dies off) is grateful to become part of something bigger.  He may be scary intense at times, but she loves every moment of it.  She is actually most upset with him for making up the whole potion lie in Act 3.  It should be clear by then that she is commited to the cause.

Varric: So Daisy what do you want for Christmas?
Merrill: Fenris to frolic with me in the field
Varric: Sweetie not even Santa Varric can pull that one off.
